  • Bushcraft outdoor wild camping cots , razed shelter. do you need this or do you think that its not for wild camping.
most Bushcrafters will choose to be off the ground, may it be with a razed bed or a heap of foliage to create a nesting bed. wild camping does have a place for cots but space and bulkiness may be an issue if you traveling light. if you have your own permission or camping near your car then i think having a cot bed is an advantage. For some people this can mean the difference between camping and not camping, most of the wild campers are in their older years and for some that have issues with their backs and the tribulations that age has imposed on them the cot bed offers that extra level of comfort. With an additional self inflating mat, things really start getting comfortable and that edition protection from the rising cold the mat is a must.i found this cot and mat from Aldi to be a cheep but yet amazing quality, the cot bed is comfortable easy to put up and the side storage pockets are useful for the phone and other things we want easy access to.
the frame is rugged and lock off make it that little safer, the angles of the legs allow for taking our weight on the edge of the cot. the sleep mat is self inflatable with a memory foam inner and a handy valve for quick lock off and release with little struggle. the top of the mat has silicone like stripes to give that non slip property and press studs so that you can double up with another mat for extra thickness.
this was just a quick look and review in to this awesome but yet budget cot and self inflating mat.

I have an old Safari bed for my size 3 Lavvu which is very similar, Great in Winter to get off the floor..

I consider myself a bushcamper as much as a bushcrafter so l have considered a set up like this. Like you say, the main thing us you're out whether you are unliadi g from a car or a gramme junkie.

Not sure if I'd use a cot myself but that does look like a bargain. Good to see that the rollmat comes with a 3 year guarantee too.

Dreich Outdoors I got a fried that uses a cod bed most of our camp outs. He has issues with his back and a war injury in his legs so it’s better for him to use one then sleep on the floor. I hammock most the time and though one day I might just have to use a cot bed at least I’ll be doing it with fresh air and a view. 😁 thanks for leaving a comment 💪

Seems like a good deal for its price, but I do wonder how long it will last. Sometimes cheap stuff means having to replace it sooner than you would like.

Yup I agree but this is well made robust and I think worth the money

I have two camp beds. I like yours, which I use with a 3m x 3m tarp, and a lighter one that I bought from Millets for about £16. I much prefer your one, it's sturdier and I use it as a chair. The lighter one does fit in a size 1 Lavvu, even with a pole.

Not tried it in the Lavvu yet but I’m sure it will only fit if you don’t have a Center pole

  • @adventureswithbecketandxena

Great review 👍 How small does it pack up? Can it fit in a 75 liter backpack?
    Thanks for the info

To give you an idea, it’s not much bigger than a standard garden folding chair, size wise once folded down

  • @sierrasurvivaladventures
