I'm 33 years old now, but was 16 at the time of this. Looking back, it's unbelievable to think Paul Gascoigne played for Rangers. The thing that a lot of people, especially down south, underestimate is that Rangers bringing Gascoigne back from Italy and getting him back to full fitness gave England back 'the old Gazza' at Euro 96 weeks after this. It would be nice if the English ever acknowledge that Rangers & Scottish football brought Gascoigne back to his best after years in Italian exile.

Gazza was truly a world class player; people like Pele, Maradona and Cruyff all rated him very highly. It was said he lost half a yard of speed after his broken leg but you would never know it from this game!
I was a young lad, this was one of my fondest memories as that young lad watching this amazing team. You could see how much that team loved playing with Gazza around. It was complete togetherness. Miss these times.
