Was at this game 1st time I seen us beating the reptiles on their own patch. It was a hot AUG day magic ! The day I got engaged too but that never ended in a fairytale lol !
My first OF away game and how I enjoyed it . Sadly I had to wait another 9 years until the next one .I came away from the last one where K Miller scored twice and thought ,we won't have to wait long for the next .Lesson learned . Message to the young ones . Any away wins should be treated like a special cup final .Enjoy ,lap it up and spend the whole week celebrating it . You just never know how long you are going to wait for the next
biggest away support in any game in europe at the time, officially 18.500 tickets for behind the goal and 2 thousand in the mainstand, loved it back then but we didnt get many victories at torbett towers until souness arrived.
@@petergibson3906 Yep. I'm pretty sure we got 20k or so in those days. I went to several as a young guy in the 80s, and while our end wasn't always packed, it could hold 20k no bother. Funny how older guys are more enamoured with the win (legacy of 2 OF a season), but my age just loved going there. Obviously we wanted to win, but looking back I couldn't care less about the result. Just being there was enough. That's what the younger generation (on both sides) have lost. Attending an away OF game is a right of passage in Glasgow, or it used to be.Now it's succumbed to the money. It's destroyed the match. Going to Brigton and walking up London Road was magical when you grew up on the south side in those days. Nasty, at times, yes. But that's Glasgow. There is nothing on this earth that can replicate going to PH then going through the barras after. Great days.
Every time the ball went near mcloy my heart was in my my mouth, never rated him as a keeper, but Jim Bett great player good to see my old favourites once again
Always remember this was the first win at piggery I had ever witnessed as a young bear Glorious day but sadly it was to be another 9years before it was repeated
as an american i like soccer my question is . if i was a scot why would i support another country which if im wrong the green team are they not from ireland and not scottis h but the other team are ,please help.
Mcgrain and Jardine remain the greatest Scottish full back duo in living memory. We could do wi some o their quality these days.

How many tickets did we get for the piggery back then?
A good few thousand as we filled the Rangers End.
Rangers always seemed to take a bigger following to Parkhead.. than the filth did to Ibrox..
Has nobody noticed the McAdam brothers playing on opposite sides?
Was in the rangers end 14 year old, watp

Celtic have a big Irish/catholic following but don't want to get in too deep.
The green team represent Irish immigrants. The blue team are an English club. One sing Irish songs, the other English.
pairsay Celtic always cheated never defeated since 1888. Whanks
left the game at 1-1 just missed Millers stunning strike :)
Was at the top of the Tunnel when he scored. It’s the loudest roar i ever heard. Only actually seen the Goal 35 years later. Worth the wait 🇬🇧
Another dodgy decision by the linesman ruled out Murdo's goal...but then again its not unusual
Bet it was the MASONS to blame again.
Boo hoo, well gubbed that day
