Exactly my thoughts.. that's why when chase said that khabib is much better.. he was quick to remark that Islam was giving him space acknowledging that he was going easy on chase
Islam is built like a tank, if he's telling these guys to feel how hard his abs are, rest assured they're solid rock. He's allowing chase to experiment, and Islam is reacting. If Islam was proactive, Chase would have little to no chance of survival lol
Chase needs to get his man strength first and more experience before he can go 100% with Islam's skills, he is building Chase's confidence.

Islam is more athletic than khabib. Khabib got a better strategy and technique for takedowns and pressure which he honed but Islam is more complete. Islam has it all standup, on the ground, reactions, guile\craft.

Khabib is a UFC champion and he is just training with those "random" guys. He is just so cool with'em. He is the perfect champ man.

Islam's wrestling/grappling is so elegant and graceful. He performs these neat little tricks that are beautiful.
Khabib will indeed straight up maul you ... he looks like he's mastered the art of using an opponents strength against him. Not only in fights, but training as well. He gets them to use all their might a by taking his own strength down a few notches, providing them with a false sense of security. Bit by bit, he tires them out, and then he ups himself and goes in for the kill. You see him doing this time and again, and no where is it more obvious than in the Poirier match! But he does it in training as well, whenever he's taking on someone much bigger. It's an amazing strategy, but you have to be world-class to do it, cause it requires so much confidence and ability/experience.
Islam on the other hand seems to appreciate'dancing' with his opponents. He's all about sudden implosion, hitting you with a neat little trick from out of nowhere, getting you all dazed.
It's a real pleasure to watch.
Thanks so much for these videos. In addition to witnessing all the fun camaraderie, esp. the way in which DC keeps probing Khabib on this and that, and Khabib, bless him, he's so naturally competitive that when DC's messing around (and Khabib knows he is lol), telling him how he can "kill him" if he goes in all "100%", Khabib's like, "okay, let's go, let's go now boolshit guy" ... in addition to all this, watching these guys training is not only inspiring, but very educational.
