- On May 21st, 2023 - Officers were dispatched to a local Walmart for a hispanic male subject who was seen throwing beer cans at customers, harassing women, and peering into car windows. When officers arrived the subject immediately became confrontational and physically assaults an officer.

You can see how sick the first responders are with dealing with people like him. Big kudos to them for their dedication. I worked veterinary emergency- I absolutely couldn’t do it with people.

@@ericking030 He's foolish because he repeatedly gave the wrong command. It's exceedingly important for officers to give clear, concise commands. People get needlessly hurt when officers fail to do so. This is a skill that this officer needs to pay attention to and work on.

I don’t drink, never have because my late mom was an alcoholic and not a nice one. I learned very early on a person’s true character is magnified when they’re drunk. That guy is a real menace and one day he’ll make another stupid mistake and will probably end up gone for good…no loss at all.
I hear ya. My mother wasn't a very pleasant drunk either. She eventually went cold turkey after she realized it was negatively affecting her kids. I don't drink for various reasons. She's one of them.

@woebringer7884 tazers can (in rare situations) mess with your heart rhythm, so a quick check is done to make sure your ticker is still ticking in the right rhythm. And he did hit the ground quite hard and is pretty drunk, so I would think a good check over is warranted. Don't want any medical drama at the jail.

I agree. You should have the right to refuse help. However, when someone is in custody, the police are responsible for your health. If something happens, then police could get sued and they'd lose that case. America.

Actually, it’s only on him if he is considered and alert. Alert is defined as knowing his name, where he is, what day it is and what’s going on. In this case he needs a medical evaluation. More specifically he needs his blood sugar checked. Someone with diabetes, need to eat regularly and the right food and take their insulin dose as prescribed by their doctor, otherwise there blood sugar will drop. When this happens their level of consciousness drops as well. Quite often they will appear drunk. I was a Paramedic for 35 years and saw similar things very often.
It's police policy to have a person get medically checked out after getting tazed.

The Female LEO lets the suspect know who is in control right away. With each command she gives him, she applies force approx 1/2 sec later. "Roll over", "get up", "get in the car". She makes sure he is complying with her request before he even understands it. You can tell she's been doing this for a while and doesn't take S**t from nobody. I would really hate for her to be my mom. Dammmmmm.....

I worked EMS in the late 1990's in Los Angeles County and I could tell you these calls are the worst. They are the biggest waste of resources. They waste our time, the Police, and take up space and smell up the Emergency Rooms.
A guy like this is most likey illegal, probably has been arrested many time and deported, but weeks later you see them back again walking around causing problems, yet, you are still required to treat them with respect and keep your cool!
The law should change and make these low life’s work to pay for resources they waste. Make them take the trash out. Do yard work etc.

We have a similar problem here in the UK.
Our ambulance/paramedics are regularly attacked and abused by people who are either drunk, using drugs or both.
There IS a crime of Assaulting an Emergency Worker, but the consequences are frankly not severe enough.
