Yes, if he does well in F2 I have no doubt he will be in F1. F1 needs an American.
yes
Yes. it would be awesome to have a country man to cheer for
@@ventisette. yeah floris thinks he has to be on par with Robert. that's a fucking GIANT order but I think he'll be there. IF he gets a shot in F2 and IF he's in the top 5 - that will speak volumes given the talent pool is one of the strongest i've ever seen in the past couple decades all at once
@@bigbaderek1978 Jak is crushing it too in younger series which is nice
This aged VERY well.
He did well in his first time out.
Not now...
And 3 years after this video is published, Logan Sargeant will be on the F1 grid.
Its sad that people slander him as a pay driver and being an American as being the sole reason why he's in F1, this video clearly shows that he has the credentials similar to some well known names in F1 to be in the motorsport. Looking forward to see him performing next year.
Definitely has the raw pace but needs to find consistency in races. I’ll be rooting for him💪
he's got a habit if you dig in the data to really settle in. the only time he's not led after a break was when Fewtrell was driving like Jesus Christ himself in 2018 post-break Eurocup haha I watched all of the race replays and was amazed. Not sure anyone could beat him in that stretch. But Jamie puts it well in an interview I did with him when he looked back on Logan's season. as these guys mature in cars over the years, the consistency grows. the pace is the thing that is hard to develop and it appears Logan's got heaps
Haas should give him a seat. America's driver for
America's team
I'd be interested to hear or see if they decide to do anything with him period - it would be weird if they didnt
The only way for him to join haas would be having more money than other F2 drivers, which is what haas needs at the moment. He needs a way of proving his value more than just F3, so he can gather stronger sponsors to back him up.
I'm hoping as well, although Haas needs to get their own shit together too.
I think it would be a no brainier for Haas money wise, the sponsorship potential from an all red white and blue team is tremendous. I personally wouldn't even care if they were back markers with Logan, I'd still be happy to see my own country racing and who's to say be wouldn't improve with them.
Of course, Logan has to want to be on Haas, and while Grojean was a bit whiny he certainly had his reasons. With the rake problems of the car and all.
By 2022, F1 will be able to go into the drawing board and create whole new machines, let's hope Haas delivers enough to live up to that promise for Logan's sake too, otherwise he may just sign up with another team like McLaren - if he is signed at all.
Either way, I think one thing is true. For Logan to get the support her needs, he needs more attention and fans. I'll be watching him when the season opens up again and give him my favor.

It seems to me like Piastri and Sargeant will have a rivalry like Hamilton and Rosberg.
i really hope so. piastri seems like a good guy too. that end interview I left in felt about as sincere as it possibly can get
I really doubt that. They are only 4 years younger than Max and Charles. And then you also have George, Lando, Pierre, Esteban, Carlos. Maybe Alex will keep his seat for a while. Nicholas and Lance have made significant investments in their respective teams. And also you shouldn't forget about the guys from the current f2's top 5. It would be pretty hard for the current f3 boys to get anywhere near the top teams in the foreseeable future.
Pourchaire to conquer both.
@@TheOriginalGankstar dont forget my boy zendeli
I just hope Hamilton gets another rival before he retires.
I take it this is a video about an up and coming American in single seater racing 😁😁
potentially hahah
This aged well
I watched the f3 season with more interest than f1 this year, cheering for the only other American fighting for a future in this sport
it may have been one of the better seasons I followed live but even when I went back I picked up on stuff. it's like a really good movie with details it takes a few watches to see haha
There now also a potential for Jak Crawford. He is apart of the Red Bull junior academy and he is only 16. But is not doing very well but he is only a rookie in F3.
