    I've stayed at that One Oasis through Airbnb couple years ago. I rented a 1br/studio room for $22 per night for 4 weeks. Saved me lots of money by not staying at the hotel ($70 per night). One Oasis was great, laundry service you mentioned just outside was very convenient and cheap. The big plus about staying at One Oasis was it's right next to SM Mall, I did some grocery shopping, morning walks/jogs...really great location..thanks for the vid Reekay, enjoyed it..

    I stayed there about a year ago. It was ok for me. The guards were very nice to guests but for me I don't like the Ecoland Mall that's down the road from the place.The pharmacy down the road was good as I had some allergy issues while in Davao. Also I should have asked if there was a dumpster there because the trashcan the host had was VERY small. Hot water went out as well and I thought I could check in early per discussion with the host but she rented the place out by the time I arrived and super jetlagged. I would have rented it an extra day if I would have known she would sell it. I stayed in a 2/1 and I liked the setup. Depending on where I settle with my long term plans I may buy a condo by abreeza mall. If you have a good host then you will be good to go at one oasis. There were some other condos on that street as well and many Taxi drivers willing to take you anywhere. Even at 4am I was able to get a cab with no problems.

    Stayed there a couple of years ago and enjoyed it . We had a two bedroom so there was plenty of space, even included a washing machine. It was a ground floor unit and was diagonally located from the pool which I took full use of. very comfortable, plus right next door to the mall, easy to access by walking.

    Henry you're lucky to get your cc to work with Grab. I tried at home but it won't work. Some people on Tripadvisor said they got it to work when they arrived in Asia. I arrived at Terminal 1 and tried inputting my cc information but it said that it can't take my cc. So I pay in cash every time I use Grab.
    As for Airbnb I checked out some around Manila metro but I notice the hosts tend to ask for a deposit. One lady wanted $1,500 deposit in case the visitor breaks anything. I read that Airbnb gives coverage to hosts for damage property= at least in the USA. Maybe they don't give coverage in the Philippines which would be unfair. But if they do then some of the hosts are probably trying to scam people. I can't imagine giving someone $1,500 deposit for Airbnb and expect them to not claim I broke something so they are taking $1,000. Also many hotels in metro Manila are affordable. I'm staying in one now that costs a little over $27 a day. I get breakfast for two persons. I get wifi that is super fast. And I'm in a central area within walking distance of Robinson's Plaza. I went in there to buy a pair of shorts. One that I brought ripped when I got into a jeepney. That was really funny walking around like that. What an experience. A lady in the mall wanted to give me her phone number asking me if I am looking for someone she is available. I never expected something like that in a mall in the Philippines. Also with the Airbnb I saw in the ads you have to pay a cleaning charge and a fee. I wonder if it's the same in Davao asking for a deposit?

      i called my card company before i flew out so that they could have a 'travel notification' that i'd be using my card in the PH for those 2 weeks. so, that averted that issue. my card is also attached to my money-management account, and they are very travel-friendly since it's used mostly by investors and businessmen who travel.

      Do you have a good recommendation for a hotel in Manila that is close to everything? This will be my first visit. Also do you get a burner phone or a new SIM card . Thanks,

    • @DimplesLife
      @DimplesLife Před 4 lety

      @@patrickmanley4943 You don't need a burner phone or a new sim card if your service provider is T- mobile. Just let them know that you are traveling to the Philippines and they will unlock your phone so that you can use it. I was in the Philippines earlier this year and never had a problem using my phone even in Thailand and Korea. And if you plan to travel in the province, buy a pocket wifi it comes in handy. It cost $24 including the load for a week then every week you need to buy load for$5. I bought my pocket wifi at SM mall. They also sell it at the airport NAIA there is a kiosk towards the exit going out to the parking garage at terminal 3.

My reason is you don't have to leave your passport with the hotel, you can keep the AC on all day if you want unlike hotels where you have to return the key which shuts the power off.
