    My Story:
    After 49 years of doing the hamster-wheel in California, I finally left it all
    and decided to see what Southeast Asia had to offer. I moved to the Philippines
    for 6 years, experienced some of the best times of my entire life!
    Now, I am exploring again and living in Vietnam. Join me as I venture out to see
    more of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. I will share with you my thoughts on
    what I see and how I handle the various challenges of living as a full-time expat

    The Flak Sack goes with me almost every day. Not only does it provide the necessary security for my camera and hardware, it also serves as a tote bag for my shopping. Unfortunately, it isn't quite large enough for my 15" laptop, but that's where the new backpack would come in more useful. It's definitely going on my list of the things to buy when I have another balikbayan box shipped over to me in the Philippines.

    I think one of the most important aspects of the bags, is the water resistance.... Out in the rain, it is easy to have your stuff get soaked... When I was in the Army, we had waterproof bags that housed everything from your clothes to your sleeping bag... It is very important to have dry clothes in the bush... Thanks for the video, Henry...

    If you want your stuff waterproofed, just spray waterproofing fabric spray on your bag, or cover your bag with a garbage bag, another trick is to use waterproof bags to stick inside the bag it’s easy. Get creative with waterproofing. You can buy the spray off of the internet or at Walmart.
    Hope my advice helps

      the backpack is very comfortable for all-day. the flacksack (smaller) i only use for security, since the backpack version is much more comfortable. the small satchel is nice for weekend trips to just hide the cards, money, passport.

  • @ffwest12
    @ffwest12 Před 5 lety

    you say you can replace the lock on the cinch pack, but it looks to be attached to the strap. Can it be removed and if you do how do you attach another lock to it. I have a flak sak and do not like the combo lock that comes with it because its so easy to accidentally reset the combo. It looks like the lock on the back pack is very similar.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  Před 5 lety

      while the combo-lock cannot be removed, you can still use your own alternate lock by using the steel ring which is part of the strap.

    Reekay, people seem to really like this bag. The only complaint that i've heard of is that the combination on the lock
    is easy to accidentally reset. Have you ever had this problem?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  Před 4 lety

      i haven't had that issue, but then i'm careful with my things. the same happened to a friend of mine on his luggage padlock (not a loctote) and he didn't know the combo after he accidentally changed it by pulling out the metal u-bar.
      but i've used the loctote with an alternate key-lock which i got at the hardware store. mostly i use the combo lock if i don't want to carry a key like when i'm swimming or traveling so i don't lose the key.