He just got signed to Williams Academy team. Future American F1 driver in the making, you got a fan in me Logan Sargeant💪🏻
I want Piastri vs Sargeant in F1
That will be such a fun and intense battle, providing they get similarly paced machinery
That would be awesome haha
If Logan Sargeant doesn't succeed I will cry
I'll be pretty salty if all top 5 aren't flirting with F1 in 2-3 years. Theo too will be pretty dangerous. Vesti had some bad luck himself
mood
Unfortunately Logan has funding problems so he will not even continue in F3 or move up to F2 this year
Hey
This video highlights why F3 and F2 are so exciting to perfection.
they are such incredible races and battles. my main goal and priority 1 was to try to get others more excited about junior racing bc it deserves more of a watch from existing F1 fans.
@@CYMotorsport I totally agree. I actually think that most junior races are more exciting than F1. The battles are more heated, more wheel to wheel action, and the competition is very hard. Sure, F1 is faster, but a heated race doing 250 kph is much more exciting than a parade doing 320 kph.
Anyone in 2022 watching this look forward to seeing him in F2 this year?
He just won his 1st F2 Race!!!!
And onto f1 in 2023, his way up the ranks is truly inspiring
Logan just got signed to the Williams driver academy!
HOLY CRAP IT’S FINALLY OUT. This was a long ass wait but hey it’s finally not down in a few minutes
haha it stuck that's all I care about. enjoy :)
Here after his F1 test at Abu Dhabi! Excited to see his first full F2 series with Carlin next season!! Lets go Logan
God, I want an American on the F1 grid! I would love for McLaren to pick up some kids and do some help for Americans because Zak knows how tough it is for anyone across the pond. If we had an American on the grid.... a boy can only wonder.
It will be very interesting with a US company purchasing Williams F1 with a chance to lure Sargeant into the team. I want the same thing for Frederick.
I know Zak had a similar pursuit in his own racing career and was a stud himself so he knows first hand the challenges and hurdles that get in the way of talent. he seems to have found his niche and does it pretty well I'd say haha but i'd love his unfiltered thoughts on his challenges crossing the pond to race someday
@@DEADLOK69 The williams avenue seems unlikely if they keep their current model, because they really just want drivers with $$$. Hopefully, if Sargent get into a F2 seat and fight to the title, an American company might wanna back him
@@CYMotorsport oh yeah definitely, he spoke a little bit about it on the Beyond the Grid Podcast about a month or so ago. Check that out, it's very fun to listen to Zak
This aged well my friend!
I love Logan Sargeant he will be in f1 he should’ve been the F3 champion
I'm not a big shoulda guy but it was def unfortunate. I could break that stuff down all day. you'll see i got in there real deep for that onboard haha
@@CYMotorsport yea man I got up at like 5am to watch him race too
@Barcelona golden state same
@@CYMotorsport If you go by shoulda Piastri lost points on the half points race to Theo and Sargeant who he finished ahead of. Add the saftey car stopping Piastri overtaking lawson at Silverstone i think it was for the win. There are many could of shoulda moments. Sargeant cost himself by crashing himself into his team mate that cost him big.
It was reported he was unable to secure funding to get an F2 seat and is switching to sports cars. Poor guy
Life imitates art
Well, the man had a huge amount of good timing and fortune, but he put in the results, and it's incredible how well you called this nearly two years ago
As a Sargeant fan, I was FURIOUS at Meguello
Sargeant has absolutely blitzed it in F3 this year. He needs to get into F2 next year. Please someone take him. Please!!!!!
What about Williams for F1 in 2023?
Aaaand here we are. Tbh, he's doing pretty well in that Williams.
I never followed f3 really. I didn’t even know there was an American driver and I’m American haha. Thanks for the video very interesting. And like always, high quality production. Great work.
that was my only goal! glad you enjoyed it mate. F2 next year will be bonkers I'm stoked to see it
@@CYMotorsport yeah I’m pumped for next season I’m definitely gunna start watching more now. Gotta support my fellow American haha.
Just came here after the f2 drive announcement for HWA. Go get em brother
Just wanted to come back to this video- good to have this as a fantastic detailed retrospective
Congratulations on 100k, fully deserved mate. Onto the next 🥂
hell yeah on to the next! thanks very much for the support mate
also, starting off with a lake speed quote. respect.
awesome documentary! keep up the good work
Such a great video, thank you for the quality upload! Cheers from Canada
cheers my neighbor in the north!
