We Got ‘Em! - Metal Detecting Colonial House Neighbors and Finds 1700’s Coins, Old Silver, & More!

- Several years ago I got permission to hunt some large Colonial Farms that butted right up against the Delaware River. I went back to these fields several times and always managed to pull some awesome period coins and relics. Next to these fields are 2 large1700's houses but at the time I never got access to the yards but I always thought they would be packed full of incredible finds. Fast forward 7 years later and as it turns out Doug's cousin happened to purchase one of these 2 old Colonial houses and is quite friendly with the neighbor of the second house. So off we go to metal detect the grounds after so many years of waiting and man-oh-man was it worth the wait!
We also invited our friend Merrill (CZcams - Metal Detecting NYC) to come down and join us. I always liked his style and have been meaning to get together with him for the longest time and what better place than this! With 5 detectorists and 2 large properties this will be a multi-part video but hold on to your hats and each video will have some incredible coins, silver, awesome relics, and one will even have some GOLD!

It was such a thrill digging with the Quarter Hoarder crew! What an incredible day! And I learned that planting banana trees really does change the course of the universe! 😊
I saw Merrill on Nicola White’s CZcams video a few months ago when Nicola visited the USA from England. Merrill had taken Nicola to Dead Horse Bay in NY. It was a fascinating hunt on an unusual shoreline. I have to say, Merrill couldn’t have been nicer to Nicola. He was very knowledgeable and informative. I hope he had a successful hunt with you guys in PA!
Same here! I saw that video too.
Oh yeah! I remember who he is now. I watch Nicola's channel too. :D
I did too🥰
Wow! You guy make me so jealous, here in South West Florida you never get to find great old coins like that! Congratulations to Rich on his first real!
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. That coin pre-dates George Washington, amazing!
I was born in 1949, so that even predates me! 🤣
Merrill is such a great addition to the crew!!
Jason to Rich, "I could give him a broomstick with a stud finder taped to the end and he's gonna find a lotta stuff." Me to Rich, nobody cleans a find better than you.
Thanks Uncle spongehead!
So good to see Merrill with you guys!
Loved the whole video. So happy for Rich!! And now I can't wait till next week. 😊
Man I love Merrill! I didn’t recognize him at first until the magnet scene and I busted out laughing. He’s awesome.
Good too see you invited Merril too the hunt. What beautiful land your hunting. Man oh man I wish I could hop in a car and take a ride up there! Great spill Rich. Cool horse merrill. And the gold ring was an awesome find! Rich needs too give everyone a 15 minute head start too the next hunt.
Nice to see Merrill on your channel.....Merrill has a very entertaining and Informative metal detecting channel also
Carey what is the name of Merrills channel? Thanks ahead of time.
Nice meet up with Merrill Jason.. Keep the content coming, enjoy watching every week.
Merrel was a great addition to this video. I’ve watched a lot of his CZcams videos, good man. Great finds and great hunt. Keep poppin.
Rich is killing it. 🔥 You guys are so fortunate to live in the area you do and get those great permissions… so fun to see what potentially is hiding right under our feet. Keep saving that history.⚒
Can’t wait to see what next weekend brings. Way to go Rich!

Sushi has been unlocked! Bring it on!
Great hunt! Congrats Rich on your first Reale!
AWESOME! Richy Rich is knocking it out of the park as a novice.
You should spend a few minutes at the beginning of the show giving water bottle lessons to Doug...... That would be funny. You could line some targets up around your rig and get a free car wash.
It's Mr. MERRILL! WHATS UP MY MAN! HAD TO BRING THAT FUN CLUB TO QUARTER HOARDER! LOL
Hahahaha....I almost fell off the chair laughing when you inserted the A&W Root Beer commercial. sigh ...so funny.
As usual, this was an awesome video with lots of great finds! Merrill just may be your good luck charm Jeff. 💖💯
Of all the bananas you've planted, have you ever gone back to any of them and found a banana tree? Lol awesome hunts!

