    I only watched to 9:30. Ancient Puebloan's,my people,were here long before the Dine(Navajo) migrated down from the Yukon territory. We are not the same people.

    Do you need permission to be on Navajo land? I'm curious - thought you said at the beginning that this was Navajo territory. Additionally, someone told me that there are some areas where drones aren't allowed. Is this true?
    Thanks - enjoyed your outing.

    How high was the water when the upper ruin was built?

  • @SimonSozzi7258

    Petrichor (/ˈpɛtrɪˌkɔːr/) is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Ancient Greek πέτρα (pétra) 'rock', or πέτρος (pétros) 'stone', and ἰχώρ (ikhṓr), the ethereal fluid that is the blood of the gods in Greek mythology.
    They identified two key compounds, geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol, produced by certain types of soil bacteria, as major contributors to the petrichor scent.
    It is caused by the water from the rain, along with certain compounds like ozone, geosmin, and plant oils.

      @EnjoyTheJourneyLife That smell reminds me of summer rain in Staten Island and then Jersey. It's kind of stoney and maybe metallic... but not in a bad way. Maybe it's the ozone.?. Maybe caused by electric charges in the stormy skies? Your videos are so fun. Thank you for sharing. I love the narration about indigenous customs. It's a nice touch.

    while probably not ancient-woos deteriorates but the Navajo and other tribes as Hopi may consider these lands sacred and come out to do their ceremonies. We have seen native Americans on boondocking spots that were on sacred lands doing ceremonies. This structure could be one of theirs???

    That’s an ancient mud n rock charcoal furnace. The corn was used for kindling. It produced high heat and burned slow. The window was the bellows hole. The metate was used for grinding stone into powder form for smelting and separating the metal sought from the powdered stone ore. Just some info for folks to contemplate who believe these granaries” or corn cribs” were used for food storage.

    • @winddrinker155
      @winddrinker155 Před 8 dny

      Metate and mano are still used to this day to grind corn into flour by my people (Zuni Pueblo). Yes,we have and still grind different stones and minerals for paints and pigments, not to extract iron ore.

    • @yomo159
      @yomo159 Před 8 dny +1

      @@winddrinker155 I didn’t mention iron ore, but thank you. They were doing the same thing I mention at sandstone overhangs in the Appalachian Mtns of West Virginia and the Ohio Valley. Similar constructions but different colored sandstone. Im completely ok if we don’t agree. 🌞
