In the 2012 Olympic competition a Greek player wore ΞΘ´ the greek version of the number although the rest of the team wore normal arabic numbers.

I thought the shoe ban got lifted last season where now any player can where any color way they want. For example: Jaylen Brown in last season's season opener, he wore mismatched shoes where one shoe was red and the other was blue despite the Celtics doesn't have that any of those colors.

I think it was before the Nike deal. So with Nike joining as the sole brand to produce stuff for the NBA, everything prior was deemed inappropriate
@@thebrunssss I believe this is wrong. I was into Supreme during the time of this specific collab (spring/summer '18), and it was a collab between Supreme, Nike, and the NBA. There were Air Force 1 Mid Tops that came out with them, and the arm sleeves had the Nike branding on them

I think banning the black masks or the Ninja style headbands is actually a bad decision. Escpecially the masks add drama e.g. fan interest. The NBA is silly sometimes.
I think the upside down logo may have had something to do with reference of flying the flag upside down, meaning distress. I guess the NBA thought it may construe the same thing.
You can still see Carmelo Anthony's WB-logo which, according to him, stands for West Baltimore.

I’m so happy they finally relaxed on the rules surrounding shoes, because the shoes they wear these days are so awesome. With all the different color ways , the individual paintings and drawings, and everything else they do to the shoes gives the players so much more individuality..

I agree with the banning of the karate headbands as the concerns are valid. Basketball is a contact sport and it might be pulled (accidentally or deliberately), which might cause serious injury to the player (it’s near the neck).

The Upside headband was just style. We were doing that before Rondo even made the NBA back in like '99-2002. It was swag back then....or having the logo to the back of your head. Jadakiss popularized in some of his music videos during that time.

Indeed , but you simply can't allow mechanical add-ons .. Even if everyone wanted to wear this to eliminate advantage , the NBA would lose shit loads of money (also Nike + Adidas) because they rely on sponsorships .. Other than that , basketball is a contact based sport.. If the springs gives you a big advantage , most likely you might lose balance during a rebound after a mild push and have horrific injuries..

Na its not. They don't tell players how to wear their hair since that is a very personal decision and affects their life apart from their job, which is to play basketball. And if they say you dont wear that shit while working thats that. Maybe I like wearing swimming trousers in the summer, but if I work as a insurance salesman, I'm sure as hell not wearing it to work. And whats the deal with that stupid headbands anyway, why would you wear them instead of just a normal one.
Max Malten I agree with you. Same reason why you shouldn’t wear gym shoes to work UPS or FedEx. You should only wear boots. FedEx changed that rule now, but even then I still wore boots. Steel toed as a matter of fact. I don’t want no heavy ass box falling on my foot and breaking it and there’s no way I can protect it.

I seem to remember that Amare had first a detached retina and then a partially torn iris that he had surgery on and then missed something like the final 8 weeks of the season for. After the second injury to the same eye it was stated that if re-injured it could have ended his career. I don't think it was a want to prevent so much as a need to prevent given the severity of his injury and the high risk of re-injury.