@@QuarterHoarder 😂😂😂 Hilarious 👍
Nice job kids !!!!
WTG Rich your coin IS older than George he was born in 1732 AWESOME! Not to mention an incredible coin spill and then a reale. Today was your day!
Yup! Though on the actual day he was born, it would have been February 11, 1731 - according to George’s parents and everyone in the colonies as well as England and other countries still using the Julian calendar. His birthday of February 22, 1732 is ALSO the correct date, adjusting from after the 1752 calendar change. Moving new year from March 25 to January 1st, and removing 11 days from the September calendar had to be a shock to the system of anyone whose life ran over that 1752 line!
I'm enjoying this episode . Thanks for sharing . Your friend Pull Tab Pete
First. I love you guys. I bought a legend too
Wow!. Even though you have a stubby tail, Doug got cut off mid stream. Rich, got rich, and Matt got schooled. Yall killed the dig on this video. Love all the finds. Awesomeness people!
Awesome Video and finds Congrats RICH 👊👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Awesome video guys! I hope to see Merrill hunting with y'all again!
Wow ! What a site ! Super nice hunt . That banana really came through this time brother ! Awesome finds y’all ! Thanks for sharing video with us.
Congratulations guys, beautiful finds !!
Wow guys that place is amazing! Great finds everyone but Holy jeez Rich is kickin butt with that legend! Congrats everyone!
Great detecting video. Some incredible finds and the Spanish coin looked as if it was new. Thanks for sharing!!
Wow what a hunt congrats gentleman. Carl
Cute video/effect of the A&W key and root beer. Got a kick out of it!
You guys are great to watch. So informative. It was fun playing the game!
Still laughing at the A&W commercial. We have them in California too.
That woods Hibernia was in incredible shape and to dig a kg2 all toasted after is a shame and I was certain he had a standing liberty or another barber quarter. I love a coin spill that’s mixed with different varieties of the same coin and a seated quarter would of been the cats ass. I’ve had a couple killer permissions but you guys got me drooling
Super super super and awesome video. Thx you guys!
Doug, that charm is a quill. I am thinking the owner was probably a newspaper reporter or possibly an author. Rich, you must be gifted! Just incredible. AGAIN I can't wait for the next episode.
I thought it was a quill also. They're not far from center city Philly. In the back of the Ben Franklin house there is Franklin court that leads to another early stone home called Carpenters Hall. I went inside to see everything and they sold souvenirs that were reproductions of colonial artifacts like coins, skeleton keys, candles and quill pens. I saw a silver quill charm darn near exactly like that one. When I was leaving outside on the cobblestone carriage road I saw some money. I thought it was some souvenir of early paper currency that someone bought and dropped it walking away because they were almost new but folded in half. As I picked it up and unfolded them it was 4 $100 dollar bills. That was when the brand new big head bills just came out so I didn't recognize it until I looked it over. That was one lucky day. After that we detected a park near a house Washington rented while in Philly and the finds were amazing. Some guy we didn't know was also detecting pulled out a french gold coin about the size of our $10 gold eagles are. He was so pumped or scared lol IDK but he was gone in 3 minutes after cleaning it. I used to kill that park until it became part of the Fairmount park system then we got kicked out. I miss those good old days. And that was before detectors were as good as they are today so who knows what's still there. It's between the old mint and Betsy Ross house they are all within a 3 block area. Now it's all tourist attractions selling copies of the Declaration of Independence and quill pens. But yeah I think you nailed it it's a quill pen charm. There were other charms like the skeleton key, a paper scroll, the liberty bell, an Eagle and a candle in a candle holder that you can build your own bracelet with which ever charms you want to add. Each piece was sterling silver And there was a small cannon charm I almost forgot. My money is it came from there the place is next to the site of where the liberty bell used to be I'm sure everyone from the area has been there several times. Ben Franklin's buried tomb is there with an opening in the stone wall for people to see it. Philly is my favorite city with the culture and the preserved buildings and incredible detecting if you can find a legal spot to hit now. I get chills seeing these sites on the Delaware because militia and red coats walked everyone of those streets and there's forts right on the water. That's a great site the water area is going to produce killer finds. I'm predicting it now before they come and hunt it. They'll dig plenty of musket balls watch?
@@jeanponce2017 Thank you for your reply; I say Aha!, I had completely forgotten the Ben Franklin-Philadelphia connection.
Hello everyone
Lol Merrill I watch him also he'll be a good fit with the team nice
Some great finds Jason. Thanks for sharing. Good luck and happy hunting brother.

Awesome hunt guys lots of goodies found congrats.
All nice finds. I'm jealous
I do enjoy your videos. I do get and hunt a little, but not like I use to hunt. I can't get around anymore. I like to touch the history. I found cast iron desk in my yard and a very old naval button. Thank you for your videos. You do a very good job on them.
Incredible finds awesome sites
That was one of the best episodes I've seen in awhile(!all channels) congrats to all.
Looking forward for part 2 .
Someone's dog got a hold of the housekey
Most definitely comb lines! I would know I’m a pro! I was born in 1981, so I’m pretty much a Jedi comb user!
Congratulations to you all. Can't wait till next week.
I see where you said I win something. I know there is a lot of scams. What you to be aware of this ?
Well done guys!😊
History wise I lived in Bushkill, i attended a church in Middle Smithfield which was eventually built about 1832. The families in that town commanderd the boats for for Gen Washington's crossing. The famous portrait of the boat crossing included those family members. Can provide more history on that.
Dude love what u and your friends do
Fantastic hunt gentlemen!! So much treasure! One of these days I'm coming to crash a hunt with you guys!
Awesome video ! Congratulation to everybody for a amazing hunt and finds ! Big Congratulation to Rich for finding those beautiful old silver coins ! Good luck and best wishes on ya`ll next hunt !
Congratulations everyone. Weather just starting to improve Down Under hoping to get out with my Legend soon. I think the secret to Rich's
