Bynum is the reason "the process" in philly started
Hot Take: Bynum not succeeding in Philly is why the big man died in the NBA. Had he been healthy and not sharing the ball with Pau and Kobe, he's 25 and 12 easy in Philly
@@money0925 all the big men the sixers took are busts. Noel, Okafor, except embiid. Sweet lord Hinkie was con man and his followers are such dumb asses. tanking 7 years and 0 championships.
@@money0925 agreed........that was a hot take lol you think higher of Bynum than some. Was he pretty damn good, of course but to say he’s what caused the big man to vanish in obscurity iiiiiiiiidddkk brother. His style of play went out of style period. Al Jefferson was an underrated dog too but the league switched from under him as he aged. Wasn’t a player thing or lack of, definitely more of style that killed those kind of guys.

Same man, I remember screaming my heart out when he returned in the bubble, so sad to see what happened to him
He’s still rich, as long as he saves and invests his money, he’ll never have to work again
I mean he's still dating Rachel Demita, that's a w.
Tom Long well no shit but you know its deeper than that right? its not hard to feel bad for someone who had their dream job in their hands and have it all slip away because of an injury
Gabe Jimenez frfr mans bagged that baddie woberson goin crazyyy
I can’t believe Andrew Bynum really got hurt cause of a bowling thing
Bynums first knee injury happened when Kobe flopped on a play and fell into him. After that the league started giving fines for excessive flopping.
can't believe that dude was in cleveland. even the cavs dumped him hahah.
How about Kevin Love breaking his arm getting out of bed, or Derrick Rose cutting himself badly on a knife he forgot he had in bed with him when waking up from a nap? Lol. Now THOSE are especially pathetic and hilarious injuries to have to get you kept out of a lineup.
Bynum always was injury prone so it's not surprising that he has a short career

We know Roy Hibbert fell off sooner than we thought .. man just unbelievable
I swear once the NBA changed the rules of verticality he vanished overnight.
He was the number one victim of the NBA's change of game.
Well he was a very lumbering, slow footed center. And though he had the rebounding, defensive skills along with the physical strength of traditional big men, Roy Hibbert had no jumpshot. And while he was a focal point on those early 2010s Pacers teams, the years 2013-2015 was when we saw the rise of the stretch-five especially with Steph Curry making so many three pointers on high efficiency. And when the Warriors proved that small ball can win a title, NBA scouts started demanding that big men need to be mobile along with their offensive and defensive skills. Just look at guys like Giannis, Joel, and Serge Ibaka. Not only are they big and strong, but they are mobile and have decent jumpshots. Even Blake Griffin averaged 36% from 3 in Detroit.
He should’ve just stayed inside. Once he started shooting it was over 😂😂
@@eamparbeng The Warriors won a title with a slow and lumbering big man when they traded for Bogut. Hibbert just sucked.
I legit thought Kenneth Faried was Dennis Rodman with an explosive offensive game.
He would fit in GSW 🤷♂️
Hell nawl
Faried is not an all time great defender and he makes highlight plays but I wouldn’t call a guy who can barely crack 10ppg explosive
Love his game but the comparison ends at “they both rebound good”
@@anzelatoleikyte2083 faried was not a 1/10 of the defender rodman was
Monta Ellis too... he was cold for many years then disappeared from the Pacers
Saw him play live as a Warrior when Curry was a rookie 5-6 times . Ellis is stupid fast could of been a all time great
People don't realize: The Melo Experiment with the Thunder WAS WORKING.......until Roberson got injured. Melo's role on the Team completely changed after that to try and make up for their loss of Roberson. Before his injury, the Thunder truly were Contenders for the Title that Season.
Exactly
For real
They were about a piece away but Roberson going down definitely changed their team for the worst
Yep. Damn
It wasn’t working, they were 24-15 in the games Roberson played in, he played in 39 games and the Thunder finished with a 48-34 record, they probably would of gotten 1 or 2 extra wins with Roberson but they still wouldn’t of gone anywhere in the Playoffs. On paper, their team record and player stats looked great but their chemistry was horrible, the only reason they won so many games was because they had 3 great players on a team but their chemistry was still shit so come playoff time it would account to nothing.
21 of their 48 wins came against playoff teams which means 27 of their wins were just against teams who shouldn’t even compete with them.
19 of their 34 losses also came from playoff teams which means they couldn’t compete with the top tier teams and were only beating the easier teams.
Now look at the games Roberson played in and who they won and lost to.
19 of those 36 games were against playoff teams and in those games they won 12 of them and lost 7 of them. Being barely above 500 Against playoff teams isn’t good enough to be a contender, not to mention only 2 of those wins are against a top 4 seed in each conference
The mistake that GMs made with Faried was that they put too much weight on his great USA basketball performance against lesser competition. He never looked that good ever again.
He was playing USA basketball with Curry and that was the main reason he looked so good
2014 FIBA world games, i was on that manimal banwagon!
He averaged 13 and 8 with the Rockets tho. He’s not a superstar but easily a solid role player
To be fair to Faried, he was improved in his short stint in Houston. He improved his defence and shot 35% from 3. I think he still has it in him to be a decent small ball 5 in the NBA right now. I think it has more to do with his age and teams wanting a younger player
I remember him having a 20-10 in Houston and they just went the other direction.
Honestly feel for Roberson, I ruptured my patila tendon and I can never run again I’m so happy to see him playing the game everybody here loves
We played basketball together in High School. Wagner HS in San Antonio

