Buddy, I have been skimming thru youtube vids to try and install speakers in my car, and I have to say, you got to the point, showed me what I need to know, and made me chuckle at the end with the "women will love you.,... thanks very much!
It is now 9 years later and your video is still helping people.
Just want you to know even 7 year later your still helping people out. Thanks for the video
9 years ago still helpin
Thank you so much! You're an absolute lad cause no speaker install video ever goes over this step!
U sir are the GOAT ..pullup to the cookout anytime
Thanks for the video. One note though: it looks like the solder joints in this video are cold joints. When you solder you want to heat the parts you're joining, not the solder itself. If you do it correctly, the solder should flow into the components being joined and come out shiny, as opposed to bubbled up on top and dull. There are great tutorials on youtube demonstrating that.
That video was before I learned how to solder the correct way lol. but yes you are 100% correct
@@JRobling btw, I do a lot of soldering, and the best flux ive ever used is topnik rf800.
Its cheap, lasts ages, and flows like a dream.
Been looking for a solid video to show me how to do this for an hour, Thank YOU!!
🤣me 2
Same
Nice video. Really needed that easy way out. Kuz I ordered a soldiering gun and the same subs
4:22 "women will love you or men" 😂😂😂
Sonu03785 "i dont know" lol
If I could give a video two likes I would just cause of that part😂😂
Fantastic.....I've been trying to figure out how to do this for the longest time!!! Thank you so much 👍👍
Hey man your vids helped alot i got a 86 camaro i learned almost all my mods and changes from your vids
Quote of the year “Women will love you or men idk” 🤷♂️
Great video. And love the ending 💕
This video is still helping the world lol thank you so much
Great video, didn’t even think about doing this but it makes perfect sense to
Thanks! Heaps easier than cutting and changing!
Great video ! It helped a lot !!!!
Your the best! Str8 to the point 💯
They sell terminal clips that you attach to the end of the wires and then they just slide onto the speaker terminals. Easy to remove and no soldering required.
good video and useful
great video really helped for my school project! love me some soldering
Nice video. How are the speakers btw?
Love that little end comment lol
Good shit dude!!
Awesome thanks, about to replace my speaker wire due to a cracked harness, it's an old Jeep XJ and this is just what I was trying to find as I wanted to make sure this method was ok to do.
Helped a lot
is this 3-way speaker? do it needs croosover, and how to connect the crossover
You Made A Dancing Hamster a Happy Dancing Hamster Again Thank You!
Can i connect the red and black to a 12v wire behind the deck stereo wiring ? For them to make the lights?
this is the boss way 🤣🎯
I did your first method,connect/tape go bout my day, but yeah neat little pass to connect
My car has the piece as well but I have two of those pieces that you used.
but the new JBL has only one like yours. How do I hook it up. I have a 2011 hyundai sonata gls
Can I put any glue to keep the wires on the terminal?
I need your help man I have to do rewire my new speakers in my car
Thank you
Can you solder with any type of solder or flux? I feel like using the wrong one might interfere with sound quality
How do the speakers sound? Did you post a video of that ?
Best video ever and the women will love you at the end funny af
A little cleaner install would be to solder it correctly (as many have stated) and use some heat shrink
My speakers have two little prongs on it not 1 is it the same?
6 years later and this actually helped me lol
😂😂
Same 💀
Can you connect 2 different wire Gauges
Pretty much what I just did lol old school way…..just spent way too much time trying to find damn harness adapters to fit my Jeep Patriot for aftermarket 6x9s and yep…..I just straight up cut it and out and put the wire through speaker like that lol I need to solder it though….
Still helping people out here :D
Would sound quality drop doing this?
i mean new speakers are 370W or something.. Old is 80 i think.
wires can handle that extra?
What about the power to the led?
Where did you get the adapter
I have a Yamaha s115iv and I thought it would be nice to put in a car but I don’t know how
I'd like to see it work. Mine work but the backlight does not.
If you are going to the trouble of soldering why don't you do it the right way? You need to heat the wire until the solder melts and flows into it.
You really don’t tho
Hahaha - “and women will love you”.. 😂😂👍 love it..
You soldered the positive wire on the large tab and the negative on the smaller. It that how it's suppose to be wired? just asking..
yup
Can anyone confirm this works?
Can I order that wire online?
Black is positive ?
Just got these, how they sound?
Punanismugler They are ok. You get what you pay for. They are a bit better than the stock speakers in my car, slightly better base but thats about it
I must be missing a step because I tried doing the same thing but I still can't hear any music coming from the speaker
You mixed up the negative and positive wires on the speaker...
Great tutorial.
Personal advice skip the speakers. Goto the $50 and up price point. These sound okay at first but drop in quality dramatically.
