- The Review Embargo is lifted and we now have our first look at what media outlets are saying about the upcoming major RPG, Dragon's Dogma 2.
And the reviews are mostly glowing, scoring high across the board but across the reviews there seems to be one glaring issue, especially for PC users: Performance with shockingly low FPS reported on even the most high end systems.

It's also a capcom game so will be 25% off within 6 months and 50% off within a year of price is an issue.
Ive got a 3060. Wish me luck
I got a 4070. Best of luck to the both of us
Into the Breach we go
a Modder perhaps or someone with technical knowhow likely will come up with a fix for the CPU issues before Capcom does.
I haven't seen an in depth comparison yet between the first and second, I played a good chunk of the first but I think I was trying to work against the way its map layout works-- you can wander into tough areas in the first one and it looks like 2 does similar stuff, but still lets you do it if you want. First game gave me one of my favorite gaming moments because of this, and it sounds like those are possible in 2. Also the quest outcome system sounds interesting... Looking forward to hearing more reviews from people who've spent a decent amount of time on it, and possibly some of their pocket money. Hope the PC version gets the patches it seems to need
People have compared both and all of them said 2 is pretty much 1 but better.
The director himself said 2 is what they wanted 1 to be back then. For better or worse. Better because it’s just like the first game, so we know what to expect and that we’ll like it. Worse because it barely adds new stuff. But it’s different of course, it’s not a remake.
@@Ocean5ixI could live with this, I pretty much liked what I played I think. Thanks
Great video as always, I am def looking forward to it once i see a sale. However I am hoping my 7800x3d and 7900 xtx can handle it. I can not find if FSR3 is available or not.
found it looks like FSR 3.1.2
Definitely check the Rock Paper Shotgun article for tips on how to improve frame rate. I imagine we'll be getting more guides soon although it sounds like one of the current ones is "kill npcs to improve framerate" 😶
Your specs are waayyy above the recommended so I doubt you'll have an issue running it unless you're hoping for 100+ FPS all the time. Main issue is the big fluctuations in frame rate, caused by heavy CPU usage when around lots of npcs
yeah but amd drivers and new games really been ticking me off. I get dumped to desk top so much on enshrouded I just quit playing. Ty for the input was more of a hopeful post lol. It says it will work but we will see.@@rae9603
Yeah, paper says I am golden but we will see since enshrouded still isnt fixed for my card@@RedbeardflynnRollsAOne
The performance issue kills it for me, which is too bad. I've been really curious about the game. I could do console, but honestly I've always been a PC gamer first, and I still prefer these types of games on the PC.
Same, I was pleasantly surprised that I could play Elden Ring on PC as many of these games tend to be made with console in mind first.
Stellar blade a real next gen game will have 60fps. There is no excuse for dragons dogma.
@@NaregChakhbasianStellar Blade is a PS3 game with DMC5's graphics. Calling it next gen is a joke.
Capcom has talked about the performance and according to them there's a heavy CPU bottleneck in the game regarding how pawns calculate everything (they basically all run as many calculations as the main player all the time). It can possibly be patched. For me it's a dealbreaker too.
I have a 5800x3d and a 4080 running at 1440p. I should be good for the most part, I hope.
If you aren’t good then 0 people are
I'm enjoying the game. I like that people don't mind when you steal their hard earned cash out from under them. While they watch.
I have a Threadripper 3970x and a Gigabyte RTX 4090 OC. Not sure I am getting the game anytime soon 😞. I am a professional VFX artist.... So, I guess I'll just make a cool Dragon's Dogma II rendering/animation instead :-).... hahaha
Drop down to 1440p from 2160 and im sure you'll hit 60fps easy with a 4090. 1440p is the way to go anyways.
Apparently its largely CPU bound, I don't think dropping resolution will help that much unless ur CPU is grossly more powerful than your GPU. I had this with cyberpunk before I upgraded, going from 1440p to 1080 didn't shift my framerate at all.
Is an I7 14700 a good cpu?

Bg3 is still better I see the appeal tho still looks like a good game
It's going to be very difficult for a game to unseat BG3 from my best all time.
I mean, cant really compare a turn based game to this. I love bg3 btw just sayin
Baldurs Gate 3 beats every other game except from Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and Pillars of Eternity.
Kinda hard to compare.
@Toddlawrence87 Iol I'm just pointing out the better game since both are new
@@muddybrige5590bg3 isnt new tho
I just played 2 hours. Respectfully, it's a flaming piece of shit.
Why?
