This is something a lot of us have to learn. It is wise to take the time to listen and allow people to feel their emotions before meeting them with objections. Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He didn't tell everyone that they had no faith as soon as He reached them. I'm pretty sure that He let them cry and wept Himself. This is something God has opened my eyes to. I experienced things in church where I felt people were more concerned with trying to "correct" than they were to actually hear what I had to say. I stopped going that specific service for over 4 years when I was younger and ended up just going to adult service with my other family members. I now know that they were just immature, as we all have been/are at some time, but that is how a lot of people get hurt. When leaders in the church are picked because of gifts or connections without considering maturity. The church should be more aware of this because even the Bible says that the gifts come without repentance.

That’s a good question! Not being smart or judgmental (at least I’m not trying to be), but one thing I realize is that you have some true believers who are willing to listen to others and their beliefs even if we don’t agree with them, but when it comes to us and what we believe and sharing it we’re the ones that’s wrong and trying to be turned down or looked at as hateful and judgmental. It happens within the world mostly and immature believers. So while I think it’s important to listen wholeheartedly, it’s just as important to respond with God’s truth. His truth literally trumps all and exposes the hearts of people.

Here’s my 2 cents. I really think the church needs to learn that listening means listening. From the mere fact that they are connected to this channel, it means they have access to its many videos addressing their concerns. From what I am hearing, I’m pretty sure they have heard all the explanations before. I’m not hearing immature believers that are intellectually unaware of their issues, I’m hearing believers with legitimate concerns whose voices have not been heard. For them, the issue is deeper than just church membership. I dare say that the simple act of listening is actually a ministry of healing to them, because it happens so rarely.
Too many of us need to learn how to truly listen, instead of just listening to figure out when to speak. That way, when we do speak, it’s less of a one-way sermon and more of a two-way conversation.
There is a ministry of listening, as Lisa I rightly put it, that so many in the church simply do not understand, and it continues to drive so many away.

One of the things I observed in the church is that many don’t have the same patience they have with the church compared to relationships, jobs, friendships etc. everyone has a church hurt story.
Also people put too much expectations on the church and leaders, and get mad and leave for something they felt they didn’t get etc. a church is a place/gathering of believers to fellowship and hear a word from God. We as the church are imperfect Save by Gods grace for those who believe in him. The beloved brother asked a simple question that is worthy of a cogent response, regarding Adam and Eve. But his implications are problematic. He implies that the freedom to choose "evil" or the conception of "evil" is evil in and of it self. He asks if sin did not begin until they ate the fruit, then why did they want to eat it in the first place? He unwittingly removes human volition from his premise. Further, If one has the freedom to choose/conceive of "evil", then one has the freedom to choose/conceive of "good" because without "good", "evil" does not exist. Adam & Eve were not automatons hardwired to only choose "good". They were humans with volition to make any choice, good or evil.
Finally, he moved to the existential, "they were inexperienced" and up against an entity that was well experienced. He implies that Adam and Eve were like children, without wisdom or intelligence to comprehend and/or apprehend their existence. Adam gave name to all the animals. He pronounced his own matrimony to the woman. He was told to take dominion and subdue. This implies that Adam and Eve were intelligent beings. . . . I'll pause for now.

Yes, there are answers to his questions, but the church(es) he attended didn't seem to know those answers, teach them to him, or help him learn how to find those answers for himself. They told the story but couldn't teach it. They probably wouldn't even discuss these questions. Even a simple back- and- forth would have helped. Also, maybe he didn't stop believing; maybe he just stopped going to a church that had no better ability to deal with questions than that.

I offered direct response to his inquiry that, obviously, the unanswered questions were a part of the reason he left church. Truth is whether he goes to church or not, is hardly my concern. The challenge I raise is for him to think about this own questions adequately, rigorously, especially examining the implications and assumptions of his own questions. I think if he did that, he could at least release the church from its responsibility to answer his questions. Again, he must first deal with his presuppositions and implications of his questions. And if he cannot or will not, why did he leave the church in the first place? He can blame or indict the church for failure to answer the questions, but in so doing he must blame and indict himself if he has not examined the underlying assumptions of his questions-- An examination, after which, he may find that no answer is necessary, because he may find that the inadequacy is in his assumptions and not in the church's failure to answer the questions he raises on his assumption. And maybe he would have stayed in fellowship. To be fair, the clip is only 9 mins.

