This is the first film that I made of my first Camino, walking the French Way from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port
to Santiago de Compostela.
I've also written a book, a collection of the blog posts I wrote each day on the Way.

The Camino was a life changing event for me. I sold my home in Texas and moved to Spain. I'm dedicated to the Camino for life.

Hey John, such a beautiful video and documentary of your WAY. We must have been right behind you. Wish we would have met. We finished the French 9/29/18 and the Primitivo this 9/13/19. In our blood now. Can Not wait to return to “walk” again. For all of you saying you must do it, please DO it. It will change your life. The most magical, peaceful, contemplative days of my recent life have been spent on the Camino. Merry Christmas! Hope I’m getting tix to Spain! Ultreia! Hilary

We walked from Sept 22 -Oct 28. 2018 We were blessed with great weather/people/places and experience. At times I say to myself did we actually walk the Camino, then I watch a video like this and the memories come flooding back.

Very nicely done! I was watching CZcams as I worked this morning (teacher catching up on marking) and I had to pause the marking to really take in all the majesty on offer here. You have put this together so well with the panning over images, brief legends and the evocative music. Very glad to have come across this. Best wishes from south-east England.
Ah, that's very kind of you! I did go back and make a day-by-day cycle of clips from both of my Caminos, so you can dip into those as well, if you wish. In the absence of being able to walk again, this is as good as it gets!

I'm 21 and thinking of doing it this summer. Should i do the full camino Frances with little to no expireance or maybe half of it?? If i do the whole route I'll also have a time restraint of exactly 31 days. Do you think that would be enough to enjoy it?

evan carty Hi Evan! I think it’s definitely feasible to walk the Francés from St Jean to Santiago de Compostela in 31 days. I’d go for it! If you found yourself falling behind on time, you can always hire a bike, for a stage or two, or even get a taxi or train to catch up. Go for it and see how it goes!

Wow, helped inspire me to keep training for 2020 when I'm planning on doing the trip looks like September is a good month to travel as well. So beautiful your imagery thank you for sharing it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will be walking the Camino in September this year [2019] I'm still undecided if I need to take a lightweight sleeping bag, can you offer any guidance?
A single layer sleep sack/liner was more than enough for me between August 23 and September 23 last year. Good to keep the weight down.
We’re aiming for Sept. Oct 2020, St Jean to Finestere. We will be celebrating our 42 anniversary.
I may well be walking again around that time!
