    Great points you made Henry about 40 plus year old women. As you know, I am 57 BUT I stay active and am sometimes adventurous and decided a while back to concentrate on women in their 30's from the Philippines. Here in the USA, it is expected that I date a woman in her late 40's or early 50;s BUT GUESS WGAT? They are NOT the type for me because of what you said. Too many requirements, too old fashion, and too old on their ways. I stay young, look young, and FEEL young and that's what I'm looking for!

    Guys, gals, everyone. It is rather simple. "Everyone wants a good deal in relationships". That simple. Researchers and therapists have done lengthy studies about this. But the key to long-lasting relationships is selflessness. Love is supposed to be about selflessness, not selfishness. Now, find someone who is crazy about you for starters, i.e. Attraction. It has to start with Attraction. Not money.
    Single mothers by and large have maternal instincts where you most likely will be relegated to utility status.

    30 years of experience here in the PH and dealing with the people...Seldom if ever will you find a pinay between the ages of 20 and 25 (or even 30 for that matter quite frankly) that a) doesn't already have a kid(s) and may lie about it for the sake of preserving the relationship with a foreigner who's the meal ticket OR b) wants to have kids BUT for the sake of a relationship with an older foreigner who doesn't want to have kids she lies about it (it's part of their retirement plan in the PH)...Almost never will you find one that's honest about NOT wanting having kids...The society and culture is set up herre around having kids and being part of a big family...Good luck though on your search...

    As you know, I've been in Vietnam as long as you have. I have meet many single women here that range from their 20's to 40's. Most don't even bring up the subject of a long term relationship. They are curious about you and just want to know more about where you came from and what are you doing in Vietnam. I guess that is just the precursor to wondering if you are a potential partner/bf/husband. Early on, I bring up the fact that I have a Filipina girlfriend for the sake of full disclosure and am not really interested in dating. My intentions are to be just friends. Here In Vietnam, once you make that disclosure, they women quickly lose interest. In the Philippines, the women there don't seem to care if you have a gf or not.
    Your plan to meet a Filipina and then explore the possibility if they want to travel with you and be spontaneous is great. You are right in the fact that older women are set in their ways and are less accommodating to your needs, goals and desires, no matter what country they are from. You will become a low priority after time, usually 90 days. LOL
    Stick to your plan, but try to be open about a kid. Hard to avoid a girl in her 20's that doesn't want kids or already has one. They truly can be a blessing and a joy. I thought I never wanted kids again either, but it was the woman that I loved that brought me 2 adorable kids that gave my life purpose now. You're still young. You can bring a lot of joy and happiness to someone else and end up realizing that you too are happy.
    Just saying,
    Mark

I’d like to see Hoi An and Hanoi still, and I might go back to Davao for another look on my next trip to Philippines, but so many places I haven’t yet seen. I don’t think honestly, that I will ever settle down again, and I think after a couple of longer relationships, I’ll just date for a while. Davao City, is in my opinion the safest place to live in all of the Philippines. Lots of Police and Military Presence 24/7 everywhere. Of course its Duterte's hometown. Its clean, well organized, traffic isn't as bad as elsewhere in the Philippines. Very honest and cheap taxis, all metered. And compared to Makati prices are about half for food, restaurants, etc.. And if you're looking for a real pinoy hottie - Davao is the place for you. Go to the nightmarket and chat with the ladies.

    Is it true you’re having difficulty finding female companionship in Vietnam?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  Před 4 lety +1

      yes and no, depends on the generality of your question. i have dated about 8 vietnamese women of ages from 20 to 46 during my first 6 months in vietnam. and had a 3-month relationship with one. another friend of mine is currently dating 3 vietnamese women at the same time. another expat i know has had about 5 vietnamese women in the last year.
      the better question is, "is there difficulty in finding female companionship with younger women?". again, depends on the age of the expat. expats under 45 seem to have no problems dating vietnamese women in their 20's.. but it's often casual dating, not a relationship.
      meanwhile, expats over 45 will find it requires more work and patience to date a younger vietnamese woman beyond friendship-level.
