This IS the studio version. You're gonna have to come to terms with the fact that this is what TALENT is. There was no auto tune back then.
Exactly!
Hear hear
True dat!
I KNOW, RIGHT!!!😁
@@pmbbmp NNNOOOOO, THEY DIDN'T!!! U EITHER COULD SING, SANG, OR EITHER UU COULDN'T!!!
SIMPLE AS THAT!!!
BACK IN THOSE DAYS,.. SINGERS SUNG, & I KNOW THIS, BECAUSE,.. MY FATHER WAS A CELEBRITY SINGER!!!
These boys aren't auto-tuned....this is how they sounded live. In the '60s, '70s and early to mid-'80s, there was no auto tuning. you couldn't get signed if you couldn't sing live. This song is from the movie soundtrack of "Saturday Night Fever," one of the largest-selling albums of all time.
How things has changed anyone is in the charts now 🤔
Gotta love these eras for that. Either you could deliver or not. If you couldn't, you were out.
Remember when songs were written by the singer and (oh my God) sang by them!!! What a crazy concept.
True. Auto-Tune was not invented until 1997
We need to get BACK to those times. So many of todays losers have no business being in the music industry.
Don't apologize for thinking a certain singer is black - that's half the fun! It makes reactions fun! I've seen so many reactors stop the video & walk away - come back & say I've been listening to this song forever & I had no clue. I've got a whole bunch I'm gonna throw at ya from time to time! Start with Bobby Caldwell "What You Won't Do For Love".
Yep - I really love the reactions to Bobby Caldwell, in particular! lol
Exactly, for 30 years I thought Louis Armstrong was white. Lol
@@thomasfinnell9681 That's who I grew up listening to! Oh how I love him!
I was thinking about Simply Red getting confused as black
It's the half of the gale
When Barry sings in falsetto, it is flawless and when all three of the brothers do it...it is perfection!! Checkout "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees.
How deep is your love is amazing
One of their best songs❤❤❤
How deep is your love is a classic
you got it wrong ..blks sound like the BeeGees
@@SpkeNo1 No, its wrong, Barry discovered his falsetto voice in nights on broadway from the album main course, there were songs becoming hits like jive talking BEFORE and without the falsetto!!!
Nobody can harmonize like the Bee Gees. Those brothers were born to sing together.
*Cool Fact : They found that the beat of this song when they say "ah ha ha ha staying alive, staying alive" is the perfect timing when giving someone CPR. So if someone's ever in need and you're there, just sing this song while pushing on their chest. =)*
nice
Great clip from The Office about that 😂😂😂
@@kenyonsgirl415 LMAO! I totally forgot about that. Funny AF!
@@stephanieclark9849 he said "first I was afraid, I was petrified..." 😂 😂
Heard that they actually used a stethoscope on one of the guys hearts to get the beat. How cool is that?
That IS them. There was no auto tune back then. You’re hearing pure talent!
So many reactors thought the Bees Gees were black 😉 loving the reactions from y'all 💙
Thank you!!
This song is of course from the movie "Saturday Night Fever" which starred John Travolta. My favorite songs from the album, all of which were giant hits, are "Night Fever *my second favoritie)", "More Than A Woman", "You Should Be Dancin' ", and "If I Can't Have You (my third favorite)". Give them all a listen. These guys had a lot of hits. Listen to "How Deep Is Your Love", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "Love So Right" and about 50 more.
Strutting!
Not too many soundtracks have such a chart topper like this. Maybe grease
@@andreadeamon6419 "White Christmas" from the movie Holiday Inn and of course, "Purple Rain" from, well, you know.
@@andreadeamon6419
And of course Barry Gibb wrote "Grease" the opening track!
@kerryn67 i know. He even knew he wanted Frankie to sing it
Almost everything they recorded was written by them. They also wrote hits for many other artists. Sadly, Barry (the lead singer) is the only brother still alive.
But at least their sister is also still alive. Barry isn't completely alone.
This song was the soundtrack for the 1977 film "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. Several of their songs were used for that movie.
It is what you hear, no auto tune back then Barry Gibbs falsetto voice is incredible to say the least!
If you like this, you owe it to yourself to listen to music from the '60s and '70s. The Bee Gees were just one of many extraordinarily talented groups.
Props for coming right back to The Bee Gees like you said. They are legends.
The Bee Gees wrote all their music, they are so very talented, I love the Bee Gees I have had the privilege of growing old with them. They are tops in my book. So much great music and songs. A good way to see them in action is to watch the making of the song Tragedy.