I just wanted to thank you for helping a newbie to understanding formula one more than, just the superficial view of the sport. I will be studying you're videos from the first to the latest, so by the time the new season starts. I'll have a much better grip on the details and stats of every team. Merry Christmas to and the rest of the fans, take care.
Production wise - this is your best one yet. Stellar job! I've been sleeping under a rock probably coz I had no idea this was and is happening in GP3 and F2. Great insights I'm rooting for Logan to get his chance in F2 and eventually in F1!
I pushed a lot of concepts in my editing on this one. likely won't be able to go this far ever again to be honest haha
Very nice storytelling! Another example of well thought out and executed documentary!
So excited to see a new upload, sadly its bedtime and if I watch it now I won't take it in 😥. Glad you managed to get it up in the end!!
sheesh FINALLY! you'll enjoy haha thanks for the support. even emotionally it's hard to push through 30 hours of failed attempts haha
@@CYMotorsport really interesting video. The junior pathway to F1 has its issues(although know clue where to begin for a solution, if it exists at all), but watching F2/F3 has been great this season. How results/talent in juniors develops into senior results in other sports is something I find interesting, it's never a straightforward thing, although different factors are at play than with motorsport. One similarity sticks however: don't get too attached to juniors 😅. At least with motorsport there are other options besides F1 though
HE MADE IT!!!!!! The biggest "i told you so" ive ever seen
Fantastic video!
Damn bro, editing is on fire with this one. Thank you for your work!
Thank you for your time spending watching! I know we all have shit to do so forty minutes is a while but I made it so each second counts
@@CYMotorsport I actually look forward to your longer vids. They are very well crafted with lots of information all presented beautifully in an digestible and entertaining manner. You do really nice work, you should be proud of yourself.

glad to hear that Saad!
Awesomely flawless video like always my man! Keep em comin please!

@@CYMotorsport I have a question to ask you, I am a new fan and this is my first season and I have absolutely fallen in love with the sport but I have had lots of people tell me this season has been boring in comparison with ones of previous years. Do you believe this to be a fair assessment? I thought the season has been great for entertainment.
Well done, easily the best F1 documentary on CZcams!
Absolutely fantastic video! Loved all the analysis and looking at Logans career. He's a top class driver and was fantastic this year, I'd love to see him in f2 next year and see what he could do in a good team. F1 seems unlikely without an academy, maybe Haas with american links. I think Mclaren could get him, Aston Martin may want to set one up and he could be a big name in it. Loved hearing everyone's thoughts, fantastic video once again, you're always making quality content
super well done video, we love to see it
glad you enjoy Morgan!

That’s almost movie length. Well presented as always.
Awesome video! I think we need an update to the story
Sargeant will re-unite with Carlin once again. This time driving in Formula 2. He will be busy this week at Abu Dhabi before Christmas break. He will be the only Williams representative in the Young Driver's test on Tuesday. No FW44 until 2022.
Thank you for the excellent content
Great video. Awesome content
CAMERON DAS JUST WON THE EURO FORMULA OPEN TITLE. AND GETS THE TITLE OF "CAPTAIN COMEBACK". Called him Captain Comeback after breaking a huge 86-race drought in Europe. This is the best moment because he is the 3rd US driver to win a title outside the US without the necessity of a driver development program. Riverton, Utah's Bruno Carneiro won the FIA Chinese F4 Championship in 2016. Then it was Potomac, Md. native Kaylen Frederick winning the British F3 championship in 2020 (Now called GB-3). Cameron lived through his experience in the F3 ranks, and he let his experience do the talking.
