I think the reason why Derrick Rose receives the most sympathy of the four guys on this list is because he was the only guy who was never a difficult player/teammate. Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, and Carmelo Anthony had big egos, which resulted in butting heads with their teammates and coaches. Once those three humbled themselves, they were able to continue their careers. Rose was always humble, even when he won MVP.
Rose also is the worst out of all them.
@@Nolant23 worst how?
@@luisch1708 I'm assuming he's referring to the gang rape accusations ...

100% agree.
These 4 Former NBA Players Were BALLING and Far Away from Being DONE, But Then...
Josh Smith, Deron Williams, Danny Granger, Ty Lawson.
Deron William’s fall was the most surprising for me, went from averaging over 15 and 10 to being out of the league 4 years later
you gotta include Isaiah thomas there !
Deron Williams would’ve been a hof if never fell off so quick
I miss Danny Granger
Harsh including Granger with the other 3, he belongs in a Michael Redd/Brandon Roy catagory. Injury robbed them all whereas Williams just lost interest & Lawson drank his career away. Smith ... well did a Josh Smith i suppose
The 50 point Derrick Rose game is one of the best moments in NBA history, not just that season.
Stop it😂😂😂, kobes 60 is gonna be more remembered than what d rose has done in his whole career

Never gave up on Rose, NEVER. Still haven’t because he’s always been there, just needed the opportunity
It was sad seeing Derrick Rose get injured in Cleveland. He really was about to retire. D rose one of my fav players of all time . An the Bulls are my favourite team
@` he truly never fell off. Hes always averaged at least 17ppg from 2009-16 idk bout the last couple of years . But ik he was balling in minnesota and holding his own im Detroit. Cleveland the only place where he truly struggled. An the whole team did in cleveland besides LeBron . The chemistry was crap

@` he really redeemed himself in his second timberwolves year

I didn’t know PBG was into basketball! Love your channel!
Damn, didn't expect you.
@@strawberrrylady9451 yeah he mentioned before he was a mavs fan and in a video about ayear ago he played 2k. Still awesome to see that he's a fan of andy hoops
We love you, PBG!!
some of these players like Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose were just victimized from the media because of, "oh their prime is gone, they're washed up and etc, well , they might not be playing like when they were young anymore but players like D Rose now on a bench role , he's reviving his career in a big way with the Knicks now and so goes for Dwight on the sixers , just incredible stuff
Do you watch Sixers games? I do. Howard turns the ball over and commits bad fouls typically away from the ball. He has 3 fouls per game in 17 minutes a game
I'm pretty sure you don't watch Dwight playing, prbly haven't for some years now, he is pretty bad, please realize the sixers took him because they don't want to waste a draft pick to find Embiid a sub, he is a minimum player right now and has been for a while. Also his reputation is "victimized" by players and coaches, he did all that.
@@therocklau dwight plays old school. The league foul call raye implicates just how soft the play has become. Stop hating. He a champ and you not so..... Stick to the comment section

Andy’s trumpets started playing, so it means they’re not done
Roberto Lebron Andy's trumpets are just unbelievable stuff
😭😭😭 funniest thing I’ve seen all day
“The tail end of Dwight career “. I see what you did there you dirty dawg 😌
The trumpets are iconic and belong to Andy basically his trademark of the channel
It's epic makes me think of curtains opening for a nice short film relaxing too
And the old western themed music he always uses , the day he changes it I’m gonna cry I’ve ate too many meals to it 😂
It's like jxmyhighroller's trap sax
I didn't notice it if you didn't point it out! Part of what makes the channel unique. 🙏
I know that everyone is always saying everyone is underrated. But Andy is truly underrated, I love the style and tempo of his videos
One thing you forgot to mention is how Dwight transformed himself as a teammate as well, everybody loves him in Philly and he has become the true vet presence you need in a championship team.
Andy my guy, you really inspired me to start making videos myself. Really appreciate all you do, you’ve really interested me in nba history.

@@onlyone23km those are just cockblocking fools who probably are losers. Most people I seen just criticise and rightfully so call out on how their sport WNBA needs improvement plus being better. Also certain WNBA athletes are pretty egotistical with the whole “wage gap” and kind of shame men for no reason tryna say they better than them then expect them to still support them. That’s not how these stuff goes
@@ssj4goku18825theepic people misunderstand the wage gap crisis going on.
It's best to ignore the couch NBA experts. As a hornets fan I tried to campaign for them to sign Carmelo or even bring back Howard, and it brought a lot of NBA couch twitter experts that jumped in and said Carmelo was washed and Dwight had nothing to offer. Guarantee those same people are now pretending they were cheering both of them on to be signed lol People are so performative and run with narratives. Had a guy try to convince me having Nicolas Batum on the hornets was better than having Carmelo.
Dwight averaged a high double-double in charlotte and people still called him washed. Even when he was averaging a double-double in houston people called him washed.
@@3isthenew1 I definitely never understood that in Houston, he was still a very very good center in Houston, excellent pnr partner for Harden and very impactful defensively
Man when you said “everyone laughed at him because he had a sore ass” 😂😂😂
Lmao before seeing it in video but that’s funny
Young kids don’t remember how dominant Dwight was
Yeah I was 5 in 2012
D Rose is still dope to this day

