- On August 16th, 2022 - Officers responded to a group of juvenile girls that complained after riding the Giant Ferris Wheel where they allegedly saw a couple having sex in the cart above them. The couple initially denied having sex on the ride. After police investigation they were both arrested and charged with public indecency

She’s a park officer who works for the city. Anyway, she seemed experienced to me. Especially in the context of her role. She used all the communication tactics that lead to a confession. It can be difficult to have charges stick without one. I thought she did a great job and she seemed plenty experienced to me.

I'm proud of these young girls deciding to press charges and being considerate that this could happen to other people. They potentially saved an even younger child from going through this.

On a ride in the open surrounded by kids. The guy proceeds to say he doesn't care if his children see people having sex and tries to justify what he did by insinuating that he believes that those girls have seen people have sex before. He stared at the girls while he was having sex and laughed. So if your opinion still stands after knowing these facts, I think the bigger issue is that grown adults would collectively label children as rats for getting help for themselves in this situation. I believe wholeheartedly what they said that the people said to them and did... Because that was their whole reason for pressing charges. They asked important questions like if the couple was remorseful and if they admitted to what they did. When they found out there was no remorse they were able to equate that to it could happen again to other children.

It's not their decision to press charges, that's a common misconception that TV and Hollywood has engrained in people. Even when cops ask a victim "do you want to press charges" they're really meaning "would you comply with a future investigation." Prosecutors and DAs press charges, regardless of victim cooperation.

The officer failed here. After hearing from witnesses she questioned the suspects without reading them their rights. There is no video and now she has tainted the investigation. The couples lawyer will certainly catch that and the part where the teenager had words with the couple before the ride giving motive to make up a story about them as revenge. I think this case falls apart at the DA's office. Cop could have done better.
