  • In this video, Cuba for Cruisers, HELP, We Don't Speak Spanish! we leave Santiago de Cuba with our traveller fully functional again and continue along the South coast of Cuba, headed for the Garden of the Queen Archipeligo and stopping a few times along the way. We have a few brushes with the La Guarda Harbour Masters and discover how bad our Spanish is but soon learn how to make arrangements to anchor the boat overnight to rest. We visit the beautiful island of Cabo Blanco and trade some shoes and soap for a huge King Makarel!

In August of 2017 we sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our CZcams sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and my partner Nawal as we navigate the globe. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard full time. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos!

Great info guys as I am sailing from Antigua soon and heading for toronto. It’s hard to get bahamanian visas for my Dominican crew right now so likely we will ease our way through Cuba instead of the Bahamas and this knowledge helps me a lot.

So com'on already get Zeus a Che t-shirt! Or a guayabera so he'll look like a member of the Buena Vista Dogwalking Club.
"March on." Bureaucrats. You are flying your Canadian flag I hope. My friend in Montreal when I was about to move back to the States cut her Canadian Flag off her jeans and told me to sew it on my backpack so when I was hitchhiking in Europe no one would give me a hard time.... Hasta La Victoria!

Great video, very informative. Are you only allowed to go ashore in certain certain places? Do you feel the boat would be safe at anchor if you left for several hours or would you go into a marina? Thanks for the videos :)

You can anchor on any uninhabited island or wherever there is a marina. We left the boat on anchor when we went into town. Very safe to anchor close to the marina with security. The cuban people are not allowed to board a foreign vessel. The penalties are severe. They insist that you lift the dinghy at night and lock it.

Great video. Cuba seems beautiful, but with all the restrictions curious if you’d ever want to go back. Cheers

Yes there are restrictions but it's really more boat tracking and limitations on finding provisions. Otherwise you can fish, swim, snorkel, buy a meal, get a drink, or anchor in lots of nice spots

FYI CZcams has deleted thousands of conservative voices and truth channels. People are moving over to bitchute and rumble. You should post your sailing videos there also. Hard to watch CZcams with the huge increase in ad videos now. Glad you got the boat fixed up