Every great morning starts with an Andy Hoops video!
Im glad rose went to NY. He has been an amazing addition to the team. The Knicks haven’t been very consistent offensively but now they have Drose who has been an amazing spark plug off the bench and hes a great veteran leader for this young team aswell.
Dwight took a back seat and is now thriving as an energy guy off the bench and could win another title this season also I make videos as well
Man that 50 point game gave me the chills. The flashbacks. I've always been a huge Derrick rose fan, since his early years, but MAN that one just hit different. I was up on my feet the whole time. When he cried in that interview, I cried with him. One of the best individual performances I've witnessed. He showed us every move in his toolbox. Some games just hit different🌹...
Drose has been amazing for the last 3 years
Role player
@@ivanbautista5530 2 years of 18ppg on 49% shooting then goes to the Knicks and has them in the playoffs for the first time in forever.
@@bradenmchenry995 Both his 18 point seasons he did it only for 50 games and on bad teams. And the Knicks were already a playoff team before he went there
@@phxander stop hating. Derrick Rose is doing well for himself despite his injuries.
@@kRzlamchop im not hating im just stating the fact
The video was perfect for 10 Minutes and then you made me cry
Still, thanks
In my opinion, Dwight Howard only rejected the pick and roll earlier in his career bc Shaq was always criticizing him for not being a “true big man” and posting up more even though the league was shifting into a different era. Shaq literally said Andrew Bynum and Robin Lopez were better “big men” than Dwight back in the day lol. And yes Shaq said Robin bc he’s a casual and got Brook mixed up with his brother
I feel even better seeing Dwight Howard doing great because I never gave up on him. (cant imagine they were asking if Joakim Noah or Dwight Howard would be better for the lakers smh..)
lakers should have went with Noah. things went downhill for Howard when he got there.
4 of the best players from the 2011 All Star game. Man, what a time.
I love this channel🔥
Great video
Andy Hoops I hope you make a video about NBA coaches that were labelled as worst but actually kinda good
The only problem I have is that Dwight's numbers drastically dropped once he landed in LA the second time so I don't know if I'd say he had a turn-around.
At least he won a chip
@@marqkuisphillip2295 Doesn't mean he had a huge turnaround season, he didn't.
@@guesswhonot1620 no I’m not talking about that I’m saying just in context in his 2nd run that at least he won a chip
@@marqkuisphillip2295 I mean, eh.
He hasn't gotten worse at basketball he's just less athletic therefore people think he's washed but the second time he arrived to LA he contributed he's just getting older
Love this video
That 50 point game by D rose was epic!! His postgame interview had me in tears 🥲👏🏾
Dwight doesn’t get enough credit despite that fact that he carried the Magic’s to the ‘09 finals
Because he is a fool. He acts like fool, behave like fool. That's why people in general really dislikes him. No matter how he plays and what he does on court, he will always be a village idiot in peoples eyes. At least with majority of people.
Good Video 🔥
great vid
Even when Drose was going through his Injury Phase, I never stopped being a fan of his. The man is still going strong despite his past setbacks.
I'm really happy for these men. I watched them when I was on my early teens
Dwight actually still can jump as he could jump back in the days lol. I have seen a video of him touching the top of the backboard like he did in dunk contest
When d rose had 50 point game, I cried with him. That hit diff ngl
Dwight has been a solid backup center for Embiid. Granted he’s taken much of a smaller role because Embiid is top dog but he comes in off the bench, does what is asked if that’s grabbing rebounds, playing defense and he can be a veteran mentor for the young guys.
while not in the league anymore, Joe Johnson really impressed me on the jazz!
This video gives me chill . just remembering how great Drose Could have been
inspirational, specially drose. I picked him on fantasy this season
I think Dwight will leave his career satisfied
- Orlandos "arguably" best center in Franchise History
-A Lock HOF
- 3 Time DPOY
-Has a ring to his name
-Can finally enjoy the game he loves on a title contender with almost no injuries
What about Shaq?
never clicked so fast for an andy hoops vid
bernard king should be mention in this conversation, he went from mvp runner up behind bird in 84 to an injury riddled scrub back to an all star in 91
Carmelo was literally the best one here as after he played his first game he scored several points and then everytime Portland has a game, I kept asking Siri how many points did Melo score
1:50: "It was the tail end of Dwight's career" I see what you did there😂😂
my only wish in this life is to see D.Rose lift the championship trophy
copped that jimmer range subscriber % screenshot pack
injuries derailed the careers but their skills are always there and these skill make them thrive to stay on the league
I heard that Bulls GM will try to bring back D Rose on the bulls, Karnisovas the GOAT, and i believe
