Thank you for everything ! i'm getting into running, ran my first half-marathon one month ago, going for 30km before the end of the year, and one of my goals is to run a 100K ! keep it up, gotta keep it unlazy !
You arent better runner just because you run 50km, i feel people just dont respect running 5km or 10kms any more. You just want to run longet to make a picture and post in instagram, and posting 5km or 10s is not that cool. Just saying
@@dididubalier2196 My goal is to do a charity run by the end of the next year, so yeah i wanna run from a city to another (and i totally respect people who run 5km or 10km etc. But this is a personal preference right ?)
Massive respect for the achievement from a fellow runner. This year I ran 1,600km+ but still I am not ready for the mental struggle that is 100k race. This series of videos that you have made are pushing me to rethink my plans for 2022 and throw myself in some ultra running adventures.
I love how honest your are about your Training and it not being optimal. It‘s really motivating to see that you can still do these things as long as your motivation and will power is strong enough! Great video!
I enjoyed this video and appreciate your honesty with commitment to the training plan. I think a pragmatic approach like yours is ideal, it is unrealistic to expect to follow a long term training plan to the letter! Thanks for sharing and for your content, a great source motivation for me! Also loved the opening with your merch plug
Great Channel!! You are fun to watch and i found myself kind of jealous for your life. It looks fun! Also i like your honesty, how sb else said before… Blessings from Germany🤗
I'm getting back into running after a 6month break and your videos really help remind me to just enjoy it. Only found you recently but I'm binging your whole channel, love you man
Thanks so much for your videos and confidence boost, I was in so much doubt last month because I've only done just over 1000kms from 16 Jan to 10 June. But last week I managed to finish the 88km Comrades marathon. My training sessions seemed similar to yours although I'm extremely slow. Thanks very much for your videos.
I have done even less running training than you did, which isn't ideal, but your comments at the end of the video were encouraging to hear, definitely an attitude-booster for my upcoming event!
I’m training enough right now that I could learn from a video like this. I’m upping my volume at a relatively slow pace, but I’m making progress nonetheless. I want to challenge myself with stuff like you do. I want to do something really difficult one day. Thanks for the inspiration, friend.
Are you gonig to explore some shorter distances? HM, 10k and 5k? I just finished my second HM block, peaking at 80km at week in the second one. Im going down to 5K trainign to gain some speed, and I'm sure this will help me for my future marathons :).
Not only enjoy more, but also prevent really hard injuries I would say. Sad truth that you can get hurt even if you are 20 y.o, but getting into that plan overreach beeing 30-40 y.o. makes it really provoking. So take it easy! There is a lot in a journey, and 100K is not a goal. Make "comfortable 100K" a goal. Be a person who can enjoy full IronMan. Sport is a a journey and lifestyle.
Hey Jonne, I have recently start to run and realize that I have a iliotibial syndrome. Can you gave me some advice how to cure it, if you had, how did you treat it? Thanks!
Interesting story. That’s one way of doing it. Sounds like you didn’t sacrifice your other loves for the 100km. That is smart. All that stuff you did helped anyway. Nice work.
Nice video! I would only say that for the sake on the principle of specificity your training seems kind of too chaotic. No offence, of course. The fact that you didn't follow the training plan strictly but autoregulated it is also good.
It all comes down to running form. If you're a hard heel striker, no matter your training or DNA, your knees won't hold up. I found that out during my marathon training.
That pace was based on Jack Daniels' program, and I don't follow his program anymore :) his pace for my easy running seems to be a bit too fast, I prefer to keep my easy runs real easy
You know, I don't think that your last few weeks (of not much running would be that detrimental, for an ultra. Vo2max, endurance, takes a long time to build.... and a long time to loose, too. For faster stuff, like a half-marathon or 5k or a mile, the specific training before is important to keep sharp at the distance. But for an ultra... I'm sure 3 weeks, with whatever running happens (like you did) is fine. Kayaking wouldn't impact to negatively in terms of freshness I don't think, biking might a bit more (especially if it was some grueling 12hrs+ long thing that draws all your energy reserves and may take weeks to fully recover from). This comforts me, as I am currently preparing for a 100k in 2 months. I'm at a steady ~80km/week for quite a few weeks now, with the odd 90 or 100km week thrown in. I thought it was too low (I wanted to be at a steady 100k/week by now). But then maybe it's actually plenty and I shouldn't worry. The rest of the stuff (some speed, longer runs) I'm doing much as you are. I guess strength work could be added. But maybe I'm doing enough volume/intensity that it may not matter.
WHO'S READY FOR SOME MEEEEERCH?!🤘🤘😎
MEE!!!

Brilliant…as always, btw. TY! Your videos & reports are very interesting, motivational & fun. Love them! Keep it up ^_^
Love this! Great to see a 'real' training plan - the expectation vs reality of training is sometimes a shock 😂
Awesome training blocks. Love your work!
thank you very much!
You are a combo between Eric the Electric and Beau Miles and Im here for it
*Great Job bud!! Hoping for my first 100k soon!*
good luck!!
I always feel re-energized for running and sport after watching your vids, so, thank you very much for that 😁
Love that!
Refreshing to see a training plan not followed perfectly and the pain of the training. I came to the right spot!
Fantastic video! As usual!
thanks, appreciate it!!
Awesome! But shit! I run a lot more than you and never thought I could do what you accomplished. Keep up the great work! Love it!

what is that training log tracker you are using? it looks sick.
So hyped for this video!!! Also just want to preface it and say I’m definitely buying 2 caps for my buddy and I for Christmas!!!

What program did you use to schedule your training
