when you tap the pedal you hear exotic sports car, but at idle and slow increasing revs you hear full on muscle car. Really wish ford had done more with this engine.
I've never driven one, but I always have to do a double-take when I see one pulling. Sounds like a V8 off the line but then it starts to howl. These are cool engines but I think the new Godzilla's gonna be better all around.
The fleet with my previous job started solely buying the v10 powered step vans and I always liked how they sounded. Had a nice snarl with a slightly hollow sound like a Flowmaster, wish we could’ve run performance exhausts on them 😄
A guy I work with has an F250 2V V10, had the cat stolen so it's open exhaust right now, and it sounds weird. Soon he's gonna weld a pipe in, just run the stock muffler and no cat. It'll probably have a nice throaty sound to it, not as good as a V8 but still pretty good. That V10 has enough torque to easily roast the tires off.
I have a 29 foot class c motorhome on a E450 chassis. It has the V10 and I think it has enough power and torque. Of course it's not used every day like a truck.
I love this engine . I just wonder why it has not prevailed. Is the fuel consumption much higher than with a V8? A 10 cylinder needs less RPM for the same torque as an eight-cylinder. Do you have to pay attention to fuel prices in America? 😁 or the Americans are stubborn V8 fanatics 🤣
Yes, this engine is very thirsty 6-8mpg. A truck this class would regularly have a diesel, but ford markets this as a diesel alternative. The problem is it has close to half the torque and half the fuel economy as a diesel. The only pro is it has a cheaper purchase price and doesn't have an aftertreatment system and the maintenancethat comes with it. This engine is from the 90s so it is pretty old in design.

sounds like 50% sport car & 50% muscle car..lol
Yeah the V10 Triton definitely has a unique sound to it! Thanks for watching!
ur welcome :) thats 4 sure..lol
Oh yeah yea
Or a Bluebird Vision School Bus CNG
Same engine

Damn tweakers love them cats
We have an F-650 42 passenger bus at work. IMO its the best bus in the fleet.

One of our F-450 swaploaders has a v10 engine in it.
Needs driving footage

The 6.8 V10 is reliable but they could’ve stuck with the old 7.3 Powerstroke which is also very reliable
@@Datsun7705 The 7.3L won't even come close to meeting modern diesel emissions.
V10 on a box truck? Yeah it sounds okay but gets bad gas mileage. Makes more sense that this truck should have a 6.7 Cummins or 6.7 powerstroke
Yeah it did! About 7 MPG and was gutless. I absolutely agree, a diesel engine would have been much better suited for this truck!
crazyjdkid huge difference in power and torque since diesels have higher compression and turbos
I drive a 2016 f750 26' reefer box truck with the 6.7l powerstroke and Absolutely love it. Still a little sluggish but only as expected at 20500 lbs.
Gets about 25liters per 100km governed at 120km/h on highway driving. Seems average with our similar sized freightliners.
Thanks for the information! Thats about 10 mpg in the US.
That sounds so strange on a truck to me lol
Waste of a truck chassis if you ask me!
crazyjdkid I would agree, did you find my FB?
I didnt get any message or anything on how to find it!
Almost sounds different than the Bluebird Vision School Bus Get Playyed