The Bee Gees are brothers who started singing when they were kids. And their voices are just as good live as in the studio! That's a promise! There was NO auto-tuning back in their day. If you couldn't sing you didn't make it as a singer. Yet these guys made hit after hit for many years! They wrote the songs too. And Barry Gibb sang duets with Barbara Streisand, & Cher
In their pre-disco era (late 60's early 70's), Robin (with the long hair) was usually the lead singer. "I Started a Joke", "To Love Somebody" and many more. My favorite period of the Bee Gees.
its been in a LOT of movies. well over 20. its a classic for a reason.
As others commented here…..your guys’ reactions are great & keep it going👍!! The Bee Gees had dozens of Top Ten hits with having written over a 1000 songs spanning 5 decades!
This song was written and recorded to the movie “Saturday Night Fever” with John Travolta in 1977. Biggest selling movie soundtrack of all time
You want to hear how they really sound like, watch their concert “One Night Only”… they cover their songs from 60s to the present day.
"More Than a Woman" and "Night Fever" More Bee Gees "Jive Talkin'" All #1 hits.
Even growing up in the hood back in the 80s you couldn't resist listening to this
Now I'm going to be singing this all day, and feeling good!!
You two just get better and better at this, I also love how you give all music a chance. Music heals and sharing your discovery with others makes you feel good and us as well!!!
Very well said.
Thank you so much Robin!!
@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz Bee Gees are 3 British Brothers from the Isle of Man in Great Britain, here is how they got their high pitched voice in the studio czcams.com/video/8FEbFLsA59M/video.html
Loved this comment! So sick of people being judgy (sadly, they think they're "helping" lol, but let's be real, always sounds negative) He/they will surely find their exact groove, otherwise it's just fun to see today's youth find old music as new and as exciting as WE did when we discovered it! I'm kinda obsessed with these reactions, bc there really is no better feeling than that 1st time you hear and feel a song... I recall showing someone older NOW a classic movie and the joy I get when their face melts off! Hahaaa
There's honestly nothing better to bring people together than music! I smh a lot at how many classics fell between the cracks for these younger viewers, but my heart pounds, tears, the whole shhhhh, when they find a great artists, and see what music once was!! Not sounding snobby lol, but everything lately was computerized, it's so great to hear great music coming from a place of LOVE, not just the $$😉♥️🎶😎
@@debbiedebster5806 I love it too!!
1958 - 2003 (45 years) of The Bee Gees to choose from! They are legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💖💖💖 *THE BEE GEE'S ARE TIMESLESS, AND FOREVER COOL, WITHOUT TRYING* 💖💖💖 RIP, Andy, Maurice, & Robin, forever in our hearts!
Robin singing Massachusetts or Rings around the moon or Me Natural, Maurice singing Closer than Close or Man in the middle or Wildflower all of them singing For Whom the bell tolls or You win again or alone. To love somebody from the 60s but they never did anything that wasn't amazing
BeeGees were asked to write songs for the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and this is one of the many on that album. Y'all dig in to vintage BeeGees because they been legit back to the 60's! There are songs where you mainly hear Robin singing, then there's songs where you can hear Maurice mainly singing. It's worth the dive into all their music. I don't think you will be disappointed.
This IS the studio version you are listening too, it is from the soundtrack to the movie "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" with starring John Travolta. You will hear it in the opening scene where Travolta is walking down the street. "Saturday Night Fever" came out LONG before the other movies you may have heard it in.
Barry Gibb also wrote & did a duet with Barbra Streisand called "Guilty" It shows all aspects of his voice.
What kind of fool, woman in love too
They all co-wrote many songs for other performers as well produced.
That's straight up 100% them... Pure talent. Please react to "Jive Talkin'" when you get a chance.
If you want to hear Robin by himself, check out “I started a Joke”. There is another brother called Andy and he has his solo “ Shadow Dancing”. Do check out “ You should be Dancing” 1976 HQ audio.ITs a live video. This features all four together.
A lot of their early songs had Robin singing lead.
And I can't see nobody.. live in Melbourne 74
'Saturday Night Fever' and CPR rescue...what a song! And, yes...I have never heard a falsetto like Barry Gibbs. Other worldly. (.he didn't even know he could go that high until '75 with 'Nights on Broadway')
The Bee Gees had 9 No. 1 hits, 15 Top 10 hits, and 43 songs on the Hot 100 in total.
back in the day musicians relied on their talent, very rarely sounding different live, form their studio recordings
Two more songs I think you should react to, from the Bee Gees "How Deep is your love" and "You Should be Dancing".
