I visited Tunisia in 2014. A fantastic country with a lot of Roman architecture. El Jem and Carthage are outstanding examples of it. Many very interesting places all over the country. Tunis National Bardo Museum has the most amazing and the biggest mosaics collection in the world. Not enough words in the dictionary to describe their beauty. Very warm and friendly people and excellent food. For veggie lovers simply a paradise.

Aziz Ben Soltana the reason why I said it’s not tourist destination is because, from trying to research how to travel Tunisia on my own, most of the tours are dominated by all inclusive deals where you stay at one hotel the entire time. There is so much more to see, to travel around, and to experience in Tunisia than just staying at a beach at a hotel. This is why it’s a traveler’s paradise.

Hi again, thank you for reading my comments. I have a couple of things I would like to add about Tunisia. The Greek poet wrote about an island where Ulysses and his men went ashore to get water, they've been given lotus flowers to eat, the lotus were as sweet as honey but doing so they lost their memories and became captives. I believe that the lotus flowers were confused with dates, there are palm trees in djerba and the dates are as sweet as honey.
Further more. Tunisia is situated at the at the very top of the African continent.
Amazingly, before the country was referred to as Tunisia, the Romans called it Africa, from then on, the whole african continent was named Africa.
I hope that I expended your knowledge about Tunisia and please, look beyond my limited English perfection. Have a nice day, god bless and please come back again.

My hubby and I were there for a month and our fave was probably staying with our Tunisian friends as they cooked us homemade couscous 😭😭 and chicken stew to put on top. Also... they have the best olive oil hands down!!! And the seafood from the fresh market was delicious.
