Great picture quality in the unit I enjoy watching the video clip very nice until. Cheers
Please provide link for the 120" ALR screen you're using. Great content and thanks for sharing.
The screen is on the same link as the Thor t60 - check the pinned comment or description.
Thanks for all the work and the informative videos, I just joined you and I really need help im up looking for buying new projector the only problem I will be buying it online as we don't have them here my budget around 10k I'm thinking between jvc z7 or one of the new sony I'm using it on my hometheater 150 inch screen with light control any suggestions will be great ((I'm using now lg 810pw)) my screen is 1.3 gain
Hi and thanks for joining the channel. Please join the Discord server (link in the description) and I'll be happy to chat with you offline.
Does it do frame packed 3D? Or just Side by Side & Top and Bottom?
I did see it but I cannot recall - it's all boxed back up now.
How does it compare to other projectors you have reviewed? Specifically the casirs H6.
This one does Dolby Vision, and has probably the most brightness and contrast from any UST I've ever reviewed.
Great videos, thanks for all the valuable information.
I'm trying to substitute my LG OLED TV with a 120" option and Laser UST projector.
I love the fact to have Dolby Vision, 3D capability and I play a lot XBOX Series X FIFA.
Any recommendations to accomplish these options in one unit.
Thank you
This is where I believe a UST projector or Laser TV is the best option because you get all of the features you would get on a TV but at a bigger size than we have TVs. I have made many reviews, so I guess it comes down to which product resonates with you the most. This specific one has 3D and Dolby Vision so it could be a good choice for you. It also has high brightness and contrast.
@@BuildMontage thanks for your answer.
Do you think this one is good for gaming?
Looks incredible. Thanks for mentioning the 3D. 😂 I loved Passengers in 3D. I'll have to check it out in 4k. I have an AWOL 2500 and it's very bright. Can't imagine what 4000 is like.
Its very bright indeed!
Have you tested the Formovie that won the projector shootout last year, if so, how does this compare?
Yes I have the video on my channel :)
@@BuildMontage how does t60 compare to formovie?
Great video as always. Question: is the 4K imagine created with pixel shifting? Thanks.
Yes it is. There are not any laser tvs that do native. Not to be confused with truehd which is still pixel shifting. People are surprised to learn that there are not many projectors at all that do native 4K outside of the JVC, Sony and higher end Barco projectors that have native display of 4K.
Please tell me i can still use Krix Mx20 with this somehow? What's the ATS options with short throw units
Hey there, yes of course you can. UST projectors are better suited for systems that have the speakers behind the screen as there are no speakers blocking the light. Shoot me an email enquiries@buildmontage.com if you're in Australia, I am selling my unit now that I've done the review - I have too many!!
In your opinion, is this the best UST on the market? I have experience with the PX1-PRO and while I thought it was great, I did think it lacked brightness. My critique was that the lack of brightness affected the overall picture quality and contrast.
BEST is subjective. It's easily the brightest UST I've reviewed that's for sure... but all .47" DMD DLP projectors will have a similar signature. Nice and sharp due to a single chip, but they do suffer a little with black levels - however this one also have extremely good contrast as you can see from the demos.
@@BuildMontage thanks for the reply. Yeah best may be subjective but in the end, I’m looking for a projector that has stunning picture quality and has very few drawbacks. That is likely the criteria for the vast majority
@BuildMontage, does the ULTIMEA Thor T60 have dts:x decoding?
What do you mean by “encoding”? Do you mean can the t60 process DTS:x and push it out via earc?
@@BuildMontage yes. Can the projector do dts:x like it can do dolby atmos?
What type of lens does it have. May be the camera but it looks foggy in some clips.
Recording a screen is a difficult task. I try my best but sometimes it just doesn't convey what I'm seeing in person. Which clips looked "foggy"?
Nice review, except you didn't show how well this PJ could crush ambient light. Please make a follow up on that. I have to deal with 2 skylights in my living room. Thanks!
In my upstairs room, it won't matter if I had a 500000 ansi lumens projector, the ambient light coming from the side window will crush any projector as it turns the screen fully white as it's right next to the side of the screen - so its impossible to have black in the scene when the screen has been fully illuminated. Ive made videos where ive shown it, and it's really not fair on the projector Im reviewing because it's the room destroying the light. Many of the shots I did were actually done with some ambient light in the room but the wall the screen is on is painted black so it sucks a lot of the light out. I will say this is easily the brightest projector that I've reviewed in UST form factor but I won't be making any more videos on this one, it's already boxed back up several weeks ago. If you get a CLR or ALR screen paired with this and moderate ambient light it will be perfectly fine for daylight viewing.
Curious how this would stack up against the AWOL 3500. Similar specs with super high peak lumens, 3D and Dolby Vision. Would Awol’s enhanced black level update put it ahead?
I’m reviewing the awol 3000 pro very soon. Stay tuned for that review :)
Please do it side by side!@@BuildMontage
The thing is tho that you can buy a 100” tcl for 5000 that will out perform this in pretty much every way. every time I see a short throw laser TV projector set up I think to myself for people getting 100 inches this makes no sense now if you go 120 150 if you can then it becomes more of a benefit but for 100 inches we have TVs that are very affordable and will outperform any short through laser projector
I reviewed it on a 120" screen (its even in the thumbnail) - so Im wondering why you're focusing in on the 100" scenario - where I agree a TV would make more sense.