Even when you post an in depth breakdown about a topic I normally am not inherently interested in I still watch and am always glad I did
That’s good to hear :) I try to make it so it’s a good challenge regardless. I don’t make stuff I didn’t learn a ton while researching so I hope you do too
Been waiting for this!
really wanted to not cut a single corner. def a fun one to make. excited to get back to F1 tho but love junior series racing it has me hooked haha
@@CYMotorsport just finished it! What a great video! What do you think is Logan’s Vance of being in F2 next season? And if he doesn’t get promoted do you think he will stay in F3 or go to another category or series?
Sargeant just got a call up from Campos Racing. They will begin their FIA F2 testing at Sakhir Tuesday morning for the next 3 days.
Thanks cranky yankee! Interesting story...Sargeant is a talent... Nicely paced production...thanks for your work!
Great upload
Logan hopefully will be in F2 in 2022, and also i got to say CYMotorsport's editing is crazyyy, i felt i was watching a professional documentary
You change the name of the channel bud?
Hey... GEORGE!!!!! Am so, so pleased and proud of that mad lad, spurting off into the distance from that beautiful start.... ah it was a wonderful moment of the season for me. Cheers man hope you & yours are well
I am a new subscriber and a new fan of F1, mostly because the drivers and team managers are fascinating to study (I am a people observer). I have already binged 3 or 4 of your videos (my favourites are currently your video on Ferrari's war and your video on Alonso's unfinished business). I was wondering if you have a video on driver mentality yet?
Logan Sargent Williams 2023
In my opinion an overlooked driver,i saw him first time in F3 this year, and i think he will push for f1
yeah I don't make videos about one driver often but when I do it's bc I think there's something there. Logan def has a higher ceiling should any team give him the shot to take their car to battle
This guy impressed me during the 2020 F3 season and as he has no bounds with F1 teams and he's American I would love to see in him new Rosenqvist for Indycar.
Thanks for the video mate.
Its my 1st year when i watch the F3 ship and you got so much battle it was so much fun watching it.
I hope Sargeant will rise to the F2 and F1.
What do you think about Theo Pourchaire in F2 next year by the way ?
good man F3 was a good season to watch live. many f1 fans missed out on arguably an even better fight than we're seeing now
Wow this year has had some good battles in so many series. The end of the super gt championship had me flipping out. Both F3 and f2 were great and round 5 of super formula at Suzuki was nuts!! 2020 was a bad year... except for international racing fans.
Awesome video! He's got the talent and would be a great investment for any team. Having a U.S. driver is vital in continuing to open up the U.S market in my opinion
Wow this was amazing as always, really appreciate the effort you put into your videos and it really shows. I think it's going to be hard for Sargeant to get into F1 soon, it may take a while. Right now there are so many really good drivers that simply got there first and are there now ready to make the step up to F1. I mean if Perez might not get a seat that really says something about how few seats there are in F1 and how you always have to be in the right place at the right time. If Perez went to Mercedes instead of Mclaren in 2013, he would much more easily get a seat as a race winner and potential world champion. There's so much talent right now but the thing is there are still only 20 seats and it's gonna take years for all this talent to filter in to those 20 seats
AWESOME!! we talked about this, great idea
been a long journey on this one but a fun one!
@@CYMotorsport Maybe it will open someone's mind as to what an American driver would do for f1

F1 DRIVER🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
Crazy they made you rebrand your whole shit ... keep grinding man love the videos
AWFUL. But it’ll pay off long run I believe. Atleast that’s how I sleep at night telling myself that haha
I recall another driver who was in his prime racing sports cars and prototypes winning in every category. I only wished that some open-wheel team have picked up Sean Rayhall back in the past. He was 1 hell of a driver.
AND IS FINALLY IN.
he gotta find a way to get in touch with Zak Brown
Just in from the FIA F3 website. Charouz Racing was in need of 2 drivers for this weekend's FIA Testing at the Red Bull Ring. And they brought Sargeant to test 1 of their cars. Knowing that he had no seat, Charouz decided to bring him. Nothing is guaranteed until Charouz sees the results. IF Sargeant can impress the team principals, then he could become the 4th US driver in the grid. IF he gets the Charouz seat, the US will join France for having the most drivers in the field with 4.