You gotta feel for guys like Hibbert and Okafor. Truly came into the league at the absolute worst time for guys like them and there was basically no time given to them to adapt.
completely agree. Send them back 25 years and they're big names, MAYBE allstars.
@@stevemeters3090 - 25 years ago - they would be competing in the golden age of bigs - Those all-stars were great two way players. Hibbert and Okafor were/are not.
@@sambeaumont395 I meant more that they'd definitely have a spot in the league and could maybe make the odd ALLSTAR Game (that's a VERY conditional maybe).

Greg Monroe is also a quality mention here, especially when having Larry Sanders on the list you have.
i still remember drummond monroe twin tower of detroit
@@fIrSt735 But even further back, Greg had a lot of potential, and was considered one of the best players in regards to potential. But his playstyle just never fit the way the league was going, and on top of it, unfortunately, he just didn't really commit to working on expanding his game or bettering the skills he already had.
@@TheCriminalViolin if i remember correctly, pistons got in to playoffs with those 2 (drummond and monroe) both starting right?
Andrew bogut too, ppl really dismiss him but his defensive presence was insane when healthy. Reason why the warriors blew that 3-1 lead cause bogut got injured game game 5
I met Larry sanders once at work in la

The Kenneth situation was always bizarre. He was our biggest hustler and every time he came in the crowd went crazy because we loved his style. Always played with 100% energy. The fact that he seemed to never get a solid role was extremely baffling.
Andre was just riddled with injuries plus with the 3points more important now, it's hard for andre for a spot in an nba team or even playing minutes
Back when he was a starter for OKC the 3pt was still really important in the NBA. His defense was just that elite where it outweighed his shooting and he was actually being productive on the offenses end the year he got injured. Injuries ruined his career, his defense is no where near the level it used to be.
his defense was so elite you could live with how bad his scoring was cause your best scorer wasnt making anything when roberson lines up against him
Giannis ( Traditional big man ): 2x MVP, 1x FMVP, 1x DPOY.
Rudy Gobert, Zion Williamson, Andre Drummond, Clint Capela, Deandre Ayton, Bam Adebao ? ?
The Faried's story is one of the saddest. I remember him destroying every big men during 2014 World Cup, then all of a sudden no one needs him.
Instead I think Hibbert was overrated in his best seasons.
yeah world cup faried was a different beast, with me having little knowledge about the nba during that time I legit thought that faried was a top 10 player at least
Marcus Thornton comes to mind, he had some spurts of great play for the Kings back in 11-14..
Danny Granger too, I know he got injured but yeah..
How good was Kevin Willis a soild
center in his prime in the 80s and 90s.
Jeremin O Neal
Longest tenured player in the nba I believe. Drafted the same year as Jordan and Hakeem, retired in 2007
@@Zaghzackio Dirk passed him up 21 seasons well at least same team for 21 seasons
@@Zaghzackio I think that record is tied with Vince because he retired for one year when he was 43. So 22 years. But he only played for 21 because of an injury he had that kept him out the whole season. So Vince and Willis has tied record of tenured players but Vince has the seasons played record
And AC Green as a virgin
Kenneth Faried was a guy with a relentless motor. He was tough, physical on the glass, and his athleticism was insane. As for Roy Hibbert he was the anchor of those pacers teams defensively. A tough, physical big man with incredible foot work down low and a quality rebounder as well. The pacers/heat rivalry was fun to watch.
Bigman basketball is dead. Centers are just tall Shooting Guard.
Who do you think was better. Kenneth Faried or Paul Mishap?
To be honest Ty Lawsons career was coming to a close anyway - historically shorter players have always had shorter careers or earlier retirements.
