This show has been great. Im bummed that there is only one more episode. I never thought of him being their kid but it makes sense except if you go by his real age its a bit too late. He was born in 64 and this is taking place some time after 73 because that was the date on her flashbacks. I would guess about 75. Some of the songs they have played I feel like they were released later than they are supposed to be in the show but Im not sure. I dont think it is 76 or later because we arent seeing signs of Disco which should be big by about 76 or later. My guess is 75. This is all based on my recollections of the 70’s. I was very young at the time. I was born in 71.
I have to admit I couldn’t stand Yen in the first episode. I understand how tragic her backstory is supposed to be but her stubbornness while Frankie was trying to keep them alive was getting on my nerves. And if they hadn’t spent so much time fighting with her about everything Frankie probably wouldn’t have died when he did.
I realized that Yen was not at fault because if they hadn't argued or argued with Yen, they would still have escaped because Winston had already tricked Cormac's henchmen into another building. The main cause of Frankie's death was because Charlie's friend betrayed him. betrayed and colluded with Cormac. If he hadn't told them that Frankie was here, Cormac wouldn't have found them and Frankie would probably have escaped, so don't blame Yen's stubbornness for Frankie's death.

Pretty clear Yen won't be alive long if she is to birth John... she likely dies during child birth (she wasn't able to bare children according to her original husband). So the baby would indeed be orphaned.
