I've had an '06 4X4 for 10 years. Bought it w/ 90K and added a Superchips tuner, cold air and Mangnaflow bringing the already very strong HO motor up to around 290HP. Now, w/ 140K the only thing I've had to do (aside from the usual Dakota things, Struts and some frt. susp. parts) is a water pump! Best truck I've ever had and no doubt, the people who slag on it have never been in one, let along owned one. Terriable gas mileage though, maybe 17 hiway.

I have a 2006 pioneer blue Dakota quad cab, love it! 265/75/16’s front end 2.5 inch lift to level it up.

The earlier body style of the 2000ish Dakota was much better looking in my opinion. The interior was nicer too. Everything is much too boxy with the truck in your review. Gotta have some curves man ! 😉

You have a steering wheel and a windshield, you have four wheels. Lmao i can tell you felt like the truck was way to plain to talk about

Dodge sure blew it when they redesigned the Dakota. 1997-2004 is a classic.... nothing else looked as good, before or after. I'm sure if they brought it back now, it would only be available with some sub-2.0L hybrid and a CVT. I'm in the middle of fully restoring a 1997 SLT 4x4.... about $7,000 into it, and after a 5.7 Hemi swap, I might have spent $20K - about a third of what they call a "truck" today would cost.