@@jwill1027 Good question! Here's what I believe. John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Then further down it says in verse 14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
So that implies that Jesus was with God the Father from the beginning. God also being all knowing knew what was going to happen before it happened. When lucifer and the fallen angels were cast down to earth it wasn't perfect anymore - and realistically he was the one that caused man to sin. He tempted Eve who then gave the fruit to Adam. That brought sin into the earth which separated man from God. Then there were the fallen angels that were sleeping with women, there were giants and violence all over the place which God didn't like causing Him to flood the earth. (Read Genesis 6.)
I believe God knew all of this was going to happen though - that's why Jesus was there from the beginning. The devil brought sin into the world and Jesus came, died, and rose to bring us back to where we can be close with the Father again. Jesus also opened the door for Holy Spirit to come which is a major help to us.
In the end - Jesus is going to come back and get rid of sin and the devil for good and we will be able to be back with the Father as He originally intended. 🙌🏽

Any congregation celebrating something simply not found in scripture is in reality practicing traditions of men and are probably more legalistic then I’d ever mean to be. No one is saved by the law, but you certainly don’t have the right to tell me I’m legalistic for speaking out against unscriptural things. I’d rather promote reading the word on your own than getting involved in a system that’s just incorrect on too many levels.

Once our people began to recognize that, i imagine many more of our people will be leaving the church. Its hard to tell a healthy adult that a snake had a verbal conversation with a lady and that a 500 year old man built a boat.. There is no history in that... This is why we have been told for decades to have faith.

They're are PLENTY of people that have left the church and they're stories and reasoning deserves to be heard as well. Plus, I feel like bcuz she uses the same ppl these conversations are too soft, like harder issues such as abuse, brainwashing, and a lack of spiritual growth aren't being addressed. Also, I don't recall if her guests have really been in church for years as adult members and had to deal with a lot of changes in they're Christian walk so in a way it just seems like they left bcuz they didn't want to deal with something they didn't like. They're stories just sound too familiar. However, that's just my perception.

Shalom beautiful people of The Most High God and many blessings to you and your beautiful families.
Jason's question regarding Adam and Eve in the garden is a very legitimate concern. And he has every right to desire a clearer understanding about this event. I don't know if he still feels the same way about what took place in the garden but it had alot to do with The LORD teaching man how to properly use his free will.
The LORD gave man freewill because a relationship that is built on covenant is a relationship that is absent of control and oppression. Freewill is about trust. Freewill comes with the responsibility of understanding right from wrong. When The LORD gave the instructions to man regarding the trees, He was protecting man's freewill. He had to set a particular principle in place to teach man how important it is to protect this ability to choose.
Yes the enemy was given access to test man and man failed, but this also shows us the grace and intimate love The LORD chooses to give man even though he made a poor decision when exercising his freewill. The LORD knew what He was doing when He gave us freewill. He didn't create mankind to oppress them but to richly develop an authentic relationship with them through this ability to make choices. Freewill is built to compliment wisdom's nature. Freewill functions in alignment with this spirit which is another teaching all within itself. Smiles and Shalom

I could have been more satisfied staying in the world.