Yeah a test is just a test. I’ve got no inside info although if I did I suppose I’d lie and say I didn’t anyway haha I’ll just be glad to see the kid racing again
Great video, as always! This is what Lewis Hamilton meant when he was asked about whether it is easier or not for someone of colour/different background to get into F1 now, he said it was much harder than it used to be. And you need a lot more money and backing. It really does help to carry the name of a former F1 favourite driver, or even better yet.... Having a billionaire dad.
Yeah having motorsports in your family is your best bet by far
Good job bro 100k. I remember when you started and we would chat. But I really hope Sargant gets a opportunity for F1 and doesn't end up coming home and race indycar. Nothing wrong with indycar but us as a nation we need a F1 driver. Im sure HAAS is watching him.
yeah I took that part out of Jamie's interview but he was confused why Haas hasn't reached out to him yet. even just commercially seems silly to not support him. he was in line to win the F3 title for gods sake haha
@@CYMotorsport I've seen interviews with steiner talking about Sargant. Saying that there is a young American in F3 that they are watching but not trying to put to much pressure on. But you never know what is going on behind closed doors. But if they still raced traditional v8 im sure he would be a Ford driver.
Definitely a driver that has flown under my radar for the last while. Only in the latter half of the last F2 season was I aware of his name and how he was doing. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself in some testing in 2021 and maybe we'll see him in 2022, depending on what goes on with Kimi, Hamilton, Vettel, etc
Yeah kimi good point. Lot of FDA could start to filter especially if Antonio can’t improve
he finished 4rd in the standings and had some brilliant performances, I hope he gets into F2 one day
This is another great documentary and it is really well made
Edit: I did some research and Sargeant is pretty good
glad you enjoyed todd! he's a driver that when you look twice, there's a LOT there. it doesn't take away from any other junior driver - just most of them have orgs around them to talk about their drivers. logan doesn't really have that so I felt this was needed just for his own sake. I didn't pull any punches throughout the vid and the chips fall where they do. but I'm glad it has more and more people just taking another look
If haas became a midfield team instead of a backmarker, it would be incredible to see seargeant reach f1
Now we do hope he gets the seat at Williams 🤞
Sargeant is heading for an audition with the HWA Racelab Formula 2 team. He will race at Saudi Arabia. But it is undertain that he might race at Abu Dhabi.
For a Finn this is great to see that even Yankees are in to the F1 despite FIA!
I'm a pretty big Heikki fan haha i've always wanted to do something for him but I know there's not enough out there looking for his content
yay it's finally here!!!!
thanks for the patience !
Logan Sargeant is pretty talented and he’s handsome as well😘
It would be a "shame" if he decides to go to Indy instead. Great video btw, I like your voice
I know what you mean - nothing wrong with Indy but to come ALL this way. i'd love to see him racing regardless and it would be great but yeah I know what you mean
After watching this video, I had to agree with the situation where Sargeant has no F1 team backing. Sargeant is in a huge gauntlet to impress top teams. Same thing goes to Frederick who only has US backing. And he had no other backing other than his sponsor. A great feat for an American who was never in a F1 driver program. We hope Zak Brown gets him on board in a McLaren F1 car to see if he is worthy to be developed.
It is a new decade and this could be it in US motorsport. Another US driver that I did place on the list is Spike Kohlbecker who finished 2nd in the British Formula Ford 1600 series in 2019. He is currently racing in the states due to the pandemic. It also goes to the Brazilian-born American Bruno Carneiro who won the 2016 Chinese Formula 4 championship and finished 2nd in the Formula Renault Asia series in 2019. Another honorable mention is Jaden Conwright who finished 3rd in the FIA F3 Asia series in 2018. Went on to race Porsche Cup Italia finishing 4th, only to be forced into the sidelines due to pandemic.
