      English people never respect their players as long as they play for their rival clubs.
      No wonder they never give their all when playing for England.

      Smug caucasoid well said, and he still won lots of trophies with Liverpool, not the premier league but he's had his hands on every other cup, and not many players can say they have won the UEFA cup and the champs league in their career. And let alone the 5 cups in one calendar year! UEFA cup fa cup league cup community shield and UEFA supercup. He got young player of the year that season aswel and played a massive part in getting all those trophies.

      How did he change english football? He was a comprehensive failure for the international side, a useless england captain and he didn't even win a single league title in england.

    • @Cloud__ffvii
      @Cloud__ffvii Před 7 lety +1

      I don't need to have played at Gerrard's level to be able to comment on whether he "changed English football". He did not change English football whatsoever. He did nothing of any real worth for England that I can remember at all. He was part of the golden generation of English football players who came through at similar times (Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, G Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Terry, Sol Calmpbell, Ashley Cole, Rooney etc.) and they achieved nothing, In fact they even managed to not qualify for the Euros, so every one of them should really look on their international careers as a resolute disappointment. The only exceptions could be Beckham, because he clearly did revolutionise England and English football and has been a huge ambassador for English football across the world and Rooney because of his personal achievements e.g. becoming top goalscorer of all time in English football history. Gerrard did absolutely nothing for England and we have nothing to thank him for in that respect.

    • @Cloud__ffvii
      @Cloud__ffvii Před 7 lety +1

      MrBounce66 If Fergie had have signed he would have played second fiddle to Keane and Scholes in centre mid, or would have been pushed out right when Beckham moved to Real or been more of a utility player covering full backs etc. Gerrard's career would have stalled if he had have joined Utd because he wouldn't have had as much playing time nor the freedom that he had at Liverpool.

    I don't think any fan of any other club will ever realise how much Steven Gerrard means to the World of football . He stuck with Liverpool never winning a league title and for that I can commend him. He gave his heart and soul for the club, when realistically a move to another club would of probably gave him a better career in terms of winning trophies. He gave the fans some amazing memories! Anyone who doesn't realise what a phenomenal player he was is purely ignorant. Good luck in life after football Gerrard.

    Watching this man playing for last twenty years I truly learned to love the reds and the passion for the club continues after his retirement. He is the greatest red of all time and from time to time managed to keep lfc up the on the top of the world single handedly. All his commitment to the club over two decades - in highs and lows - is simply special and highly respected.
