Alcoholic Mother Drinks Entire Bottle of Vodka and Forgets to Pick Up Kids from School

- In the early afternoon of March, officers received a phone call from a local school stating that a child hadn't been picked up by their parents. The school was very concerned and wanted to do a welfare check on the mother. Numerous phone calls were made to the mother by the school staff, who heard loud music and noticed that the mother seemed to be drunk due to her slurred words over the phone. Officers then responded to get to the bottom of the situation.

So sad. Especially to hear the child accustomed to explaining his mother’s compromised state - “she doesn’t know time right now” 😢
I seen a vid the other day the Mom was fleeing the cops w/her lil girl in the car.The lil girl was so smart to for her age she said I asked my Mom was she on Benadryl cus she was acting strange.I think it was meth&alcohol but it’s so sad to see such small kids having to grow up fast because of their irresponsible parent(s)
@TayZonday I think you're about as hooked as I am to watching these bodycam channels 😄 I always see you commenting on one's I've been watching. These are addicting lol
Nah tay another vid lmao I commented on another body cam video comment you made lol small ass world
The sad thing about that irresponsible mother is that she’s a lot like how my childhood Friends mom used to be when I would hang out at his house during the 90’s and play Goldeneye in his basement living room in Utah and he was raised more by his older brothers and Dad than her sadly 😢
I was thinking the same thing so I looked for this comment. Didn't expect the Chocolate Rain guy to be the voice of reason lol
You don't have the luxury of being incapacitated when you're a single parent, your kids could need you at any moment.
Amen
Exactly. I took my job as a parent very seriously.
This!!! even the meds I take I make sure don't affect my ability to care for my children!!! 😢 I wish I could hug that little guy so bad..... he knows how bad she gets!
That's why I don't have any! 🥳🥳🥳
“You let him hit it raw. You didn’t have second thoughts…”
The faces she was making made me think of Nikocado avocado
I was laughing when she first came to the door she looks a hot mess… the situation not funny tho

Totally! And the shape fits too + tantrum

STOP. I knew it looked familiar lmao I’m all trying to figure it out
My mom never drank booze, never took drugs, never smoked anything. You could count the number of sick days that she took on one hand, while working at Fisher Body for 30 years. Thank you mom!
❤❤
Alcohol is life
😅A great Mother..
Good for you- doesn’t help this child out
Same for my mom and my father was an addict . I thank God every day for the mom I had . But I feel very bad for those suffering with addiction and their families - especially their children . Just very sad
She drank a full bottle of vodka? So glad she forgot to pick her children up to be honest. Poor little kids deserve a heck of a lot better than that.
As do the motorists, cyclists & pedestrians of that particular region . . .
Poor kid..
right? better this happens now before she continues to spiral with her child in her uncared care and something worse than not picking him up from school happens, if it hasn't already
He deserves a sober mom !
Think about this.... a judge thought it was best she has custody because the child support system operates on the fact women get custody because men are capable of paying not them. And for every dollar payed into the system the feds match it to the county, the judges and cps work for the county. It's an illegal ponzi scheem. Now the county will receive another 10k from the feds for taking the child. Remember It's always about money at the end of the day.
She clearly threw up up and passed out. The bile and alcohol from the vomit melted her throat and vocals. That’s why she’s croaking
So that's why she can't talk.
@W0nkaaa😂😂😂😂
I'm glad her voice was out of commission. I suspect that she would scream and holler if she could.
@@annjepsen1621oh you know she would. She was trying to. Lol
Haha DAAAAAAAAAYUM 😂
As a now alcohol free person, this makes me so sad. I hope she truly makes an effort to get sober.
Me too addiction sucks. I hope for her and her children's sake she gets help congratulations on your sobriety 💪
Even as an alcoholic I don't drink myself silly when I've got my kid. Congratulations on your sobriety, it shows you have the strength alot of people don't have when it comes to drink, if you can't handle or moderate your consumption, put the bottle down and walk away...stuff like this happens because people don't have the strength to admit that they're trapped or lack the self awareness to be responsible.
I'm starting over again. One of my new strategies is to watch videos like this to remind myself of why I want to be sober. I don't want to live like this anymore. I get secondhand embarrassment watching videos like this, thinking back on all the times I've acted like a complete idiot and made a fool of myself. It's not worth it.
I don't drink either, but not because I was an alcoholic. I just never cared for the feeling of alcohol. It's a miserable drug in my opinion, and I'm not at all sure why it's our society's legal drug of choice. It either makes people rowdy or depressed, it impairs your motor skills, tastes like garbage, you feel like shit the next day, and trouble follows it like the plague.
I've always been thankful I don't like it.
really needed to see this. just finished rehab and now I’m Ina. Halfway house for women with children. Gotta get clean and stay clean for myself and my little boy.
Praying for you ❤
Congratulations. You've taken the 1st step. You're a strong woman and you can do this. Sending you & your son healing thoughts & virtual hugs.
@@jennilynmae thank yo so much! ❤️ 🙏
Good job being accountable for yourself and for your choices. I know firsthand how difficult the recovery journey can be, but for me, my worst day sober is better than my best day high. The memory of missing my sons 11th birthday because my foolish a$$ had to go to rehab is one of many things that keep me on the level.

