Fair play to the ' Jocks' & that was some goal by Mark Hateley ( who I think got forgotten by English fans once that media legend Gary Lineker got his nose in) but with Hateley playing abroad,England & the fans missed out!!
And Leeds Midfield was quite something to say the least..Even as a Spurs fan I liked that David Rocastle he seemed to have it all!
What a keeper Goram was.
Ally's face after he scores, just shows his passion.
For all those who thought Leeds were a better team or were unlucky. What are you smokin’?
What a night, I'll nvr forget ray Wilkins saying that he was talking rangers to win 2-1 and they just laughed at him & saying do you really think the English champions will be beat
Hatleys goal was incredible
A proper Rangers team 🇬🇧💙
RIP Andy. Hero goalie.
Smell The Glove
Cracking strike from Hateley
Andy Goram The Best Goalkeeper Ever God Rest U Andy The Goalie,
That Super Ally goal was beautiful
I'd love to know who that one solitary fan was, applauding when Ally McCoist's header hit the back of the net.. either a Rangers fan who had blagged a ticket for the home end, or a Leeds fan demonstrating a perfect appreciation of effective counter-attacking football.. 🤔👍👊
i noticed him as well I think he just clapped cos the build up and finish was a peach
Big Mark Super Ally and Goram superb!! Did not no Rod wallace played in that leeds team One of the people. Both team had a Allstar line up.
Goram is like a Neville Southall clone. RIP Big Man.
Andy Goram was better than big Nev
That Leeds team was amazing. Just goes to tell you how great this Rangers team was.
I could not understand why we lost against rangers. We was the better team.
Some stupid mistakes.
Probably not many people know this but in that season Leeds failed to win an away league game. They were great the season before but were not the same team at all in this season. Rangers were a very good team though.
@@rachaelfrancis5496 we missed mel Stirling.
A lot.
And it was our home record that kept us up.
But Leeds was the better side against rangers.
Our goal keeper punched it in our own net ffs.
Mistake after mistake.
@@garrybastow1930 Excuses, Excuses! Beaten by the better team, Overall.
The three foreigner rule. Happy days. Three class goals and 8 class save's, in the tie. The rest was an old-school British battle, low on quality in the rain. But fun to watch.
Best goalie on the planet rip the flying pig WATP
always remember this as a kid the English media thought the champions Leeds just had to show up 😂
Gough was a complete animal in the air nobody was beating him
I remember thinking Goram would be snapped-up by one of the big english clubs after his performance that night but he wasnt - - what a shame, he deserved to be on a bigger stage !
Commentators were so much better back then, I can't even watch Scottish football now on BBC it's so bad!
The screaming banshee is a bloody disgrace!
R.I.P The Goalie. 🥲
Check out the pitch side advertising boards. They only change between the edited clips. Trying you work out if they were screens or revolving boards but never see them change until next clip
I will never forget that moment at 10:30
one of our best performances
Respect to the Leeds fan clapping at that brilliant counter attack. Back where you belong in the EPL, all the best to you.
When Scottish teams decide that it is their time, they cause a lot of troubles to their English neighbours and they don't achieve less results than the English squads.
How much do I not miss Gerry McNee......
He was a wee arsehole of a man. But far easier on the ears that the terrible commentators we have to put up with now! The screaming banshee being the worst, I have to mute him during games.
Two great games and strange to think Howard Wilkinson was English manager to win the title
the flying pig was the best goalie of that era
Hateley, WHAT a striker. And by the way we where CHEATED by the cheating French and Russians or we would have won the thing.
@Billy Reid n here you are 27 years later still obsessed wi the greatest team the world has ever seen . Good in ye ya twisted wee Catholic.
Your religion is proven to be full of & I mean "FULL" of paedophiles.
Now fuck off to one of yer wee abused tarrier support groups n get the help you need.
@@ErnstZundel45 - Why bring religion and abhorrent subjects like child abuse? Is that the rangers only way of getting 'one up' on another team? You do realise that 99.99999% of Celtic fans and most other 'normal' people believe that child abusers should be castrated.
@Billy Reid you stupid thick prick. Learn to spell and how to string a sentence together before you reply to a comment.
