A reminder if anybody plays this.. Confusion in the Ranks swaps with an enchantment in play by its own effect. So not only are you stealing a creature a turn for free.. but you can also snag some sweet enchantment in the process.
Norin is the best. I lowkey wish he got errata'd to have the Coward creature type.

My favorite evil combo is flickering eater of days to skip an infinite number of turns (I'll leave out this setup for everyone's safety). Then cast teferi's protection and go make a sandwich. Whoever's left at the table now have to play through an indeterminate number of turns to see if they have a way to not deck them selves.
Instructor, hire this person.
Unless of course one of them has Thassa's Oracle
You'll need to figure out if any of them have a 'win the game' effect in their decks before doing it of course

A much easier way to set this up is with Lethal Vapors. You activate the ability any number of times in response to itself, then let it die. Then just cast Teferi's Protection. It's better to let it die before playing Teferi's Protection so no one else realizes what's happening (or they could just skip their turns, too)
I don't run many combos, but videos like this always help me recognize what pieces I should be afraid of/targeting for my friend's other combos. Thanks Professor!
My favorite combo is lands + spells
I think together that combo is responsible for every win I have.
I've tried using just one of the two, but it rarely works.

Speaking of "Crashing IRL Magic", Two of my favorite ways to do this is as follows:
Sporemound + Life and Limb - A mono-green infinite Saproling spawn that never ends! Add in Red and cast Chord of Calling on the Stack for Cosi's Ravager or Tunneling Geopede to turn it into a Wincon!
Lich's Mirror + Donate/Harmless Offering - This one requires that your opponent actually dies from Poison or a "Lose the Game" effect after the fact, but when they do, Lich's Mirror attempts to prolong their life indefinitely by retriggering repeatedly to stave off death, resulting in a glitch!

Not sure if you know about this combo, but my favorite combo is a ton of artifacts, Powerstone shard, Masterful Replicatoin to turn your artifacts into a Powerstone Shard, and the either Jaya's Immolating Inferno or Crackling with Power to blow up every single player at once for a boatload of damage. It's my win con in my Jhoira, Weatherlight captain deck
I did this in standard with Aetherflux Reservoir and Paradox Engine. Was so fun running storm in standard again.
I had a historic deck that did just this with Finale of Glory. Fun times.
Also good with Brudiclad in command. Turn all your Myr, Thopter and Treasure tokens into Powerstone Shards and channel >200 mana through a Goblin Cannon for Hilarity.

Am I missing something or does beck not also require a commander in white? I'm pretty sure split cards require you to have a commander of both colors of each side.
You're correct, Idk how the hell prof missed something this obvious.
It's more convoluted, but you can use Elemental Bond and any Anthem effect to essentially turn the entire combo into Gruul only.

Word of warning for Hell's Staff: Because the Sac is part of the COST of Caretaker's activated ability, the Thornbite Staff would trigger before you get a creature back. This is why the combo is fragile; You would have to wait for the effect to resolve in full before using the Helltaker again unless you're willing to sac a second creature, so if someone interrupts your Caretake with a Tormod's Crypt, a Cremate, or any similar grave exile effect, you end up not only failing to resolve Caretaker but are also **down** a creature.

That was buggering me for the rest of the video. Are we able to ignore that white because both halves are à different spell? Stating that we aim to play Beck but not Call?

There's a problem, sadly beck // call cannot be used in non white deck because of its colour identity (which is white, blue and green). Still is a good replacement if you don't have a mentor in play

Another good way of doing Magda combos is with Magda+Clock of Omens+Liquimetal Torque! The Torque makes Magda an artifact, then you can tap Magda and Clock of Omens to make a treasure and target Magda. She untaps, then you tap Magda and the treasure to make another, rinse and repeat. Then just find Academy Manufactor by sacrificing 5 treasures at some point to go infinite on mana, life gain, and card draw!

