- Similar to the other video,except this one gives better visibility to the dash to see the fluctuating RPMs of the 6.8L V10 Triton. Average mpg over 700 miles was 7 mpg.

nice vid :) i hate driving in rain....
I personally like driving in the rain! A good set of tires make all the difference!
How’s it on shifting, especially on cruise? Ours have trouble keeping speed on a grade, drop about 5mph, then have to kick down and redline to get back up (and actually past) original set speed. More so a problem on the Ford’s than the GM’s, perhaps ours coming with the 6.2 boss v8 has something to do with it, but that’s above my pay grade.
Completely unrelated, the new International MV’s have started popping up on our yard, an order of 6 white MV reefers in rental decals came in earlier this month.
It literally shifted ever 20 seconds, flipping between the top gear and the one below it. I pretty much had it pegged through this video.I was pushing 85mph though, so it was at its top end. You should start seeing them here soon with the new 7.3L Gas V8. In my eyes the MV is still a Durastar, although I do like the improvements they made to the cab! Some look like they even watched by videos and took note. Some it looks cheaply built though.
crazyjdkid MV=DuraStar, LT=ProStar. Exactly the same, identical powertrain, shift lever on MV is off of a school bus, looks alot like a trailer brake lever. LT has a new engine, International built (or more likely stolen), but MV still has ISB or ISL. International’s interior (given they only have the one, fleet wide) was in dire need of an update, which i hope pushes Freightliner into updating the M2, which has to have the worst interior and comfort of damn near any truck i’ve ever driven.
@@jaysmith1408 Yes I noticed! International didn't do anything...once again. The new A26 engine in the LT is derived from MAN Trucks in Europe. While I have always preferred the Freightliner, I do agree that it is in dire need of an update. I suspect that we will see an update soon. The Freightliner is just a sea of gray inside.
crazyjdkid i’ve been opposed to the International’s, only because i’ve been with the company through the phase out of the MaxxNoises (which were frequently irritable and poorly maintained) and the hydraulic brake/spring suspension/solid bench seat trucks. The M2’s have always had air systems (while i write, i can now recall one that had springs). As the new DuraStar’s and now the MV’s roll out, i now favour them, seats are softer, cab suspension is softer, steering smoother, and, even though Both the DuraStar and M2 are exclusively plastic interiors, the Internationals seem more...home-y. The old Cascadia’s had the same problem, they just felt cold.
Alot of these arent geared right. They rev higher going 65 on the interstate than the Visions do at the same speed.
I was going 75 in this video for the most part! These trucks are geared for highway!
@@crazyjdkid today at 69mph. The bus was at 1800rpm. V10 6spd. I think theyre 3 valves tho
The V10 is geared for torque which is also why it revs higher than most gas engines. I love'm, they act just like a diesel. Solid engines. Definitely can't wait for the 7.3L gas with the new 10 speed to come out, i'm sure that'll be a solid vehicle as well. Are the gas V10s detuned for the Visions?