Not driving to pick the kids up was by far the best decision this mother has made in a long time.
Well it wasn't exactly a "decision" but yes so glad she "forgot"
Thank goodness, cause this is quite frightening.
True she doesn't belong on the road
Thank Jah she didn't
It wasn't her decision. She was blacked out.
She literally drank away her vocal cords and is blacking out from her day drinking. I hope she gets help soon.
Okay so that is the alcohol? Ive never been around anyone that drinks enough to drink away their voice

He didn't. I think those cops handled everything decently and with grace for the most part. They definitely didn't have to stand there holding the child in view of the mother being arrested.
@ufogarage13 he'll notice she's missing a whole 24 hours
@@ufogarage13 Yeah i was confused about that, thought they were taking him to "see Sawyer?" but then he's just there watching all this. I also never feel like it's appropriate for cops to pass moral judgment on people the way they did her ":You're embarrassing", and literally just throwing her into the back of the squad car. There's a way to get through to people, that's not it. Unfortunately cops don't seem to care about actually helping people
@@kmm4499 unless they are being verbally abusive and calling her profane names... i believe it is perfectly acceptable for them to make remarks such as "you're embarrassing". she is absolutely embarrassing and she should hear it from whoever is willing to tell her. obviously there isnt anyone in her life willing to so why not the officer? its not like he called her a piece of shit or a fucking worthless mother or something... which to be honest... worthless mother would have been what i would have called her since she would rather get trashed than be responsible for her childs wellbeing. and who are you to cast moral judgment on how the officer speaks to her? if she had picked up her kid from school she could have got into a accident and potentially killed her child in the process.
now here is my moral judgment on you because i can... you speak of cops as though they are not human beings with families or children themselves. you act like there was actually a way to get through to this woman, like her son hasnt been dealing with her problem long enough to be indifferent while explaining her condition. the rudest thing they said was what you quoted which is nothing compared to what i had a cop say to me when he had me look at myself in the mirror when i was 17 (tx legal age of consent so treated as adult) and started belittling my appearance and my character which he had nothing to base on. during which i was completely respectful and cooperative with them not to mention honest about my situation. and who gives a shit if the kid watched... he is old enough to know his mom is a mess and a danger to his wellbeing... hell he probably stomps on the car floor often when she drives hoping for a magical break peddle when she drives.
"Unfortunately cops dont seem to care about actually helping people."???? do you only watch videos where cops are being tyrants? have you never seen videos which there are so many more of than negative of officers doing anything and everything possible to help or save people from countless dangerous, horrific or deadly incidents? even when off duty they step up and take action when needed and are able.
the fact that you believe (your generalized blanketing of cops) all cops are object/tools instead of human beings like we all are, and that they dont care about helping people just tells me you got caught at some point doing something stupid, didnt get away with it... subscribe to too many cop hating ideologies because its "cool" to be trendy... or you are just too ignorant to comprehend or understand that "helping people" isnt their primary job function but more oftan than not they are helping those who matter. i guess you dont see how they helped that little boy... i guess you probably dont think shooting an armed attacker is helping or perhaps rushing into a active shooting and not asking the gunman if he would like to speak with a licensed counselor while surrounded by numerous dead bodies man woman and child while others are still in danger... but instead ending the threat as soon as possible isnt helping people.
cops arent social workers. social workers rarely save lives. in fact often times social workers destroy or end lives due to incompetence or just plain disregard of claims, indicators or potential of someone's capabilities. do you know how many children have been killed or physically assaulted (including sexually) due to child welfare workers failures at doing the bare minimum? even growing up being around drugs and crime and cop haters such as yourself. i am so glad i know how to evaluate a situation without automatically labelling a cop as a bad person or some dumb shit like that.
i hope one day you grow up and realize how ignorant that type of ideology and attitude toward law enforcement is a huge problem. hell, it may even be why there are more cops acting like tyrants... because people such as yourself... think less of them and give them shit just for being cops. even cops have bad days... but at least as a whole... they do 100% more than you probably do for the community and will continue to do so even after dealing with fucking dipshits like you. try not being part of the problems in the country and open your fucking eyes for more than just negatives. ignorance should be painful maybe then more people would actually put effort into not being willfully stupid.
cant wait for the day stupid stops being so trendy...
He's gonna grow up a fine republican. After all, the republicans voted to lower the age of marriage for children and remove child labor laws. It is high time this young man gets a job and takes care of the bills! Lazy kids these days.

