Hey Ayee, this is really good information. For anyone watching, if you do not have any experience or education in the medical field, it is really tough to get a medical job. Remember, medical is one of the most sought after career fields in the Air Force. So there are very limited slots. But if you have experience or education, Ayee hit it on the head. We can do a competency booking. Make sure you when meet with your recruiter, he or she is aware of this. A lot of recruiters just don’t know about it. Good luck everyone.
CONGRATS, on achieving that which you hoped to achieve. You are truly blessed, as we all are in some way form, or fashion. I recently was volunteering and worked alongside a prior 20yr AF vet who talked to me about her role as a diagnostic imaging tech. She praised it very much and I was wondering with you and your husband being in the USAF would you by chance know any Diagnostic Imaging Techs in the USAF, who I might be able to speak to regarding that career path ? Thank you for your time and video input, be safe and God bless 🙏 😉💪
If you have graduated and have an associate degree in ultrasound diagnostic imaging and also have passed the ARDMS certification/registration. And now you would like to enlist join the Airforce, would it be possible/ can you get a guarantee job in the medical (diagnostic imaging) when joining enlisting in the Airforce? Thank you for your advice
I took a medical terminology class as well as an anatomy class in high school, would that count in anyway towards getting a medical job in the AF? or would they only consider taking people if they have college level class experience?
Good question! I don’t have the answer to that but if you’re really interested, I would talk to a recruiter so that they can answer that in the best way for you.
I just recently talked to a recruiter about doing fire protection and I also have certifications that go towards that. He did mention the competency program but he is still making me list 9 other jobs...should I insist on only listing one?
That is your choice, however making the list is normal because although you want to do the competency booking, that job may not come up and at the end of the day it’s up to the AirForce’s needs. I had a really great recruiter and he was the one that fought for me but he also did remind me constantly that it is not guaranteed that I get dental.
@@Aaaalliyyaah Thank you for replying! I am going to talk to my recruiter about time frames for leaving today so I'll keep this in mind! Good luck to you, airman!
I think as long as you do what you need to do for your commitment in the reserves it doesn’t matter what you do occupationally outside of that. However, I am not in the reserves and not 100% sure so I would ask a recruiter. Thanks for watching!
