- Design Options in conjunction with Modules open up all sorts of interesting possibilities in Archicad. I'm not an expert in the use of Modules and Hotlinks, so please view this video as more inspiration than ideal protocol. This is the fourth (and for now final) part in my series on Design Options in Archicad 27. If you haven't already watched the previous videos, or want to watch them again, here's some links:

This video was created using the Shoegnome Open Template and the Shoegnome Work Environment for Archicad 27. Links below:

As always the template and work environment are free; a good Archicad template (and work environment) is too important to horde. If you want to click the PayPal button on the template or work environment pages to support my endeavors and encourage future development, that's wonderful. Whenever people do that, it makes my day.
Hey Jared, my best decision was to watch this video to start my day, it just made me laugh so much. This is great, really fun and informative, keep it up! Cheers from the Graphisoft HQ :)
Thank you! Toilets are always the best example to use whenever possible. :)
Epic!! Love your work Jared. 👊🏻
Thank you!
this is a great series!!! thanks for making it clear!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
As always, thanks for leading the way and sharing your knowledge.
😄 you're welcome!
thanks for the video. very helpful.
might i suggest doing another about what elements can't typically be linked to a Design Option but requires a slight workaround? you've mentioned the doors in the video. might do well to do the same thing with windows & the Opening Tool.
I'll add that to the list of bonus items to discuss in a future video, assuming there's enough stuff.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Really cool!
Thanks a lot - that opens up a whole new world in the design process. With this method, it seems to be possible to create something similar to visibility states of block definitions in autocad.
A feature that I've been missing for years in ArchiCad.
Is there anything special to pay attention to in terms of schedules within the design options?
I'm excited to try it out!
Thanks again! 👍
Schedules are simple. They only look at what design options are visible. So there's really nothing special you need to do other than make sure you have the schedule set to the right design option combination. That's why I recommend in an earlier video to set all your views to a "proposed scheme" D.O. combo so that you can quickly update that D.O. combo and get all your views and schedules to display accordingly.
@@Shoegnome thank you! 🙂👍
You're welcome
sorry if i missed it...are renovation filters independent of the design options? [ie, I can look at how Option k with Even More Toilets affects the Existing/Demo/New?] thx for your efforts in developing these vids!
Renovation filters/status work with design options. Any element on a design option can be new, existing, or demolition. But an element can only have one renovation status and be on one design option. So if you want Wall A to be existing in Option 1 and demolished in Option 2, then you need two Wall As.