As a single mom who worked a 12 hour night shift, and spent every day off volunteering at my daughter’s school, I slept through her pick up time one day. I was exhausted. Fortunately she went home with one of our friends and she contacted me. But I felt so horrible, like I was the world’s worst mother. That was 14 years ago and my daughter has since graduated, but I still feel guilty about it. Some people aren’t capable of feeling guilt or remorse. They’re called sociopaths.
Maybe this lady does feel guilt and remorse, but she drinks more to bury it. We have no idea what's happened in her life, if there has been trauma in her own childhood.
My husband forgot his bag when setting off for work once. I went out of the house, caught my husband reversing his car out on to the street, and gave him the bag. My four year old daughter watched from the front door. After this horror, she referred to this for years as being 'Home Alone'. Nearly thirty years on, I still feel bad about it!
Guilt is a self-indulgent waste of time, especially over such an inconsequential incident. You’d be better off channeling that energy on thinking and doing positive things.

“She doesn’t know time right now”, That little boy is so used to his mother being drunk all the time that he’s accustomed to making excuses for her behavior. That is not something a child should be used to. He deserves far better. A child deserves a stable environment with supportive parents- who don’t choose to get black out drunk in the middle of the day when they have to pick up their child from school later. The alcohol is more important to her than her child. My heart breaks for that little boy.
And she has the gd nerve to act indignant to the officer’s questions and saying she’s not drunk when she doesn’t have a voice (it can happen when they pass out and throw up on themselves because the stomach acid eats at the throat), she’s got vomit all over herself, and she can barely walk straight. She keeps screaming that she’s only 11 minutes late, babe, it’s 4 something. Most elementary schools get out between 1:30 and 2:30, so she’s between 2.5 to 3.5 hours late picking up her son- and it’s eeeeeveryones fault but hers. Disgusting. Get that baby a better home.

To hear the child cry for his neglectful mother shows how innocent and unconditional a child’s love is. She doesn’t deserve such a child unless she is willing to get some serious help
This is not talked about enough. Many people will say that a parent's love is unconditional, but really, it's the children's love that knows no limits. Even when being harmed, kids still love and rely on their parents. It's a very sad day when a child actually chooses to cut off their parents.