"Night Fever" too.
fuck the haters, do you man. we’re here for content, if you wanted to watch the video then go watch the video 🤷🏼♀️
🙏🙏💯
Whether in studio or live, they sound virtually the same. No lip-syncing, no atou-tune. What you hear is authentic!
I know one song that has Barry way more isolated singing the majority of the song alone like you requested. It's PERFECT because then you'll be ready to hear Al Green's version of it. Barry loved what Al did with it.
"How Can You Mend A Broken Heart"
That walk in the beginning was the walk of the century...
Oh yeah just remembered something funny. My sister is a child of the 70's and after watching a bunch of Bee Gees reactions I texted her this. "Did you know that until here recently the Bee Gees were black? We had a good laugh. Thanks for the fun.
They are brothers who have been singing since 1958 when they were young boys. They were definately blessed with a gift. Definately listen to more of their music. You'll love it
Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their twelfth single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.
The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide, making them among the best-selling music artists of all time[8] [9]. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997;[10] the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees."[11] With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.[12]
I was 16 when this was released and I'm 60 now and it does My heart good to see Young people still enjoying them as much as I did
Believe me, these brothers are for real! GOAT.
You got that Right👌🏻🥰blessed us w fantastic sound, creativity and their incredible harmonies like no other!
Andy too.
You can watch them singing live for sure! For excample 1997 Live In Las Vegas, Concert 'One Night Only'. They sang all their bangers like that one or even 'To Love Somebody', 'Words', 'I Started A Joke' and 'Tragedy' + many more.
I am SO looking forward to more Bee Gees tracks from the two of you, my fave couple :)
Rest your love and (Our love) Don't throw it all away .
Jive Talkin is another hit BeeGees song!
Listen to Robin Gibb sing "I Started A Joke" live on the One for All concert 1989. Individually, each brother is a superb singer.
Enjoy your reactions!👍
Great reaction. I would like to recommend "Love You Inside Out." These guys are not only some of the best singers on record, but also among the greatest songwriters.
Barry Gibbs is one of if not the most successful song writer of all time. In addition to the ones he wrote with his brothers, he wrote many hits for other artists.
Thanks for the reaction.
The Bee Gees did a version of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow in the studio and you can hear Barry and Robin sing solo parts to the song.
It's the BEST bass line in pop music.
"Tragedy" is a good Bee Gees song. There's a good live version on CZcams. If you look at really old Bee Gees stuff they didn't sing in those falsetto voices. It's quite a bit different. For whatever reason, they tried this in the 70s and it went really well with disco music.
No true...they have always used falsetto just not entire songs.
@@ericajenkins1769 no, they didn't. They originally sang tight three-part harmonies. Barry didn't add the falsetto sound until later.
Robin often slid into falsetto when he was singing, he did it so smoothly you often didn't hear the change from chest to head voice.
And Robin's falsetto was way better than Barry's, unfortunately by the 70's the nicer looking face usually took the lead at the studio heads' insistence.
Pure talent no gimmicks just their voices
The fact you have friends of all shades and cultures speaks to the fact that you know we all aren't as different from eachother. Just enough to make it interesting. ❤✌
The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is about survival in the streets of New York inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. With 31 million singles sold since, Top 5 all time songs ever written and the hallmark and mist iconic song of the 70`s decade.
It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world 🍾. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history.🎖
Michael Jackson told that without the Saturday Night Fever Sountrack, he was not able to write with Quincy Jones the Thriller Album, Barry Gibb & Michael Jackson were the closest friends in Show Biz 💪
What you are hearing is them, no special effects like autotune which was first used in 1994.
The last video was fine, you could see it just fine, no need to apologize. We watch for your reaction, if they just want the video let them Google it. Love all your reactions guys. ❤
Sounds as fresh as when it was released.🔥🔥🔥
There is plenty of live videos of them. They are even better live. Perfect everytime
The Bee Gees were asked to create music for the film "Saturday Night Fever" and this is one of the pieces created. They were asked to sing falsetto if possible to add something different to this music. It worked and the Bee Gees were internationally born.
The bee gees are the best all 3 Brother s could sing Barry can melt your heart
Barry is still alive and getting very old, there is a talk show interview after his last brother passing, he jokes about his high voice singing and has his guitar and shows how he sings like that... been doing music over 60 years 🎶
Hi! Anything from Midnight Special ... all groups were required to sing live on the show. No autotune. "Nights on Broadway" is a great start.
Have a wonderful holiday.
Bee gees from Redcliffe, Brisbane Australia. Same hood I live in. I grew up listening to bee gees💯Straight legends.