God has given us Holy Days (not holidays) which we are to celebrate throughout ALL your generations as a remembrance of Him and what he had done.
Our bible has so much information removed that many statement taught in church are in error and/or they chose not to obey
You must study God's word for yourself and get those other books too to get the COMPLETE understanding.
When I first read Genesis, I saw all the holes in these events. It didn't make sense. But God had me seek out other books mentioned in the bible and only then it began to make sense with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Many church leaders don't know these books and if they do, they chose not to read them. Why? Because they would have to admit they taught erroneous information to you. They would have to humble themselves. This will cause you to take the focus off of them and you will quickly learn to focus on the Lord. You will dethrone them and their palaces will exist no more.
The behavior in the church today is no different than the Pharisees and Sadduces of the past. And don't think they will be pleased that you decided to follow the Lord. Jesus said himself " if they are willing to kill the Master (Him), what do you think they would do to the Servant (you)?
How much of the word of God is taught in churches now? Very little if any at all. Hours of music, conventions, etc though.
Those that left the church are God's handpicked disciples (called out ones) that he is bringing back to Himself. Trust that this is what's happening.

Eve admitted her transgression, that's why God chose to use her as an avenue for the Remedy! The Seed of the woman is a distinct term, because in procreation the seed comes from the man.

I just want to share with you all for those who of you that have a similar question. I hope brother Jason see it as well. I don’t expect to know all the answers and it somethings that we want know until we meet Him face to Face. However God has given us all a measure of Faith and I want to encourage you to not let anyone steal it from you. So with brother Jason question regarding the garden of eden the big answer I have to it is free will. God made man and women. And place them in the garden of eden, also place the serpent there. He did this so to bring about the concept of free will. Both good and evil had to be present to give the ability of choice. Also the first recording of the serpent speaking to human was to eve. No disrespect to you ladies lol. But who is to say that that Adam didn’t speak to the serpent first while God was present. Although He never leave us He always present but the Lord does test us. Adam was to protect Eve. He is the head of her. But instead He remain passive at the time. Jesus is a the better man and instead of being passive , He shall bruise the Head of the serpent and throw them into the Lake of Fire. God has a plan for evil to completely do away with it. Until then he choose to use it for his glory and will. Because He can cause all things to work together for the good of those who loves Him. Trust the Lord and be of good encourage.

Man has free will, they chose to eat the fruit, they could have eaten from the tree of Life also, they chose not to.
God has a plan, it started with God alone, God was here by himself, and being God he realized, that even for him it was not good for him to be alone, so God started to create.
His started with his Son Jesus, then the Holy Ghost, then the angels, after this the days of creation, then man, and last, but not least, woman.
So in the plan of God he wanted a creation to be with him in eternity that would be there, because they chose to be there, and not because he forced them to be there.
He laid out a plan of salvation for all who desired it to lay hold on, so all that we are going through is a test to see if life situations will change us to follow him, or follow evil, both roads leading us to different eternal destinations.
We are all living out the challenge called life, so that when it's all said and done, The Father will have in eternity, everyone who willfully chose him, and his word, and so God will have with him everyone who chose to be with him in eternity forever, and he will not be alone, which was the plan all from the beginning.

I think that they should really take up a more in-depth study of the issues (i.e. Christmas, Easter, Sabbath, Adam & Eve, etc) with which they have struggled or have decided need a cogent answer from the church. For example, the reason the birth of Jesus the Christ was moved to December 25, on the heels of the winter solstice, was to mitigate Christian persecution by merging the Christian worship (the mass of Christ) with non-Christian sun worship. This is the same reason for moving the Sabbath to SUNday". It was Constantine's effort to protect Christians, who were facing genocide, by allowing Christian worship to occur during so-called pagan holy days. Constantine converged worship, as it were.

      @RunJonathanRun Před 3 lety

@@bbrochelle77 Fair question, friend. The Bible, as it currently exist, did not exist during Constantine's rule. Mixing holy with profane refers to temple ritualistic worship and mysticism. Constantine wasn't a priest. He was a politician. He made a political move to protect Christians by diffusing the Christian persecution in the Roman Empire. Consider this, Christmas is really about the mass or death of Christ which is usu a holy day during Passover around spring equinox. The Dec 25 was a time of "pagan" worship of the Sun. The Roman astrology and spiritual system believed that the Sun dies on December 21 or 22, winter solstice. It stays dead three days and rises again on Dec 25. That's why Christmas eve was important holy day to prepare for the "birth" of the "Sun". Constantine combined Christian observance of Christ's death (Christmas) during the pagan festival. Constantine made moves like this to mitigate and end Christian persecution. He himself converted to Christianity.