Can I use my stock tweeter with the new ones still or do I have to re wire it
If your head unit is still the same you don't need to do anything with the tweeters if just replacing the front or rear speakers.
J Robling ok I was trying to use the new and stock tweets
I only watched this video cause a chick needed help and that ending really put the cherry on top
And here I thought I was clever...I can't believe I didn't think of that shit haha
How do you cut the wires like that ?
Wire strippers, I’m a year late but oh well
You need to heat up the parts being connected, not just drop melted solder on them!
Better way is to solder on the square portion below the tabs instead! That way you don't mess the tabs up in case you want to put it in another car or whatever.
Oh shiiiiiiit, that last comment tho🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do they fit Honda Civic 1998?
positive+ going on Positive+
or + goes on -
You are melting a small piece of metal ? Like a paperclip?
He's melting on solder. Usually a mix of tin and lead.
Basically melting metal on the terminals so it can stick
why dont you just use alligator clips simple clip on and off when you want to change speakers
Because they easily snap off and you do not want a short circuit..
@@kimogsus They really shouldn't snap off a speaker that never moves...
@@Matasky2010 lol… what do speakers do? …. Vibrate. What happens when a car is in motion?… Shakes. Both of those will gradually loosen the grips.
Why not just crimp on connector then connect to speaker. Wouldn’t that be more solid
Can this work with oem speakers from another car?
You can install any speakers into your car, its nice if they are the same size and your head unit puts out enough power but most head units put out about the same so thats a rare problem
Love this guy lol girls will love you or guys… I don’t know
I wish it was easy as unplugging the old and plugging in the new
so where is the sound
do you need an amp
regular car speakers use a built in amp from the deck and high end cars will have an amp either for each individual speaker or all of the speakers, but if all you are doing is replacing the speakers you shouldn't have to worry about an added amp
J Robling thanks
Does it work without the soldering?
Yeah it’s called splicing I just did it in my harness
@@lilsleakso it’ll work I just wrap the wire around the metal contact and I won’t have to solder?
@@TheHardstyleGuy. no solder needed I had some stock speakers in my truck that didn’t work and I cut them up then I searched how to wire them and I connected black with black white with white depending on what color your wires are no solder just splicing just got to make sure you wire them correctly
Only problem is my cars speakers have that adapter built into the speaker so i cant take them out! Haha gotta love nissan
Thanks for teaching me how to install my speakers. Now I'll get all the hot girls!
Wait men and men? Sodermy 🥸 thanks for the vid brother.
“Or men 🤷♂️” 🤣
if you just used female electrical connectors you could use that wire time and time again.
How is this easier? Just use the wire end connectors.
Because slip-on connectors can also slip off over time.
@@jaguen123 🤣 shittier way to do it for sure. If you're dumb enough to do this at least solder it
lol i came here because im wiring bmw x8 speakers into my miata
Bruh why do that whem you could have just bought the adapter to connect to the speaker smh
Because they cost $14 a pair.
Ya I had bought the Boss speakers and they are cheap they both blow after having them in my truck 6 months never buy them send them back to Amazon , Amazon didn't even give a Receipt proof of perches so I can't send them back to boss for a refund or replacement DO BUY them speakers
Very bad solder job. Heat the joint, melt solder into it. It will wick into the area.
Need to prep the terminals by cleaning off conductive grease and oxide first.
or men, idk 😂 well i love u know😘
Or men I don’t know 😂
Women would love you…or men 😆
He said women will love you or men😂😭
Dont ever, an I mean ever tape wires onto a speaker. You might as well stick em on with chewing gum
Might sound stupid, but does electrical tape help at all?
@@IvanNava no only for temporary situations as it always turns Gummy then dries out and falls off try Tesa tape
Electrical tape helps with insulation because it is non conductive
rmblwgn why? Does it effect the sound?
@@mylesdk1787 Never use electrical tape, it turns to GOO in the hot and Brittle and slides off in the cold. Just say no. Use HEATSHRINK! When your tape falls off you risk blowing your amp if it doesn't have a good protection circuit because positive and negaitive wires could touch and short. If you put tape on 12v power line and it falls off it could short out and cause a fire.
There is an L in solder...
There is a P in pterodactyl...
@@JRobling please don’t tell me that’s how all Americans pronounce solder?
Did he really say tape on the wires lol
you made an assumption that red is always positive...
Dave M you're stupid it's how you wire it not just because it's red but usually people use red for positive
@Dave M if one is white and one is brown which one is positive and which negative
jesus, shakey much?
Ya right women will love you !!!! NOT !!!!!!!
They are cold joints. If you don't know what you are doing, then why are you making video's?
Unprofessional