The Bee gees are legit Legends and if you don't like this song there's something wrong with you
Auto-tune didn't exist back then and these three gents wouldn't have needed it anyway.
Do Night fever
Check out “Words”, “I’ve got to get a message to you”. Will show you them without the falsetto. Great reaction ❤️
I love the expression on your face as your mind is getting blown it is so nice that we can reach across with the younger generation to heal the wounds in this country music is a language all itself and no one can stop it with hatred I'm so happy to see this movement taking place with music you've probably never heard before
I can definitely see how you would think they were black. They have a lot of SOUL! I was in grade school when they were popular and continued into the 80s & some of the 90s.
Bee Gees and ACDC by far Australia's biggest bands of all time. Bee Gees were prolific song writers too, do a quick on songs they wrote for other artists and film. You'll be blown away
The Bee Gees are amazing, but I have to admit when I was a kid I had a crush on their little brother Andy Gibb. He looks and sings like his brother Barry. Check out Shadow Dancing!! 🕺
Good to see younger adults enjoying music from them since 1958 First time on TV can be seen on CZcams from Google I do know Barry is still singing
Watch the bee gees live to get a feel of how talented these brothers were. Not only great singers but song writers and musicians.
You're right! You shouldn't have to apologize when you're just doing your best. You can't please everyone and some folks are just plain looking for things to be wrong instead of looking for positives.
Michael McDonald, the lead singer for this song from the Doobie Brothers, had an equally impressive list of timeless songs as a solo artist. He did a beautiful cover of the “much covered” song “Hallelujah” that I would recommend for an upcoming reaction.
Fantastic vocals!
If you want to dig deeper, try "I started a joke" It shows Barry was not the only talented singer in the group. It is from the 1960s and was a huge hit at the time. The words resonate with so many people even today.
This song was the theme song to the movie with John Travolta called "Stayin Alive"! And, YES! They could really sing like that. This was back in (I believe!) 1977 or '78. Way before your time.
YOUNG MAN,.. THIS IS THE BEE GEE,.. BACK IN THE LATE 70'S, & THEY WERE THE REAL DEAL!!!
I REMEMBER WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT,.. ALONG WITH THE MOVIE, "STAYING ALIVE" (SOUNDTRACK,.. ON THE ALBUM)!!!
SINGERS DIDN'T USE AUTOTUNE BACK THEN!!!
This and a few others the Bee Gees wrote and sung for the motion picture soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever during the disco days. Btw, love you two's channel, very cool, keep it up
This song on so many movies. Lol it's on night at the roxberry. It's on some kid movies too just can't remember. Then of course you got John Travolta doing his thing to this in a classic movie as well
We love these guys back in 1977, they were cool then are they are still now. Still have all there albums to
They were all excellent singers, especially together, they were brothers and did this their whole life. Only 1 still alive, Barry Gibb, closer to 80 than 70 years old now.
Black White Yellow Purple Green Brown or Multi Colored. Soul is Soul. BeeGees got it. No apologies needed.
Have fun and thank you both for sharing with me your first reactions of many old songs that are new to you.
Most of the songs from this album were written prior to being used in the movie Stayin' Alive. (A ground breaking movie in its own right for the depiction of life in the Italian district in New York). This the true talent of the Brothers Gibb (The BeeGees) they knew music and embraced all sounds.
Love the big smiles as you both recognized the song.
They are just as good live !!!!!!!!
They are a British singing act of Brothers (Bee Gees) Gibb. Been singing as a family since they were 9 yrs old in England, in 1965.
Watch one of the concert alive. Their voices & harmonies are dope!
This was on the movie Saturday fever in the 70s big movie back then the Bee Gees ruled the 70s unbelievable singers the disco era🐐💙🐐🐐👍☘️
You can listen to all 4 brothers sing you just Google to find out what songs each brother took the lead only the twin Robin didn't play a instrument. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak.
Congratulations you have now listened to one of the greatest music group & song writers of all time. Hopefully, you will be fans for a lifetime like so many of us.
Not the first people to think that the Bee Gees were black. Not even the first CZcams reactors to see this and be surprised.
You Should Be Dancing. Jive Talkin. How Deep Is Your Love. Night Fever. All amazing!
I am so impressed with you! You felt overwhelmed with politics, so reinvented your ability to reach out to the public a different way. And I truly enjoy this! We all need joy in our lives. Thank you.😄💕
This opening song to Saturday Night Fever is puuuure disco! Resurrected their group's career... the film's soundtrack album.
The Fugees's and white WyclefJean sampled this in their song We are Trying to Stay Alive.... Bee Gees with the disco kings of the seventies
