Supplementary info/LN changes (very long comment warning due to two episodes.) (Episode 7) In the LN, it starts different with Kazuma and the ring, a callback to the rest of the maid Darkness scene that was cut, and Kazuma had to wrestle the bag of money from the lady (Luna didn’t exist yet, so the lady was someone else.) Small scene of the Party talking about last episode (Megumin drinking beer while missing Kazuma, Darkness worried about Kazuma getting found out by Iris, and Aqua drinking beer while betting money on Kazuma getting in trouble and prepared to ditch town.) Before Kazuma leaves, Vanir reminds Kazuma of the first things they said (Vanir actually spoiled LN 7’s vision in LN 3’s epilogue, where they said that Kazuma and Darkness will face their greatest crisis ever and will regret their helplessness), but Kazuma forgot and Vanir gives new advice. Alderp’s butler also shows up, instead of those scenes of Alderp (I think they rearranged some scenes, so I won’t explain what this means just yet.) Finally, Darkness’ abs are canon in the anime and her self care at night (along with Emperor Zell’s debut/egg and the redesigned Kowloon Hydra, which Kazuma referred it to as Yamata no Orochi, which is a Japanese mythical serpent of death.) Wiz buying stuff from Hyoizaburo/Megumin’s dad was brought up in KonoBakuen, which you can see in the episode. There’s a cut joke, where Kazuma thinks Chomusuke will turn into a cat girl because of manga and goes on a rant trying to get her to transform and deters her from being like his Party. From last episode, there was a new reveal in the Gacha, which is Rain’s full name after being playable in it (her name is Rain Sky Coleslaw.) Lastly, there’s stipulations to Vanir’s future sight ability as hinted/brought up again in the LN by Vanir in the episode, which can’t be used on those stronger than them, becomes foggy for those close to them in power, or incredibly conniving (Goddesses like Aqua and Generals like Wiz are stronger, Yun Yun is near their power, and Kazuma is too conniving.) This LN is called: Okusenman no Hanayome/110-Million Bride, which is a parody of Seto no Hanayome/My Bride is A Mermaid. Spoiler below the whole comment for a joke from Vanir, that also reveals what’s inside the egg of Emperor Zel. (Episode 8) 13:01 - For those Dragon Quest fans, Eris says the famous death/game over line. They cut the whole interaction from Eris, where she explains what happened and that the Kowloon Hydra is incredibly tough (it tanked Explosion and in the previous chapter, Explosion is capable of destroying a large mansion, but the monster was bigger than expected and it resurfaces every ten years after recovering it’s mana.) This Hydra is a ritual, where the Knight Corps come every decade to put it back to sleep, but they can’t kill it, so Darkness is being crazy to want to kill something that can’t be killed (Eris also says that Darkness is blaming herself for his death and was taking it hard and she gave another hint, which is likely cut because of a later scene, so I won’t explain further.) Kazuma lost 30% of his body, so they showed naked Kazuma, because he was missing his equipment (hence Ms Kazuma/Kazuma-chan.) There was a throwaway line where Aqua killed a bunch of fish in fish tanks, because she thought purifying the water was smart and Darkness looking at the reward for the thieves desperately (also the guild planned on asking for Vanir’s help, so Kazuma hid next to Aqua at home, to avoid Vanir’s precognition.) Much like with Beldia/Dullahan, Darkness was meant to be bloody from the Hydra, to show her desperation and it’s endurance and why Kazuma was fixing her stained and broken armor. Reference to KonoBakuen. In the Hydra fight, Kazuma’s gear melted so he only had casual clothes and his defense was low, Megumin cut off 6 heads and Yun Yun cut off two, after the fight, Darkness got plastered for the first time and even offered some to Megumin, and they bought the same crabs from S1E9 as a gift for Darkness (they also changed Darkness’s reason for being absent, to leaving the Party.) Lastly, as the Party Swap chapter for S1 was cut, this marks the first time Rin (Dust’s Party member with a tanuki tail) talks and you get to see the Intermediate Mage properly (I believe Rin’s VA is the same as the Gacha, just like the other VAs.) Vanir trolls Aqua in the LN, by revealing/confirming that Emperor Zell is a chicken and that she should change the name to Teriyaki.
