Sorry, I read the script crooked and didn't catch it in editing. The combo still works with Avenger, it's just that the tokens are created on ETB not on Landfall. Same premise, and it applies to about 10,000 amazing possible tricks you can do with this card.
I just posted this then refreshed and yours was up a minute before mine lol.
This trick actually works insanely worse for everyone sitting on the other side of the table. Cause the tokens all get the etb trigger. That's 81 0/1 tokens. That's an additional 72 tokens for 1 blue mana. Then you drop that same land you mentioned and they're all now 1/2. Someone better have a board wipe. And got forbid it was a fetchland....

Don’t forget that all the transformed plants are actually Avengers of Zendikar and will each trigger landfall so each land adds +1/+1 counters equal to the number of Avengers.
@Daniel Mathews No.. The wording of the card is "The NEXT time that a creature would enter the battlefield," not "ANY time"...so the Avenger enters, and you cast Reflection with the trigger on the stack... That would make the tokens made by Avenger into copies of Avenger, but then after that, it would be the SECOND time that creatures would enter the battlefield, and that would NOT trigger Mystic Reflection, as it only triggers off the first time...however, that still could make a TON of tokens, and if you then play a land, all those tokens would then get bigger.
The same idea applies to Master of Waves....Nikachu MTG showed a graph that another player made(I don't remember who), that showed how many tokens you get off of Master of Waves with Mystic Reflection being used, and it's exponentially immense based off of how much Devotion to Blue that you had before casting the Master... Something to the tune of over 800 power on the board with like...4 Devotion before casting Master...which is not difficult.

Do you know how many singles come in a box of Collector's Booster Box and a Set Booster Box?! I would be crazy not to!! Look at how many foils you get, and they most certainly fixed the problem from Commander Legends (even though they said that they product was not defective since the foils didn't come curled in the pack, even though there is documented evidence of the cards already being curved when the pack is open)...right?
Like, that is a LOT of singles which you can then try to sell and get more singles in the off chance you accidently didn't get the cards you really wanted.

Jokes on you, Prof. The pot dispensery is actually ACROSS THE STREET from my LGS.
Pot is legal where i live, they outnumber LGS by 10 to one.
I am jealous. I can't wait for the backwards South (where I live) to catch up to modern times, so I can have a similar setup. If I want actual weed, I still have to meet someone in a parking lot for a secret exchange like a criminal. Right now I'm settling for D8, because that is legal, and due to my situation, that is something I now have to consider (I don't mind breaking unjust/racist laws).
P.S. My situation is that just before Covid lockdowns (last March) a tornado hit my apartment complex, which was then condemned, so I had to move in with my mom (who is immune-suppressed). It was supposed to be short-lived (couple months), but then the pandemic hit, and we were completely locked down (mainly for her safety). She doesn't like intoxicants, and barely tolerated me legally vaping D8, so unless its my birthday, I eschew actual weed for her sake (which I have smoke for 20 years). Man, I can't wait until I can smoke actual plant again- I miss it so. Vaping D8 is better than nothing, but really is a poor substitute.

Point of order: Boast doesn't require the creature to deal damage to a player. It just needs to have attacked. So it can be activated at ant time after attacks have been declared.
It’s a darn shame *Scrying Sheets* wasn’t reprinted in this set. Card is stinking expensive, and would’ve been a natural fit for a snow-centric set.
I would've expected it to be on The List this set. A bit disappointing tbh.

wouldn't that mean that all copies enter as more Avengers, which then each make a bunch of copies, so then your landfall trigger suddenly gets you a huge buff to a metric tonne of plants?

Unfortunately my LGS doesn't carry singles from the newest set for like a month at least and usually will never have the cards people want the most except for the exact moment that someone cracks a booster and trades in one of those cards.
No one cares. Just buy singles, damnit!! But seriusly, how can we support our LGS if all we do is buy singles off of amazon?

I absolutely love Foretell as a mechanic, there's so many cards with it that slot just so easily into my various decks, with Saw It Coming looking like a potential powerhouse.

I am building a deck for the Koll I preordered. I know you didn't have him as a commander, but he feels like a great support for a Boros deck that can swing with a bunch of different legendaries. I'm so excited to play it!

@@lordgriselbrand4600 There is dozens of playable tap lands and A World Tree is the strongest effect amongst all of them. It is objectively twice better than any triome.
Loved the video prof! Just one thing. The ETB trigger on Avenger is the one that makes tokens, the Landfall one pumps them. So you'd want to respond to Avenger's ETB trigger with Mystic Reflection, not its Landfall trigger!
Thank you for making me realize this is what I sound like when I tell stories of playing Magic in 1995 to Magic players born in 2004. Back in my day six mana for a 3/3 with first strike was OP, and we used to have this ability called banding which was super powerful if you knew how it worked!
Honestly elixir is bad beacuse I use my life as a resource most of the time. I rarely have more than my starting life total. Not to say it can't go into my white decks.
Me: "this would make a great white card."
WotC: "let's make it colourless so we can get more cash."
Mystic reflection is such a cool card. I really want some of the uncommon lands for my decks. Reanimation, copy effects, token creation, and aura/equipment tutors.
Grabbing Elixer stat. As well as some elf cards to slot into the elf precon. I'm not used to having shocks for land types in most of my decks because of budget reasons, so the more and more I think about the common dual cycle the more apparent it is what I can do with it.

Never thought of EDH before, mainly because non of my close friends really play magic. I do plan on putting together a deck after covid and going back to my local game store
Yeah I got me 2 of each full art dual modal lands. They are really nice because they don't come in tapped. It will go really well in my Thrasios/Tymra and 4c Omnath decks which are my somewhat competitive decks.
I'll definitely look into mystic reflection for the omnath deck since it's all about making tokens through landfall. Thanks Prof
so tired of seeing blue get everything every other color wants, and more. it's very clearly the favorite color of those who design at wotc, and it's quite unfair.

I like "Halvar, God of Battle" it fits nicely into every equipment deck... without creating any bad feelings in the group.

Am keen on grabbing Tibalt cosmic imposter for my Tariel sack, theft & recurr deck. Already sorted mana for higher cost spells, so his stealing top cards is gonna accent the steal aspect of this deck nicely. 😁

I can't play Cmmander (at the moment), but I like a lot of the tribal boost on Kaldheim, from the tribes on the set to the synergies about play tribal strategies. There are 3 dragon-related, and I like the giants and the trolls too.
No mention of Dream Devourer? This seems like such a good card to break parity on discard effects, securing the hand from wheels and to do something with big black mana when the situation hasn't arisen yet to cast things (with 2 discount on following turns).
I got 4 of them for Oona (Faeries and flash tribal), Xantcha (Discard and small boardwipes) and Mono black (Monoblack control and stax). One for future decks or perhaps for Zaxara (securing specific pieces for future use is very helpfull)
I've been hyped for Mystic Reflections for a budget lil Talrand Polymorph Deck I just made!
So many great commander cards in this set. Foretell is my new favorite mechanic!

So many good interactions for this card. Just in mono white, it can find staples like Elspeth Sun’s Champion and Serra’s Sanctum. But also it can find, say, Alhammerret’s Archive to go with that Cosmos Elixir doubling up your card draw and helping make sure you’re always over 40 life.
