    it;s a dowell. Why are you worried about tear-out?

    • @WesHamstra
      @WesHamstra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      If you wanted to use it in fine woodworking.

    Why do you care about tear out on a dowel?? Seems like it worked well.

      @WesHamstra  Před 2 měsíci +2

    How close to .75 inches did you end up with?

    Are you supposed to back up? That is chewing it up.

    • @WesHamstra
      @WesHamstra  Před 2 měsíci

      No. I did that on the first one. The next three I didn’t do that. Pushing it through slow is how to avoid tear out.

      Yeah. I watched it back. You are right. I however don’t think that is the issue.

    Why would you expect it not to be metric. uSofA is the only non metric country in the world

    Half the worlds wood workers were sucked in by this. Me included. It doesn't work.
    Home made ones are heaps better

    Wes, the problem that you have is the blade in these dowel maker's are basically crap, they are pretty blunt from the word go 🫣. The temu is a total pain in my arse, the amount of adverts the we get on a daily basis is just nothing more than infuriating!!!. As alway's buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

    • @WesHamstra
      @WesHamstra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I wonder if there are any higher quality blades that are compatible with this jig. I didn’t have high expectations for this.

      To be honest Wes neither did I, which is why I didn't buy one. Instead I have the flat steel plate with different size holes etc I find this way better 🤔

      @WesHamstra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I will have to try that

      @@simonr6793 Hi! can you send a link to the plate you have or do you think all plates are good enough compared to this? And the plate requires to hit the wood with a hammer right or do you use a drill?
