Roberto‘s character was not only to me the most heroic hero in all of Cinema. But the movie itself shows that the beauty of life is not about things always being good but that you yourself are what makes life beautiful, your hope makes life beautiful love makes life beautiful and those things can circumvent the darkness in any situation. By the end when the father is marched off and we know he is killed We do not see it as a loss. For he won. He overcame and he was victorious in protecting that hope and love and beauty and his son. Honestly one of the most beautiful films ever made

I watched this in school once and it was great. One thing that always stands out to me is how it doesn't look like a 90s film at all, the color and the overall visual feel make it seem much older.

Yeah, I would agree there, it looks more like a 70s or 80s movie but I think that adds to its nostalgic fable charm.

This movie largely influenced how i handled a situation in my life. And it took that bitter teen and turn them into a hopeful adult. Life Truly is Beautiful

Nice review. One of the best films I have ever seen. 80%? Nothing less than a 9/10 if not 10/10 for me. I saw it in the theater b2x and own it in various formats. Movie from the title, opening and ending is all about Hope to me.

I remember watching this in high school. I was so embarrassed because I cried so much at the end and couldn’t bring myself to leave my seat. My teacher sat quietly with me until I was ready to leave for the next lession

@@JimTheMovieGeek Oh wow spanish! There are a lot of very good movies from them, the argentinian director I remember ,, I watched Gaston Duprat,, the Argentinian spanish is quite difficult to understand sometimes tho. I noticed he has some of those recurring skits and characters types too.

If you think the movie shows the camp "jovially" then the movie succeeded in its purpose.

When this movie came out, I liked the movie. After years I started to hate this movie. No, this product is actually overrated! I liked "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" (2008) even better, although both are WW2 Holocaust movies for beginners.
