I saw this title and went to make a comment about how crazy Matpat’s gotten, but then I pleasantly remembered the Mario Communism vid and realised he’s just always been like this

Considering we get the powerup from a plant, id argue the oxidizer is Ammonium Nitrate, which is a fertilizer as well as a strong Oxidizer.
For example, the Beirut Explosion in 2020 which had effects similar to a low-yield nuclear blast, was mainly caused by several thousand tons of Ammonium Nitrate reaching its critical point and detonating.

I’m mean it’s possible that Mario can do this because Mario can use the opposite of the fire flower which is the ice flower which has the ability to freeze anything solid on impact and I don’t really know the temperature needed for something like that and I doubt that it is close to -400 degrees but hay its just a thought.

The explanation I have for why rocket fuel comes from a flower is that it's a highly energetic plant. A plant like that may exist irl so maybe the fire flower is that same plant

That was bugging so much. I kept twisting my brain trying to think of a representation model I know of that would use that for either elemental oxygen or O2. But, nada.

Another Idea for the fireball: NaK. It's a combination of Potassium and Sodium, and explodes in water. So, if Mario got a stockpile of these materials...possibly by 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, then he could start a fire, that would work even better underwater. It also pulls itself into a bun-like shape, so that may have the bouncy property in Mario's world (due to it's high surface tension.)
