My grandmother had a fight tree in her yard. We loved picking them off the tree and eating them. She made a lot of fig preserves. My sister is growing one I her yard. It had one fig this year.
My mom always made us taste of everything before we were allowed to say we didn't like something, so now the only thing out of all the food in the world that I don't like is black eyed peas = cos I don't like the way they smell when cooking! Thanks mom!! 💜💜
My mom would make a chocolate sheet cake. Too with fig and then too that with chocolate frosting……..all homemade. Delicious!! Also Brenda,one piece of parchment on the bottom of the bread pan can help it come out better. (Also run a knife around edges)👍
I’m really surprised that you didn’t add the sugar to the wet ingredients. It’s considered a wet ingredient because it turns liquid when heated. I’m just if that’s your way or did the recipe call for doing it that way?
I might strawberry jailie out of mine when I get done with them they taste exactly like strawberries my kids holler they don't like figs so they love strawberries so I made strawberries jam out of boy it's good

I have 2 fig trees in pots , bring in during winter months. Last year they produced over 100 figs .my kids love right off the tree s😊

I've only had dried figs. Never had fresh figs. I don't think they have them in my stores (far south suburb of Chicago).
I got a big fresh container of them recently at Cost co, check there if you have one nearby.
