I've watched this episode a dozen times already, but the head captain apologizing to his friend because "I know the Bankai you honed for a thousand years IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THIS WEAK!!" Gives me chills every time! The entire Bleach series we only got inklings that Yamamoto actually liked anyone, let alone truly cared about anyone deeply so to see his rage come out like that in defense of his (arguably) best friend is just really moving. And most importantly cool as hell.
And here I thought Yamamoto's only friend were the sweet potatoes he baked with Ryuujin Jakka :')

That same guy fodderized byakuya, yourichi and shunsui......infact it moved sooooo fast yyoruichi could only see after images and not even fathom that speed, however kenpachi started playing tag with it in his base form

Maybe the fact that the start was good, the anime expanded on a lot of moments, adding anime only scenes, the music was on point, and the animation was clean.
I always loved this arc. And let's not kid ourselves, 1st Invasion was awesome even in the manga