So a little bit of a story:
I grew up with a bit of a similar mother. There were many times where I'd take the bus home and have to ring the doorbell and pound on the door to wake her up to let me in. Other times I'd wait for her to pick me up only to have to have the office call her to pick me up. I guess the office was getting concerned and she picked up on that so she told me not to go to the office anymore.
One day, she was supposed to pick me up but forgot again. I remembered her telling me not to go to the office, so I walked home alone at 8 years old. I got home, rang the doorbell and knocked on the door to no avail. Keep in mind, we live in the southwest, and in the late afternoon it gets to over 100F outside, and I just walked a good mile home with a heavy backpack on. Desperate to get inside, I climbed off some electrical boxes on the side of our house and hopped the wall to get into the backyard, hoping she forgot to lock the back door. Unfortunately it was locked so I went back around to the front and waited under a tree. Finally she came home and punished me pretty harshly for embarrassing her in front of the school staff. After that, I was sent to my room (wasn't even given water). A while later there were police in front of my house (my room oversaw the front yard) and my dad came home where there was a lot of shouting and arguing downstairs.
About a month later my parents were divorced with my dad getting majority custody. Dad drank too, but he worked so he would drink in the evenings. I just learned to steer clear from him after 8pm and be extra quiet before noon.
Apparently she got a DUI when I was in high-school and had to remain sober. I definitely noticed a change in her behavior, but didn't know what it was, only that she was grouchy and bossy. Looking back I think she just took that time to take her job as a mother seriously, but I just thought she was bullying me as I delt with a mother who was often negligent and overly emotional from her drinking for my entire childhood. To this day, my grandmother, sister, and uncle (her family) barely talk or visit with her. I visit occasionally, but it's difficult as every time I visit there's going to be an hour or so of her desperately apologizing for her actions when she drank, and it can be draining to endure. Dad never quit drinking and died of liver failure a few years back. When cleaning out his property, his house was full of hidden empty and partially empty liquor bottles and his truck had wine bottles hidden throughout.
A takeaway from this is children have no frame of reference as to what's normal and what's not. If you grow up in a house of alcoholics, you assume that's just how things are. Loud fighting at night, parents forgetting obligations, having to repeat things over and over to them as they don't remember the first dozen times, having to be quiet early in the morning, learning to feed yourself before kindergarten, hiding things from police, teachers, and your friends' parents, all of that and more are normal when that's all you know. I remember sleeping over at a friend's house in 2nd grade and thinking his house was weird because not only did his mom make us breakfast, but we were allowed to talk at a normal volume and his dad was up and doing work on the pool *before* 10am. I was never allowed to have sleepovers at my house.
Another takeaway is that when an alcoholic parent sobers up and stays sober later in life, they sometimes are filled with regret and shame for years after. Not always, but that's been my experience.
Sorry for the long comment, just thought I should share. At the very least, it helps me to write it down.
@@kingbadmovie Very good reply.

Omg that child’s crying for his mama is the worst thing I’ve ever heard 😭
Poor baby deserves a good mom
This is so traumatizing for a child to witness, and go through.
Why was it necessary to make this poor little boy see his mess of a mom taken into custody?
Right ! I thought they said he was going somewhere else??
Exactly. 😢
Seems like him being present was unavoidable
@@Chaos.Co-ordinator I wondered if that was the case. How do you keep her out of the driver's seat and keep kiddo unaware at the same time?
Is it any worse then what he sees on a daily basis living with this person?
So sad. I’m glad she forgot the child instead of showing up drunk and driving him home. At least he was safe at school.
Very true.
So true.
She's overweight, often a sign of being molested; survivors tend to sabotage their bodies to unconsciously feel safe from unwanted attention. She's a single mom and an alcoholic living in today's economy. This woman wants to escape her life. Her dying her hair multiple colors and plucking eyebrows, she's definitely in a war. She wants attention but she's destroying herself. My guess is she's been abused, and this raises into question who she had children with; survivors tend to enter into relationships with abusers because they can't understand healthy love.
omg, thats so scary

I feel so bad for that boy. I can’t believe a mom would be drunk and not pick up her kid from school. Of course it may be a blessing that she didn’t show up as drunk as she is.
Hearing that poor babys cries just broke me.
And you’re absolutely right, had she gotten into her car in her intoxicated state a lot worse could have happened to her, her child or someone else!
I agree! Also when the kid said “she doesn’t know what time it is” that was also heartbreaking because this has probably happened before.
Your heart just breaks for the kids. What a rough start to life for them.
She isn't a " mom " ...
I'll just bet the school called because she had been to that school drunk before and they couldn't prove it.
This child needs a really good foster home.
She got bruises all over her arms and legs, drunk as a skink, no voice from screaming all day or night, this woman is the epitome of a "HOT MESS"
I can’t imagine forgetting to pick up your own kids. It’s not like forgetting to buy milk or pay a bill on time. That’s A LITERAL SMALL HUMAN SHE FORGOT
Edit: I’m seeing a lot of comments from moms admitting to forgetting their kids because of a busy work schedule/early school release, etc. I just want to clarify and say I don’t fault those moms too much because those situations are a lot more understandable. I’m more upset with this woman in particular because she got sloshed for the whole day and forgot her kids.

