No matter what people say about disco, it truly brought people of different races and socio-economic standings together. Even gay and straight people that would have never associated with each other were free to be one in 1970's discos. Till the day I die I will love disco music. BTW, Donna Summer was and is still one of the most beautiful women. I think at one time she hated her connection as a queen of disco, but I think she embraces it now. Donna you are wonderful!
You can't deny Whitney and Mariah's talents, but this lady was it!!! The last word - I mean a voice that she knew how to control and it was flawless. I'm glad I came across this to see her with the her husband (left side of the screen playing guitar) and performing with his brothers. Thanks for posting this. Miss you Donna - RIP.
That guy has a terrific sound. Rich and rangy, somewhere between rock and soul. They sound so good together. Wish Brooklyn Dreams had broken out a bit more. One of my favorite Donna tracks. Thank you Donna for the music. Gonna miss you, lady!
Also, unless you were also a fan of Brooklyn Dreams, not many people knew that Donna and Brooklyn Dreams also recorded, "Heaven Knows" for their album. On the version recorded for Brooklyn Dreams album, Donna and Joey reversed vocals. She sang secondary while Joey sang lead.....it was pretty cool finding that out.
The guy singing the duet with her is not her husband. That is Joe Esposito singing the duet with her. Her husband is Bruce Sudano, the curly haired man singing back-up.
Wow what a sexy lady , what a voice . She is one of the greatest artists of all time. I was a very young teen when she was ripping up the charts with such songs like radio , heaven knows , hot stuff, dim the lights. She is so missed . R i p Donna we miss you
i am 13 and i am not ashamed to say that I LOVE THIS SONG i cant seem to get enough of it. why was i born in a time music has somewhat died, i mean there are exceptions like Adele, but stars like Donna, Whitney, Micheal, Selena quintanilla, and many more will never come again :( what a shame. R.I.P
Brooklyn Dreams and Joe Esposito were so much better than record sales would make you believe. And Donna...What can I say? A LEGEND. R.I.P. Donn a Summer, "we" still love you!!
Bruce, what a soulful voice this man had, and you could feel the love between the both of them. Real duet singing. Keep missing that time machine into the 70's Dang!!!!!!!
I adore Donna Summer music especially this song. She has the brilliant voice as well being a talented song writer and beauty to match. She's a legendary 70s disco dive and there will be never another. I sadden by her news and she greatly missed:-( I am sadden by the her news. She be greatly missed:-(
One hell of a performance. A great time in life. Man, this video brings back great memories. It hurts sometimes to watch this video and know that this is all gone and nothing but a memory.
Not only was her voice amazing, but the sheer sex appeal of this woman. The way she gyrates and gets down - literally. Oh my. She was practically twerking 30 years in advance! lol. But this band tho. Some bad-ass funk right there. I dug that jam in the middle. (Get down Donna!) How did I never hear of these guys? This guy's voice was Michael McDonald-esqe! #Classic #Dancemusic
R.A. Vee I agree about Donna's sex appeal. I always thought she was very attractive. As a young male white kid, she was my first ever crush on a black woman. I would say I had good taste! :)
MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!! THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE DONNA SUMMER. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SONGS . I TRULY WILL TREASURE YOUR SONGS AND INCREDIBLE VOICE.. SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE VOICE...
The dude in the hat is (was) her husband. This is EXACTLY the clip I needed to come across. So wonderful. Love Donna and, thanks to her, love Brooklyn Dreams
Released in 1978 almost 40 years ago, I'm getting old! Donna Summer had one pitch perfect ultra booming voice I forgot how good she was! One supreme "Diva" that outxhines the others!
Thank you for having the live video with the song (had no idea what the male singer looked like-b/c I only heard this on the radio). They both sound great!
That video was taken from an episode of "The Midnight Special", which was hosted by Donna Summer and The Brooklyn Dreams! I was six when it aired, and I still remember it!
I think that's one reason some people hated disco because it bought people that were on the fringe of society to center stage. You know some people are only happy so long as others are kept down.
Well at least I was not the only one that thought she was singing with Teddy Pendergrass. I found out years ago that it was a member of the group Brooklyn Dreams, but my first thought was Teddy. Rest In Peace Ms. Summers.
Hi R Rich... thank you for that information. I´m a Donna Summer fan and I didn´t knew that exist another version of this song... with switched verses. Hope to find this CD soon!
I love a singer who sounds the same live as they do on recordings.

The chemistry between these two is incendiary. She was the ultimate pop diva during the ultimate pop era. What a fantastic duet.

ドナサマーの歌の中で、一番好きな歌です。ロングバージョンも大好きです。一緒にデュエットしている男性も、日本ではほとんど知る人はいないシンガーだと思いますが、物凄く上手いですね!