I was planning on making a Rakdos "group hug" with Blim Comedic Genius and that last combo is so EVIL and fits my group strangle theme so well. Thank you professor.
Nice Beetlejuice reference. Imagine him being part of the Universe Beyond line. Speaking of, I just can't stop thinking about Modern Horizons III: GI Joe and Secret Lair Lindsey Stirling. And if that's not evil thinking, I don't know what else is.
You can also perform a variant of Mirrorbout with Nivix Guildmage. Although it will cost one additional mana it gives you the ability to dig for your finisher. You can also tutor for it with Wizardcycle and other Izzet tutors. This includes Gamble, Imperial Recruiter, and Muddle the mixture.
I currently have a Kaza, Roil Chaser deck in the 50 dollar range that runs this combo and it has proven to be very effective. Especially since Kaza can help with the original cast of the spell and also the tutor for it (Invert // Invent).
There's also another wild loop in Bant that you can do with Fathom Mage, Horizon Chimera and Archangel of Thune or Sunbond on the Mage.
The next time you draw a card, the chimera triggers and gives you 1 life. The archangel's ability is that when you gain life, she gives all your creatures a +1/+1 Counter. Sunbond does the same thing to the enchanted creature. Fathom mage makes it so that whenever she gets a +1/+1 counter, you can draw a card. And the loop keeps going like that until either the archangel makes your creatures massive enough to win, the simic enchantment that makes you win when it gets 20 counters on it at the beginning of your upkeep, you have a Lab Maniac or War of the Spark jace or thassa's Oracle or something and just win. You can win on turn 5 or something like this. Probably sooner if you're lucky.
That is a classic one like Boonweaver Giant + Pattern of Rebirth + Saffi Erikdotters :P

My favorite silly combo is Party Bus. It's named after Lumbering Battlement, but it works with any 3 creatures that exile a creature on ETB then bring it back when it leaves the battlefield. Creature 1 exiles creature 2, then creature 3 exiles creature 1, which brings back creature 2 to exile creature 3 and brings back creature 1 to continue the loop. It only creates infinite ETB/LTB triggers so you need something like Purpheros to win, but it's fun. I run it in Commander with Nikara and Yannik so 1 combo piece is in the command zone.

You can use Gaea's Anthem and Elemental Bond to keep it in Green, but Beck//Call ain't gonna cut it

Great video, I always like to see new out there combos. One quick note, I don't think you can use Beck in a commander deck without white as Call has white in it's casting cost.
Can confirm, won't work
The combo I'm most proud of. Have vilis, blood celebrant, faith of the devoted, and skirge familiar on the field with one of the old eldrazi titans in your hand or deck. Discard any 2 cards from your hand with skirge familiar. Use 1 of the black mana to lose as much life as you want to draw as much as you want. Discarding with skirge familiar pays for faith of the devoted's cost. Discarding an old titan reshuffles the whole thing and lets you keep the process going. Also you can do this with split second on the stack cause everything is made of triggered abilities and mana abilities.
Wonderful to see the classic Chain Stasis in this video. I used to combine it with Reveka, dealing 2 extra points of dmg and take out some 4 toughness fatties 💪🏻
For Hell's Caretaker and Thornbite Staff, another card to use with it is Ayara, First of Locthwain. Drains your opponents whenever a black creature ETBs, including herself. The fact she's legendary also means you can run her as the commander (as I do)
One of my favorite combos while technically not infinite is Emeria Shepherd, Sakura Tribe Elder, and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove to get every basic outta your library, then paired with something like Rampaging Baloths it just gets so good.

Turnabout + reiterate is a combo I regularly use in my kalamax deck to generate infinite mana and make kalamax go infinite. I 10/10 would recommend casting commet storm or a similar card next to end the game. However if you wanna have fun rather than simply win the game, reiterate can copy any instant or sorcery you wish infinite times in this state!
Am I mistaken on the Meek Echoes of the Wild Combo? Professor said you can substitute Beck if you don't have access to white, but isn't Beck // Call a blue, green, and white card? I feel like that brings you back to just using mentor of the meek.