Andrew Bynum with 2 rings and an All-Star selection had a great NBA run. He's talked about because of how good he was, you don't hear of Chris Mihm who was drafted higher.
Sacramento I.T. will always be special. That's where he started it all.
The pizza guy!
Just a few weeks ago I randomly wondered what happened to Kenneth Faired. He was good in Denver then ended up on the rockets at some point, then just vanished. I didn't recall any injuries so I just thought he went overseas or something.
Was at the game in Detroit when Roberson went down, even though I wasn’t rooting for his team it was still sad to see such a hard-working, lockdown defender go down like that.
As a Sixers fans, I thank Bynum for being an idiot and losing his passion for the game. He’s the reason for the process and we appreciate that here in Philly. Thank You Bynum. 👏
No cap
😂
I'm a 76ers fan and the process was the biggest disaster in sports history
This video proves that no matter how talented or promising you are at the end of the day, discipline and hardwork are what really matter.
Not only that.. but having a plan B in case you fall off plan A
Wow this really shows you how hard it is to not only get into the nba but STAY in the nba
What’s really crazy is where would’ve Giannas gone if the bucks didn’t think they needed him because of Sanders progression or if they just didn’t end up having the option because they were elite.
what about Josh Howard? Dude was on the verge of being a 20 ppg scorer but then just disappeared. Also devin harris was an all star and then was never heard from again
Harris got traded for Deron Williams (NJ to UTA) and was never the same after that. He just didn't look like the same guy in 2011-12. Ironically Josh Howard was on that Jazz team as well - a strange mix of young and vets, a young coach (Ty Corbin) and a franchise going through turmoil (for them) - owner had passed away, coaching legend (Sloan) had exited the year before after a feud with D-Will, Kirilenko and Okur gone, and their identity was just off. 36-30 record reflected that and a sweep at the hands of the Spurs.

Kenneth Faried’s short time with the rockets was actually pretty productive and a great energy guy off the bench kinda like Montrezl Harrell before Montrezl Harrell also I make videos as well

Bynum was also becoming a head case in LA by getting technical fouls, ejections and dirty fouls. So that didn't help his case to stay. Coming from a Lakers fan. The sad one for me is Ty Lawson he was one of my favorite point guards in the league. I was a fan of him coming out of college. He kind of reminded me of Nick Van Exel. Flashy passing, decent shooting and good defender.

I still have yet to see a difference in play styles between Kenneth Faried and Montrezl Harrell. Did Faried piss someone higher up off or something?

@@hoosthere yeah but he still will be a key piece somewhere else probably. Whoever picks him up will probably use him way more I mean the guy is a 6 man of the year
@@hesomelo5910 yeah maybe the Mavs they could use some toughness at the center position
Harrell is a LOT better offensively, not to mention not as poor defensively. They're similar in general terms, but Harrell is a lot more polished, not to mention younger.
27yo vs 31yo. Harrell still has the potential to develop whereas Faried is too old to adapt. Although if Harrell won't change his playstyle, I'm not going to be surprised if he will have the same fate as Faried.
i thought Farried will make a comeback in houston..he even shoot 3's there occassionally..showing that he is willing to work on his game unlike before..

Faried would be a great pick and roll/rim catching small ball center for any team, and his three pointer is greatly improved.
Hibbert did not struggle against the Heat. He straight up dominated their small lineup. He had numbers far surpassed his regular season numbers. In the 2013 playoffs he averaged 22.1 ppg, and 10.4 rpg. In the 2014 playoffs against the Heat. It was in 2014 where he suddenly declined for no reason. He even multiple games playing a lot of minutes with 0 rebounds.

Kenneth Fareid was also making threes in houston. Weird stroke but i'll still take it tho.