Once they did they had to be held accountable for all their actions from then till now. I say that God is outside of time and he saw all actions, all possibilies. He didn't have legs arms feet and hands like we do and Sin was Not in him. He was created strictly for the Worship of The Most High. He was like the Angels, and when he fell into Transgression, THAT is when he (and wife) became like US..carnal, fleshly humans. Eve was cursed with submission, and child bearing in pain. And because Adam was still responsible for Worship, the ground was cursed for 1500 yrs ( all the way to Noah's time) there is a ton of information I left out of this but if you really want to know the truth hit me back and I will help you to learn more

Do you have any primary sources to verify the garden of eden?
They say the old testament was inspired by god but before man wrote about eve eating the fruit man had already written about pandora letting evil out of the box.. Before man ever wrote about bible god getting mad and killing all men women and children with a flood, man had already written about zeus killing all of mankind with a flood because he was angry.. And before zeus flooded the world there was literature of the flood of gilgamesh because his gods were angry with mankind.. Before man had ever written about the garden of eden and the serpent, man had already written about the garden of hesperides and the giant snake.. Why is bible god inspiring man to write stories that have already been written?

The first speaker was good but in Genesis it shows that there were people there before Adam and Eve.

You cant have logical reasoning when it comes to God,,,,Our minds are finite,,,his mind is Infinite,,
Remember his ways are NOT our ways and his thoughts are Not our thoughts,,,
I dont think this clip is drawing anyone closer to God.

God has offered man the gift of wisdom and placed teachers in body of Christ along with the Holy Spirit. We can know some of God’s ways and many of his thoughts. If we couldn’t Jesus would have never shared his ways and thoughts with his disciples.
It’s good that these people are given a safe space to share their thoughts, feelings and objections to the traditions of men and the word of God as “they” know it. It allows “truth” to find them.
Think on the story of Nicodemus in John 3:4. When the word of God puzzled him, the physical “Word of God, Jesus” came to him with answers.
This is “your” opportunity to listen/hear the perplexity of someone with a heart let Nicodemus and do as Jesus did, answer his questions!!!!...

Matthew 12:8. Jesus said that HE was Lord of the Sabbath and greater than any Temple. Thus the Sabbath can be celebrated ANY day of the week.
1 Samuel 15:22. Adam & Eve were not given the mind of children but of thinking and reasoning adults. The test was of faith and obedience, that test has never ended this is the test every believe faces daily. But Jesus became our way of escape. As a child you may place the folk into the outlet due to a lack of understanding. But as an adult you understand the consequences and God loves you enough to “Still” give you freedom to choose.
-Death. It will come to “all” of us in one form or another. But, Christ said to be of good cheer for HE has overcome death. And we who are in him understand that we only die “once” and live for eternity with HIM.

So, Joseph was kidnapped by his brothers, thrown into a hole, got sold to Egypt by Arab scavengers, did 13 years in jail, never once questioned the validity or existence of God, wound up being 2nd in command in Egypt, saved the people that Christ came through.
What do y’all say when you read these stories?
“Why did God do Joseph like that?”
Your problem is not with church your problem is really with God!
My old church used to have those silly Halloween alternatives also.
    I didn’t like it.
But my job was not to critique ignorant pastors (even though I did) it was to serve in the place God led me to.
    Sabbath day arguments are juvenile.
Especially knowing that Jesus said “I am the Lord of the sabbath.”
And the story that accompanied that.
God placing prohibition in the garden? Never learned the meaning of that?
Why didn’t y’all find a church that agreed more with your understanding of biblical things?
    You left church?
How does a Christian leave church ?
What about “ trust in the Lord, with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding…”
Y’all are in direct violation of that scripture.
So you left the church because it didn’t line up with your understanding.
Which means you that you’re still in the “I don’t know stage”.
A dangerous place because without faith it is impossible to please God.
