Another great video Ricky, love the fact that your uploads are always entertaining and you feature the coolest of cars. You looked like you had a lot of fun driving this Pug, you can see that you really enjoyed it! I had a 205 Dimma a few years ago, sold it for £900 but hey ho lol 😱
One of my favourite you tubers. Honest, seems approachable and honest with Criticism. Respectful. Loving the old school cars! Keep up the good work Ricky
My first “ fast” car way back in the early 90s and I still remember the look of fear in my mates face as I went over a right hander bridge with lift off oversteer and managed to gather it together before we were both smashed together like sardines in a tin. I’m not scared to say I almost shit myself! 🚗💺 💩
Awesome, loved my 120bhp 205 back in the day, great fun! Any slack in the steering is likely the front lower balljoints, 205's eat them all the time, especially with the heavier engine upfront! Love this, great to see a classic! Nice one Ricky!
Definitely much more fun driving one of these than being a passenger. I've owned many still have a 1.6 gti a convertible cti and a 309 gti as well. Good to finally see one on the channel
@Matt man you didn't though did you?.. What in your slow over weight astra that handled terribly? Yeah good one.. I used to eat astras gte for breakfast in my td 205 van.. Truth!
Friend used to sell these back in the day, I’ve been in about 30 of em. Couple of points: A good 1.6 feels faster than a rough 1.9. On fresh suspension - Peugeot killed it with the damping, soaks up all the bad roads like a small car shouldn’t and stiff enough for amazing handling. The Mi16 motor, cammed with throttle bodies was the ultimate non turbo way to go in the 90’s, still can’t believe they are just average compared to today’s hatches. If you told me back then a 2020 Golf has 300+BHP and 4WD i would have told you to put the crack pipe down. Great vid 👍
Yes Steven!! Was great meeting you and reviewing your pug!! Was an absolute beast to drive haha!! And ricky i bet this was a blast from the pass to drive haha proper drivers car 🙏💯🔥🤙

Aug 87- Jul 88, mine is a Sept 87 F plate. In 87 on the F plate the ph 1.5 came out with the updated dash and tailgate and a few other bits mirrors etc.
I had a 309 gti with the mi16 back in 2000...what a car! This 205 in this vid is the best sounding motor you've had on the Channel Ricky 👍 old skool rules keep em coming 👌
My first car was a 205 1.1 with 4 gears. 2nd car 205 1.9 diesel turbo. Lowered, GTI 1.9 suspension and brakes, GTI wheels, GTI interior... my pride and joy!
When I heard that acceleration I started missing my mi16. She has been standing outside about 3 years waiting for motivation to fix it. Old Peugeots are so beautiful cars.
I had a peugeot 208gti for 9 months and I bought a focus st because the wife wanted a 5 door for easier access to get the baby in and out of the car seat. Even though I love my ST, I really do miss the Peugeot. Such an engaging drive and fantastic all round machine
Got one in Miami blue , mi16 with the alloy block...I’m in the process of putting a blower on mine, had the throttle bodies on emerald management. You don’t realise how quick they are until you race against someone else with a quick car. Had mine 15 years. 🚙
Takes, me back to my younger years 👍. You need to get into a Lancia Delta next! Had a few hot hatches, stock & modified. My 205 Mi16 track car on carbs was my favourite, inc my Lancia Delta. Fond memories Ricky, keep up the great content 👍
Great channel mate always entertained!! That pug 205 was my dream car as a kid, sounds awesome. I would like to see a few more sleepers on ur channel that would be sick bro 👍
Had one of these with the extract same setup up about 8 years ago. Had to wear ear plugs the induction noise off the throttle bodies was that loud. Amazing cars. 😎
My first car ever was a 1.8 diesel peg 205. Chassis liteeally broken in half dashboard glued together drinking more oild then diesel never change the oil just top it up 🤣! Lastd just over a year and sold it running for 300 euro. Brings back the memories🙏
“BTEC Racing” is about the most unappealing name for a tuning company, especially if you’re from the UK and know what it means to call something “BTEC” XD
A 1.6 GTI was my first car at 18 back in 1999. What a car it was, dispute being a c reg, it was 116 BHP at 16 year old - it absolutely spanked cars at a higher pedigree. Lol
Lightweight cars with decent power to weight ratio will always be more appealing than straight BHP wars. Far more enjoyable experience blasting round the B roads than short bursts of speed on the motorway. I miss my Celica T sport so much 😭awesome video mate.
A real car. Back in the day I had a drive in a TSR(Tim Stiles Racing) MkI 2.0 turbo golf, think it was about 270 bhp, it really was hard to imagine anything being faster, probably the most drivable car I've ever experienced, I think it weighed about 890KG. The original 205 gti 1.6 was 113 BHP the later 1.9 was 130BHP. The 405 gti Mi16 was 160 BHP standard. The 205 1.9 had non assisted power steering it used to load up real heavy on long sweeper!
Brings back memories of my 1.9, with "only" 130bhp it was elastic between corners. I had mine near the end of the 90's and there really wasn't much that could keep with it down a back road. They are phenomenal driving cars 👍
Been there done that, had a Renault turbo also and a fiat strata abarth 130,those were the days when you had full control and loads of feel through the wheel, lightweight cars back then.Miss those days.
