- Rangers 3 Celtic 0 1985 Ibrox stadium, goals from Durrant, Cooper and McMinn, this is unseen footage due to a TV strike at that time, the match was never recorded, this footage is from a camcorder from the govan stand and captures the atmosphere and its noticable how much things have changed in the game, players go make hard tackles without being shown a card.

Singing what you want to,Scottish players on the pitch,players from both sides going in hard for 50-50 tackles and standing in the paddock,things now sadly gone from the game.

Brilliant footage and you can actually hear the real sound of the crowd instead of the tv versions with the volume turned down and people talking over it.

Fucking great footage this. Incredible atmosphere and some proper tackles flying about, really captures what the Old Firm games were like back in the day. Cooper`s goal was sheer class, the first touch out of his feet and bang. Fucking get in.

I was at this game. I'm a Celtic fan and it was my first Celtic - Rangers game. I was 15. I'd travelled up from London on the train in the morning and don't remember much about the game apart from the noise.
I do remember that I didn't know how to get to Ibrox so I got on the Underground with my scarf tucked down my trousers. That's an experience to tell my grandchildren.
I loved the auld enclosure the atmosphere was amazing I was at this game

What a unique slip back into time, to experience the way football used to be supported and how much more passionate every one seemed. And so good to watch Coops dribbling around Celtic players again. Great video!

This ma fellow bluenoses is when fitba was fitba, plenty of passion on both sides, blistering tackles and played with a intensity that couldn't be matched today.this was a time when you really could go n shout n scream whatever you wanted and no one batted a eyelid, got offended, or gave a fuck.I was in the east enclosure that day n my best mate whos a tim was in the sellick end.On the monday at school he got his head nipped obviously which was a joy for me.This was a great game for the rangers.

you can even tell the difference of the atmosphere compared to the " in the crowd" mobile phone videos you get after almost every single game these days

Did you upload this via the 1984Wifi when you got home?This is so rare this footage. We are getting trip back to a time when the atmosphere was deafening! Now it's mostly tame at ibrox. At 07:40 we see when the whole of Ibrox was literally jumping and singing together. We can even see the east enclosure rippling with bears.

Brilliant upload mate, so how in the space of 31 years can players like this get on with the game even if there is hard but mostly fair challenges without the need to roll about or get stretchered off and just act like true men, now compared to most of today's players who will be down on the pitch at the slightest touch? Because of the amount of foreign players that have come into our game over the last while so its became acceptable, its a game for Fucking fairies now thats ruining it more each decade that passes by.

In those day's at parkhead Rangers fans were given seat's in the front and back of celtic's main stand yous'ed to be mental going for a piss or a pie every body around you were getting into each other battling like mad that was the good old day's.Rangers used to have the biggest away support in euro football then at parkhead they gave us 22.000 plus thousand's skipped in or doubled up with 1 breif or bribed the turnstile guy most were bluenoses.Parkhead my fav away ground i lived 5 min from it
Was at this game- if it was played today would've ended up 8 a side the tackles are flying in. Went to Tynecastle the following Saturday a d we got gubbed 3-0
@Upeter2 There was a TV strike, although Rangers were the better side its clear that both team got steamed in from the first whistle, were this game to be played today, there would have been at least a couple of red cards for each team. Oh for football to be a mans game again.
I can remember this game. And looking at it again. We did take the tackling, and more physical game. For granted at the time.

I was at this game. That season was a nightmare but this was one of the highlights. I can actually remember being a bit disappointed with the score as it should have been more than 3! The next 2 games at Ibrox were 4-4 and 3-2. No shortage of goals! This really does give an idea of what it's like to be at an Old Firm game from a fan's perspective.
The enclosure was brilliant at Ibrox, obviously not when Celtic came coz they got half of it and the whole broomloan, it was a much better atmosphere back in the 80 and early 90s without a doubt...
This is amazing footage, i dont support Rangers or Celtic but the atmosphere sounds electric

Something struck me while watching this. Old firm games had some real hard tackling going on from both sides with none of this rolling around to get each other booked. I used to love watching dave mackinnon and peter grant go at it.
This great vid shows up what we have lost. Passionate, standing crowds with the action on the park matching that passion. Tough tackling, no rolling around, no crying to the ref, no flashing advertising hoardings, no fans holding their mobile phones. When will we learn to stop bending to the snowflakes who will only stop when they ban heading.

I think this was November 1985. The scorers are Durrant, Cooper and McMinn. The control by Davy the way he took that ball down and drilled it in was just magnificent.

The season before did we beat Celtic 3-0 with the late Colin Mcadam scoring a hat-trick.Have a suitcase full of Rangers game's from the 70s and 80s when Aberdeen and Dundee utd were top dog's and were refered to as the new firm First game was against St johnstone in 1971 i was 6 year's old and spent the entire game watching the crowd rather than the match.My favourite Old firm game was the 1973 cup final win.My favourite game and it's hard to choose was the European cup game against juve in 78

Remember it well what a performance. You couldn’t get the grass stains and mud out the strips after it. Won every 50/50 ball. 🏴🇬🇧

Big Colin scored two that day, John MacDonald got the other. Johnny Hubbard was the last Rangers player to score a league hat trick v Celtic, 1955 season in a 4-1 win, Billy Simpson got the other.

Was there 😀🇬🇧😀🇬🇧 trying to get tickets was grim . You would look about at the stadium for the dudes that stood with their hand in the air to let you knew. They had tickets for sale at a negotiated price 😳

@Upeter2 Im sure the 4-4 game is uploaded somewhere on youtube, I do have it yes. the Glasgow cup final at Ibrox was a fantastic match, a Friday night, Ibrox was full and the atmosphere was superb, never ever seen any footage of that one sadly :(
Just how I re,member the Old Firm games. Blood and thunder with none of the weak refereeing and pathetic play acting from prima donnas. Love it and miss it...
Rare stuff this was the same season as the 4-4 draw at ibrox , im pretty positive the 4-4 draw was the only highlights shown that whole miserable season .

i think they were genuine they were obviously running at a loss but football was cheap it was trying to sustain it when it became more expensive was there problem christ it sent celtic into admin trying to compete
