In this video, Dr. Berg talks about sprouts and added nutrition. This is because you are riding phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors. All vitamins are enhanced and minerals released. You also get more protein release (by 30% more). Broccoli sprouts have 50x more phytonutrients (sulforaphane) than adult broccoli.
I recommend making your sprouts at home, this way you control the quality and they are very inexpensive.
    HOW TO SPROUT:

    indianhealthyrecipes.com/mung...
Sprouting releases much more nutrition. Sprouting rids phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors allow the minerals to be available to you.

I have been sprouting my own broccoli sprouts seeds at home for the past couple of months. The process is simple and much more economical than purchasing them from the store (my grocery store charges $3 per pint). With my home growing method, I’m able to consume a cup of fresh broccoli sprouts every day in my huge bucket salad. (I call my salad my bucket salad because it’s enormous lol.)

I have some Mason Jars with Special tops that have a screen in them... You can usually buy them at a health food store. I put a Tablespoon of seeds into the 1 L jar and fill it about half, with water. Let that sit for about 8 hours to hydrate the seeds, then (with the lids on) drain that water and rinse the seeds w/more water, Drain and let sit for another 8 hours. Make sure the seeds are drained enough... I turn my jars upside - down for a few minutes to make sure there is no free-standing water in the jar. Do it again, before you go to bed and again when you wake up. You have to keep the seeds moist but Not water-logged... Continue the procedure until your seeds have sprouted and have grown to the size you want... They will look like Alfalfa sprouts, so I mark the jars with a label that reminds me what is in which jar... Obviously, I make several types of sprouts... Hope it works for you... Oh! There are several videos on sprouting seeds, in CZcams... :-) Oh! If the Seeds are not Organic - they won't sprout...

The tase is very strong with a hint of horseraddish. This being my first time sprouting I can´t help but wonder is the batch bad or do sprouts from differant seeds taste so dif? I got some sprouts at the store and they seemed way milder in taste. My sprouts are not completly green, could this explain the strong taste? The taste is´nt bad as I like stronger flavors. Some ppl say that they don´t have to turn green and some say that turning green means more nutrition? Would love your feed back DStray Cat. Dr. Berg has been great. Dr. Berg, wouldn't the benefits of sprouting carry on to grains? I cannot find research regarding this and I just hate pricking myself to test blood insulin to find out.
Could it be that the reason grains cause insulin havoc in our bodies is because in the last century instant gratification and convenience has influenced how we eat, cook, and store our foods?
Back in the day, our grandparents soaked, sprouted, and fermented just about everything. Refrigerators have made fermenting pretty much obsolete in many homes, and processed foods have taken the place of sprouting our seeds and grains -we buy whatever is convenient and cheap (enriched all purpose flour, or worse -store bought cupcakes). We want it cheap too. So, if there is a bag of enriched wheat flour for $2 and organic non gmo sprouted spelt flour for $7, we'll pick the wheat flour because the end-tasting result is very similar. Or, we simply buy the $1 pre-sliced bread! Why not? Especially, when the FDA doesn't tell us these things are killing us slowly!
    Anybody found research on this?

I just bought one small pack of bean sprouts and on the packaging external it states vitamins like dietary fibre, sodium and proteins only. It never states all the other vitamins like K and iron. Wonder why?

Dearest Dr. Berg, I'm trying to figure out how to enhance Keto and OMAD by replacing some of my required 7 cups of leafy greens per day, with home grown sprouts. Can you help me know how many ounces of sprouts and microgreens will replace how many ounces of leafy greens? I'm thinking that it won't be ounce for ounce, as the sprouts are so much more nutritionally dense.

One drawback, the average grocer or supermarket does not carry out these items. We have to seek and find farmers who will grow and ship those products to us (P.S. I am not in USA). Can you give a longer list of sprouts ?
