    El Kobba is my father's workplace and back in the day I used to stay there from time to time. It's a beautiful place and the best part about it that no tourist knows is that there's an unexplored underground basement system that goes pretty deep under the museum and it's inaccessible to tourists.
    But the bad thing about the museum as a whole is that it's abandoned by the municipality which means it rarely gets any maintenance and another thing that you mentioned is the lack of information about the rooms which is true but back in the day there used to be a guide there (my mom) that explains to you everything about the museum's contents but that's no longer because she left and works for the municipality now.
    Otherwise you could've asked my father for any information about it and he'll be happy to answer your questions.
    Anyways good video and I hope that you enjoyed these visits!

      Oh wow, thanks for reaching out! It is an incredible space, and as you say, a shame the local government does not offer more support in maintaining it. I definitely enjoyed all the visits. So many hidden gems in Tunisia's various medinas. Here is the fruit of my labours: www.bradtguides.com/product/tunisia-1/

    I heard there is a cistern in the Medina and it was a former Byzantine church is that true?

    • @ScafidiTravels
      @ScafidiTravels  Před rokem +1

      I did not know that! Do you have any further information, like what the church was called? Or the neighbourhood in the medina where it is located?

      Ah, OK. I remember walking in the area to try and find it but I was not successful. Judging by the photos online, it looks to be relatively hidden and also "temporarily closed", whatever that means!

    You’re wearing a mask - is that required these days? If not, do you recommend it anyway?

    • @ScafidiTravels

      It is not required these days. However, it was a legal requirement at the time this video was filmed.