Yep. The Russians let Marseille win 5-0. The Russians looked like wooden players on a table-football
Spot on - Marseille looked allegedly to have paid off CSK Moscow - Davie Provan even commented on the hammering CSK Moscow took I think at hands of Marseille - Davie said something along lines later that week " THAT WAS A HIGHLY UNUSUAL RESULT" Davie knew. Rangers were totally conned by Marseille and would probably have won the damn thing. Will never ever get another chance like that sadly.
Imagine what these Rangers players would be worth in todays market. Jesus
Andy Goram .....what a performance
Andy Goram was world class.
Well done rangers on a great result what did that win u? In fact when was the last trophy u won?
"obsessed" "paranoid"
Social distancing from soap since 1888. Sellick fc
The Scottish cup, And before that the league. Stopping the tainted 10. 😂
"THE GOALIE" enuf said lol
Hateley goal goal of the century
Unrated- dale gordon 👌
I loved Dale Gordon and Nigel Spackman.
All the best to you Mr McQueen
ANDY GORAM for me,was the best keeper rangers have EVER had.
aye ,probably.....but we've had alot of good ones tae choose from
@@enochpowellwasright9568 What would he be worth now ,eh Gary. What a team.
Hateley was one of the best players in Europe then
Yeah - he was viewed as a big ungainly target man. Judging by this performance, he was actually very skilful too
@@mattlamb1566 superb cross of the ball and excellent shot. He wasnt as tall as you think - hes 5 11. same height as me - i met him in a shop in Glasgow years ago. Nothing large about him - except bank balance.
@@mattlamb1566 Really, any footballer who has AC Milan and Monaco to a lesser extent on his cv is not going to be thought of as ungainly IMO.
Greg Ingram nah he was over 6ft, Wikipedia has him at 6ft3in but for all that he was more remembered for the hard time he’d give centre backs and winning the ball in the air but as could be seen here his footwork was excellent too, the dummy/touch to Durrant followed up by a perfect cross for the second goal demonstrate that
What a season.
Andy gorem was superb 👏
walter was the man
Diffently
What a Gers team !
More to the story what a Leeds team it was they beat !! They dominant English side of the time,,and the first person into congrats to the rangers dressing room was Fergie!! Was over the moon to watch rangers p on leeds
RIP
@@johncrawford1130 Boring!!
correct me if im wrong but Stuttgart knocked Leeds out but fielded an ineligible player and Leeds beat Stuttgart in a one off game at the nou camp?
Rangers⚽💙
I remember the English being super confident that Leeds would knock Rangers out. I kept pointing out we had a better keeper, a better defence, a better midfield and a better strike force than Leeds but the wouldn't have it; made the victories even sweeter.
English have always been very arrogant that way they still go on about World Cup 66. Yet what they will not tell you is the 1st team to beat England after that World Cup was Scotland.
Diffently
@@craigkelly4278 If Scotland had won the World Cup 60 years ago then our media wouldn’t shut up about it. Just like the celtic fans who don’t shut up about the 67 win.
@@scottconnor8867 no Scotland is no where near as arrogant as England for one thing more people have a positive view of us the world over than they do the English fact as I have travelled through Europe and found people to be more positive towards Scotland and Scottish in General. Than England
Close game, Gorman (all time great performance) vs Lukic (average) was he deciding factor.
Andy Goram one of the best!!!!
Only 24000 fans?
It sounds like 124000!
What was Lukic doing for Hateleys shot, he didn't even jump. Great Rangers team, Leeds were decent except for the gk.
Get well soon Andy g
Rip Andy...born in Lancashire..Scots parents..
How many tickets did rangers get, usually see there precence easy in any ground, 🇬🇧
mick harrison think the commentator said a thousand tickets for them
@@rayzor3463 not many, no wonder couldn't be seen, be interesting to know how many rangers gave Leeds, two legs wasn't it.
mick harrison not many at all, yeah it was two legs and I’d say Leeds got the same when they went to Ibrox, wasn’t much love lost with the English/Scottish rivalry back then, lol. I’ve actually still got the training top you can see the staff/players wearing tucked away in a bag somewhere that I got that season, got my monies worth out of it I think 😂
@@rayzor3463 Got to disagree with you mate, English fans were seriously in to Rangers as their 2nd team years before these matches. These fixtures aside, i'm sure Leeds lads would always like Rangers and hate sellic
