Can a 2006 Chevy keep up with a brand new twin turbo Aston Martin that costs 4 times more? We teamed up with our friends at @throtl to build a badass C6 Corvette Z06, but before we hand it off to one of you lucky Hoonigans we had to give it a proper high-speed shakedown. Pedro was kind enough to bring his very fancy AMG-powered, twin turbo Aston Martin Vantage out to line up against our newly upgraded ‘Vette.

I love how no one can ever get launch control to work in their supercars
It worked just didn't work the first time because I was attempting a burnout but the car would cut it off and engage launch control it's annoying that and my knee is held together by a couple screws and wires so holding it down for prolonged periods of times is difficult but I still got it to launch good on the last 3 but it's no match for that Z06 😅

LC is more for at a stand-still without doing any prep... set it and launch. Like the 911 Turbo S or the BMW M5CS; 3500rpm soft limiter but launches like a rocket thanks to AWD too. Plus people like Matt Watson from Carwow, drifts doughnuts to warm tires rather than a drag burnout.

Those C5, C6, and C7 Vettes sound so good. The new C8 sounds like a Ferrari. Doesn't sound as good as past gen Vettes.
@@camaro25 only the C8 Z06 sounds like a Ferrari. Even then the C8 Z06 sounds like a C7 Z06 and Ferrari 458 mixed together. C8 is a lot deeper and aggressive sounding

they're aired out of order from when they've raced if you remember Rob Dahm was the first one to race Lia but was the second to last race to air just to give an example.. pretty sure the blue car was the Audi TT RS. they already did a race with an M4 which was against the new NSX that aired 2 months ago.

Aston Martin Vantage/DB9R vs. Corvette C6/C7/C8R has been a fun battle at Le Mans since 2005. Technically it ended already, but there is a chance for one last GTE-Am battle in 2023. Love to see more drag race battles of these two.
It would be cool to see the c6 zo6 go again some of the cars that donut media have built, like the 350z from high team.

Whoever determines "the car lengths" at the finish line they obviously never raced before. When you're on someone's back door or rear fender how is that 1 car length? A few races ago, the losing car was on the tail lights, and the dude said "2 car lengths" Ima need one of the Hosts to stand down there because the camera dude is clueless lmao. @@Syberz the launch on the aston was pretty good (i was the one driving it ,it's just slow 700lbs heavier and at least 100 ponies weaker didn't have time to throw a downpipe and tune on it but oh well shit happens 🤣