I really doubt it will happen. Drose is happy in NYC with his favorite coach. I really doubt he will move to Chicago without Tib. Plus the style Chicago is playing is not the style for current Drose. But who know. Karnishovas is magicman full of tricks. So we shall see.
I like watching Derek rose play and i am not even that big of a NBA geek
But there was something really special when he was on
God bless him may he return to form again
I'm happy for what Derrick Rose is doing in New York with coach Thibodeu. It'd be nice to see the Knicks back in the playoffs again.
I think Dwight Howard would definitely make the hall of fame and is one of the most underrated centers in the NBA
idk why but i just now realized that the intro music sounds like the mandolorian soundtrack
Im not a Rose fan but everytime I watch a clip with his 50pt performance in Twolves, I shed some tears. KEEP BLOOMING DROSE!
i feel like the difference between rose and the others is that he came off his youngest mvp ever season and then lost so much of his career. he was super young and respectful which helps
@1:51 Lmfaooo at Andy saying “it’s the TAIL end of his career” while talking about Dwight’s sore ass... I see what you did there buddy😂😂😂😂😂
It’s unfortunate Dwight embraced his current role too late. He could have been in Rudy Gobert’s position. Play defense and roll man and make $200+ million
The problem with Howard was the back injury that robbed him of a lot of his athleticism, IMO prime Dwight was much better defensively than Rudy (not saying Rudy is bad though)
@@jdelgado216 Oh. He was way better than Rudy. Not only did the back injury hurt him but also he wanted to be a post player but wasn’t really good at it. If he was willing to do play pick and roll, he could still probably average 20+ points.
Damn I forgot no chill Gil played for Orlando during that Howard piece lol
Can you talk about the time period Dwyane Wade was on the bulls and cavs ? I think it would be a cool area to talk about that people forget about
How can you not love drose! The mans an inspiration
I like ur channel andy
You love to see it
Love to see it x2
Love to see it x3
Especially when Derrick Rose scored 50 points
Andy hoops🔥
I’m glad Carmelo finally accepted the 6 man role
I thought his career was over if he didn’t accept the fact he wasn’t that old melo anymore like how AIs career ended because of that
But thank god he did and that he still has some more years left
I still hate Rondo for ruining the Mavericks.
I didnt know agent zero played for the magic.. thanks to the photo with Howard 😂
Rondo on the Mavericks wasn't a good fit, I honestly don't know what they were thinking trading for him. I guess at the time Rondo was still seen as a borderline superstar so they figured he just would but the Mavs offense at the time really required point guards to be knock down shooters and their leading scorers were Monta Ellis who was very ball dominant. That was never going to work with Rondo.
I haven't watched the NBA in a few years now and totally thought all these guys retired
4:35 rare clip of cp3 guarding himself
Imagine if these dudes went to the euroleague instead of coming off the bench...
0:22 that picture is just tragic
Greatness of course they ain’t stars anymore but impact wise still similar
whats the instrumental starting at 1:11
Wall and Cousins are candidates for this list next season (hopefully)
Wall still can drop multiple star level shit he gotta go to a new place tho
Even if Howard can't jump like before. He can still jump better than most of the players in the league hahaha
I'm not a hardcore fan of DRose but I'm still rooting for him. I know a lot of people root for him too. Hoping he turns things around soon.
Imagine all of them playing at the same team all of their peaks at the same time
As a Knicks fan, D Rose has been awesome this season
I just hope Derrick Rose wins a ring, i really do. He deserves it. If that time comes, I might go emotional. Always rooting for him.
How are 60% of viewers not subbed? That's weird and an injustice.
most videos I’ve seen taking on this subject mentioned that about 60% of people watching aren’t subbed. So I don’t think it’s that weird. It seems to be the norm.
That these guys can stay relevant in the League even though their bodies cant maintain this 'freak of nature' status anymore they once had, shows to me that they are truly talented. And that it takes so so much to become one of the best players out there. They lost so much of their athletic ability because of injuries and still come out as an above average NBA player. Its crazy if you think about it.
my mans put the 8 second count on Rondo xD
Looking rose injury list is very scary
ROSE was unstoppable before he got hurt. his 50 points game with the T WOLVES, I shed a few tears. Love him, i have a feeling his career will end in a happy note.
I love D-Rose' game. I'm glad he is doing better
This would be a crazy team in 2012
Darn, reminding me of D.Rose making me sad. He was always my first picked player when playing 2K league in the mode where every team takes a turn picking a player. Having a finisher, acrobatic + anklebreaker skills and he can always slashing and dominate.
They've got true love for the game ❤
