Hi, this is on all lauch based scanners. Its one of the reasons I use it as my daily scanner, ive got a video coming up on this topic.. it will however not change the vin but write it when blank
All you need to do is kill the power to the module during the read, then it will let you write the VIN even if it's been set before.

find myself coming across this video after i swapped PDCs and got a chronic crank no start condition on the truck. No power to fuel system with key on, no key on power at fuel relay. I'm thinking i accidentally fed 12v to my ecm with no ground. Sound familiar? 05 truck.
Hello, Its possible. Its common problem on those. Long as you made sure you matched the IPM with the correct part then it may be worth sending int in for a look.
Any chance you can erase a skim on a 2007.5 ram 3500 ecm? I’m doing a 6.7 conversion in a 2002 excursion and I don’t want to tape the Ram key in a box with the skim and hide it under the dash I would rather just delete it. But I can’t figure out how to get me HP tuner to delete the skim.