Agree but TCL doesn't have 3D option. Also nothing compares to 120-150 inch.
The motion in those scenes look INCREDIBLE!! 😍😍😍😍
The best demos to see that are Super Mario and Avatar. It looks very nice.
vs. Awol ltv 3000 pro, which one do you think it is better ?
The Thor T60 has more brightness and contrast, but I found the features and menus easier to use on the AWOL. This is a beast of a projector, also it doesnt have netflix etc licensed which means you need an external player for it.
@@BuildMontage I feel that the AWOL-provided Fire Stick 4K has very poor connection to WiFi 5G, so I switched to Google Chromecast and didn't have this problem anymore, so there's not much of an advantage left.I think contrast is the most important aspect for a projector, and unfortunately, AWOL's performance is somewhat lacking in this regard.
Cool
Thanks!
Thanks for the support :)
i like to show my support when I can for youtube creators.Good channel,@@BuildMontage
Would you recommend Ultimea T60 or Leica Cine 1?
I havent tested the Leica. I know they make nice lenses - I have some of them in my collection for my cameras - but in terms of comparisons between these two - I don't rightly know. The T60 has some insane brightness and contrast though I will definitely say that!
@@BuildMontageThanks 😃
Nice T brother! :)
😂
Is it native 4k? I can't find this anywhere.
No it's not. There aren't any native 4K laser TVs in existance. Even most 4K projectors are not native. The only native ones in the lower price points are the JVC and Sony offeringts.
How was the gaming latency?
It has ALLM for low latency gaming mode.
Throw ratio?
The throw ratio is 0.21:1
Wonder what the life expectancy of the lazers are ?
I believe between 25000 and 30000 hours but could go even longer
Dont know if its the camera you where using but i see its really pushing thr reds
Yes, it was pushing red, actually the last 3 laser tvs I reviewed were pushing the red laser - this is something I have noticed with tri-color. It can be downtuned - I showed the results as due to the presets available without calibrating with a sensor.
@@BuildMontage the only projector I see with great out of the box colors is the benQ 4550i
@@gufiaito69able it wasn’t bad. I did a review on that one as well. It’s not as bright as this one and also is a single led light source vs this which is tri colour laser.
how does it look on 150"? their kickstarter states in faq: :"We recommend a viewing size between 80 to 150 inches, with 120 inches being the optimal projection size."
I didn’t have a 150” to test it. 16:9 150” would be huge. 120” is massive in my space it’s already as big as I’d want.
@@BuildMontage at 120" how is it compared to awol 3500 and foremove? Everyone ranks foremove as the best
Oh man! Surprise video!
Do you think all UST will be rebranded to laser TV? Seems to be the way that things are going.
Yes I think its a way of differentiating from a projector.
@@BuildMontage I actually like it and think it’s smart
Wait till the price drops.
It's already had a price drop for the kickstarter campaign.
Is the claimed 4000 ansi lumens confirmed?
No - I don't provide my readings because it's not going to reflect the truth. I could measure, however, what screen am I using, what material is it? How bright is the ambient light in my room? What sensor am I using - the list goes on - so I don't like to give readings because it can skew the viewers mind - I like to give my personal subjective feedback on the product and let the viewer decide for themselves - sorry for the long answer but that's why I don't provide readings in my videos outside of colour correction.
@@BuildMontage thank you for your reply, but what do you think? Is it really that bright?
5999 for that , anyone would be super happy with miniled or even Oled 75” tV with true HDR performance ,just saying
The UST projector's real forte is big picture. I reviewed this on a 120" screen. Very bright and a lot of contrast in the image. That's where something like a UST excels.
Been there done that. I'll never fo back to anything under 120 inches. 120 even feels small to me with my 150 inch screen.
@@wokeupmens if it’s just for purpose of Dolby vision or hdr performance then compromise size is not that bad especially considering it’s just for entertainment room where as for dedicated theatre room ,then what you saying makes sense…
@@balakrishnan2997 I have 77" inch LG G6 OLED and the picture is amazing. Still, for personal use watching on my 150" screen always feels like an event. Whether it be watching sports, or playing games. There is nothing like it. I agree though 6k is steep.
to expensive atm
I think it's on par with other similar spec'd units. The 4000:1 and 4000 ansi lumens are a step up in specs and can be seen in the examples. Especially the Mario Bros one.
@@BuildMontage Help me out I want a 120 inch screen and a UST projector. So ULTIMEA + their 120 = 5715 USD and H6 + their 120 = 2599 USD. That´s a 3116 USD diff in price. You have tested both whats your advice ?
$4000 is way too much you can get Similar one but lower lumens for like $1700. You could buy that with ALR and still be cheaper than this. No thx
Which one? I have tested many UST projectors and this one is easily the brightest.
Yeah you could but this looks to be of better quality than those other options