Man, I have a changeling commander deck full of jank combos that runs both Maskwood Nexus and Magda as it is. Now I'm REALLY tempted to squeeze Aphetto Alchemist in there.
While we're on the subject, I'm really proud of the jank combo I have in that deck as is: Artificial Evolution, Haakon, Stromgald Scourge, Notorious Throng, and any "Rogue" that can get in for combat damage.
You attack in with any Changeling or Haakon himself. Before damage is dealt target Haakon with Artificial Evolution changing the type Knight to Rogue. You can now cast Notorious Throng from your graveyard for its Prowl cost to get infinite turns and infinite 1/1 faerie tokens provided you keep hitting people.

I love this "Post Armageddon" grizzled edgy combo Professor.
The mirrorbout combo would also work with nivix guildmage, I think! Since guildmage doesn't care if the spell targets you, you can use the combo with similar untap spells like rude awakening/early harvest.
The Hell's Caretaker combo works with Intruder Alarm instead of Thornbite Staff and can be called "Hell's Bells"
My favorite under the radar combo is venser the sojourner and fall of the thran. Every turn land wipe is quite back breaking
An evil combo that I’ve never played was Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and Night of souls betrayal. You use Kamahl to turn an opponents land into a 1/1 creature for G, then it immediately dies to Night of Souls betrayal giving it -1/-1. This works betterwith Elesh Norn, because you can then animate your own lands into 3/3 and beatface with them
Another funny game-draw combo: Sporemound and Life and Limb. It happened and the table was mad. To be fair, someone responded by removing my sacrifice outlet.

At 10:46. You still need white in your color identity to run Beck since Call is WU.
That lich combo reminds me of another game drawing combo by casting a Polyraptor with Aether Flash or Marauding Raptor. Each Polyraptor copy gets hit for damage as they enter making another copy of Polyraptor that can't stop until you blow up the ETB damage trigger card.
My favourite combo is lifespark spellbomb + eradicate. Triger spellbomb on your opponent's basic land turning it into a creature, then eradicate that land. The wording on eradicate doesn't say anything about nonland, so you could wipe all copies of Island from your opponent's deck, hand and graveyard. It wont win but it will slow them down for sure!
Pemmin's Aura and Freed from the Real also offer infinite mana combo with Whitewood Channeler as well and only require one other elf creature to work.
For all People in Azorius+-Colours:
Enchanted Evening+Aura Thief is also a pretty mean combo, but you might need a sac outlet to make it work.
Or Enchanted Evening+Calming Verse/Cleansing Meditation basically do the Same thing, whereas the latter needs a bit more setup to function.
Or if you want to be a bit more „fair“, Enchanted Evening+Dockside Extortionist/Serra‘s Sanctum, that won‘t win you the game on the spot, but at least will generate a degenerate amount of mana.
I hereby conclude my presentation on why you should play more Enchanted Evening in your semi-competive/Combo-Decks, thanks for your attention!
As a commander player, I think infinite combos are ok as long as they require time or more than two cards to assemble. You can get infinite mana from Marwyn the Nurturer + Umbral Mantle (easy) or Sword of the Paruns. You can't win without other cards, but infinite G can do a lot of things. You can go the easy route and get Kamahl to make your creatures infinitely big with trample, or you can ping everyone and everything to death with Walking Ballista. I personally enjoy throwing 100 counters onto Helix Pinnacle and giving everyone a round to figure it out. You can seek out the Helix Pinnacle with Genesis Hydra.
For meek echoes Beck is certainly nice but doesn't Call being attached to it mean you need to be playing white to include it? Unless your playgroup allows you to play split cards where only one half matches your Color ID

A fun one that I've discovered recently is Scurry Oak + Cathar's Crusade. An infinite line of tokens and a gigantic scurry oak? Yes please.
My favorite game tie loop has to be enchant someone with Wheel of Sun and Moon the Helm of Obedience them for one.

Works with Rest in Peace and similar effects. Pretty neat death cannon in a control deck.