Yeah at some point I should circle back for ALL American drivers but for me it’s just bc they are American I’d make a video like this for any driver who didn’t have exposure but had results and lining up an F1 seat. Just icing on the cake Logan is American haha but you’re right there’s tons of talent right now from the states if people actually look - your examples are spot on
The most plausible thing that will happen with Sargeant is that he stays in F3 for the next year. Piastri goes to Schumacher's seat in F2 and if Sargeant finishes ahead of Vesti in F3 next year, he's got a strong shot at going to IF there's an open seat. From there, who knows. 2022 might be even more chaotic than 2020.
you're mixing FDA and renault though. piastri will likely get an F2 seat along with theo as it appears he got entry in the last two. I think logan's best option will be to catch a ride in F2 but I'm sure he's being mindful of the team he joins. while the machinery is closer to full spec, the team will matter in your ability to find the points
41 minutes! Let's gooooo
made with love through to the very end. got painful at times protecting against a copyright strike but It's been a very worthwhile process regardless of what the video does
feature length baby let's go
It was a welcome surprise to hear The Star Spangled Banner being played on the podium ceremony.
Hes got my vote!
Great news in the European front. Logan Sargeant just won the reverse grid event at Sochi and scores a P4 in the feature. This has moved Sargeant to P7 in the final standings helping Charouz to finish in the top 5 in the team standings in 5th. It will be interesting if Charouz Racing would give Logan a chance to compete in the last 2 FIA Formula 2 events and join Enzo Fittipaldi this season. I want to see this happen. This shows proof that Sargeant has what it takes to enter the Formula 2 field. But it will take at least $2 to $3 million as all entry fees are getting higher every year. Jak Crawford managed a 5th in the feature ending his F3 season in 13th. Juan Manuel Correa finished 21st in the standings with a 9th place finish to show for in the sprint race. Kaylen Frederick finishes 22nd.
Crawford has 1 event to go. He will return to the Euro Formula Open season finale at Barcelona. Crawford for sure he could be kept by RBR. He made a great impression at the Red Bull Ring wining 2 races. But the US has their minds on Cameron Das who won 2 races at Monza while his rival Louis Foster got shut-out this weekend. Das needs a minimum 59 points to clinch the Euro Formula Open title. But will have to wait 1 month to possibly see history.
And just learned that Andretti Auto Sport is attempting to enter the Formula 1 field and are targeting Sauber Alfa.
I hoped for a team to re-consider testing out Josef Newgarden. He has the necessary points for a Super License.
I sort of knew of/raced with his brother in sims a few times. Dalton ran some low level national ARCA and NASCAR races. Hopefully he can make it.
dalton also is a beast
I know of Dalton Are they related
@@jamesgentry13 Yes, brothers
Dalton no longer races anymore and he’s never usually active on social media, is he ok?
2021 might look great for the current drivers. Crawford, Frederick are very keen to move up. But the case of Sargeant is pretty grim due to no affiliation with a development program. Same thing goes for Frederick despite winning the British F3 title, and Das who struggled in FIA F3. But rallied to finish 6th in the Euro Formula Open.
But about the other US drivers such as Reece Ushijima who scored numerous podiums in British F3 due to reverse grid starts and just recently the Dane-born American Benjamin Pedersen who scored his maiden win in the final event at Silverstone. We hope they return
Newcomers that I can think is CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy champion Connor Zilisch, Team USA Scholarship winner and 3rd in the Walter Hayes Trophy Bryce Aron who finished 5th in the Formula Ford 1600 UK Series. They may look at entering Formula 4.
What I do not understand is why The FIA USF4 series and the Formula Regional Americas have become a Road To Indy program. These series should have impulse them into the FIA F3 series. What would have been if Kyle Kirkwood took the FIA F3 path? Andy why as an F3 champ was never sent to Macau last year?
Id love to see him drive for Haas if they find their form again. Having a American drive for the American F1 team would be great.
Maybe Ferrucci or herta in 2022
@@kurtperleberg8669 As long as any of them can win the Indy Car Championship and keep the 40 Superlicense point requirement. I only wished for Herta if he was given an F3 test. F3 should have had him.