Many years ago my daughter's school kicked out at 3.30pm. I had worked 10 hours that day, got home around 2.30pm, figured I would have a quick nap for 30 minutes, so set an alarm....nope. I slept through and looked at the clock when the post man rattled my letter box, 3.20pm! To say I sprinted to the school is an understatement. Thankfully walking was about 10 minutes from the school, I arrived just as the doors opened. I felt so bad for days after. The idea I could have missed pick up is just to horrible :( They would have been so scared.
@@cn4936 at least you have an excuse as a working parent. This mom told the cops she started drinking after dropping the kids off
What's more shocking is school called her 20 times to pick up her kids. And she didn't want to do it or she was under the influence
I have an alarm set in case I'm busy cleaning (or napping) and I still check the time 100 times in the last half hour of school because I'm scared I'll somehow miss pick up. I can't even imaging this.

They should have called the police sooner. Calling mom 20 times is ridiculous.

The kid does. Couldn't care less about this 'mother'.
That's a sad and hot mess. No child should have to go through that trauma at such an impression age.
That poor baby, having to deal with a parent like her… I hope the dad lives close to be able to help
Why would they subject that kid to all that mess. Leave him in the cruiser. Leave him with another officer. Something. Jeez. He got a front row seat, and years of trauma ahead of him.
My thoughts exactly!!
This will likely help the boy to understand that the way his mother is, isn't normal, nor is it okay. This experience can't be more traumatic then being forgotten at school, or all the other things one experiences dealing with a loved ones unchecked alcoholism.
WELL! NOT THE OFFICERS FAULT they did not know the condition she would be in when they got there! The kid is already use to her being drunk. He said **she doesn't know the time now** IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED. SHE EVEN ADMITTED SHE IS AN ALCHOLIC WHEN IN THE POLICE CAR PLUS SHE added SHE WENT FOR TREATMENTS MANY TIMES BEFORE CLEARLY she is not ready to stop or willing to stop for her kids. THE kids are better off going to foster care. SHE IS THE ONE WHO IS TRAUMATIZING HER KID NOT THE COPS.
@@DOMINIKPAULSEN Sorry you can't see this child deals with this disgusting mother on a daily basis. It's not the first time the police have shown up. The mother has already ruined this kids childhood.

Second time they’ve been out for the same thing and she still has custody. Ain’t that amazing.
Privilege
Yet some families have their children taken off them for minor things, something seems off.
Not really. Services are usually very reluctant to just take kids and throw them in an already overcrowded and broken system.
Their is a massive rabbit hole of crime cases where kids were beaten to death, starved to death, extreme sexual abuse, etc. where CPS visited 5+ times calls from basically everyone but the parent and they never remove them.

I’m 6 years in recovery and I have a 2 year old daughter and I thank God every day that she will never know that part of me. All I ever wanted was to be a mom and I take this role so seriously because I never thought it would happen. She’s the miracle I had at 35 and I will do everything I have to do to make sure I stay healthy for her. I’m adopted and my biological mother was an alcoholic who already had 2 kids she struggled to care for and she chose to give me up instead of dragging me through what my siblings experienced and I thank God for that every day as well.
It broke my heart hearing the kid cry. He's too young to fully understand his mom has issues and all he know is he loves her and cops are taking her away. A parent should never put their kids in any position like this. Its awful. He deserves a better mother.
Don’t underestimate kids. Me and my siblings knew our parents were addicts. We knew it wasn’t a good thing.
The kid just got a dose of reality, that his cries are not going to be answered. When he gets a bit older, he will learn to be stoic, keep his emotions suppressed, and have no reactions to almost anything.
@@7eyesopenwide168 Yeah that is true, being as I was abused by my own mother since I was 4. I just don't wish upon a kid to grow up so fast knowing his mom can't care for him like she should because she's chosen to be a alcoholic.
