It's kool seeing the classic 'old vs. new' matchup. The 15 pro-max clearly outshines the XS-Max. In day-to-day usage, it's still very much relevant 📱📱📱🏁😁👍
I upgraded from an iPhone X to an iPhone 15 Pro and the only really apparent difference was the the 120Hz display and better camera quality. Everything else really didn't feel that significant. I honestly really miss the design of the iPhone X, it felt so good in the hand.

Yeah they are releasing just same iPhones every year only changing the camera alignment, changing the iPhone body and little bit faster processor nothing else, newer iPhones only slightly outperforms then older iPhones, Apple is just fooling people and increasing the price every year

Glad he has them both at 100% battery. It makes the speed test more fair and you can see the updates apple made for their chips. 5 year old phone and it’s still remarkable today.

I still love using my xs max. Still snappy for daily taskss, and I don't really game on my phone. Obviously the 15 pro max is a lot better but I am going to hold out for another year.

I am thinking of grabbing a second hand XS Max to upgrade from a Iphone 6 Plus LOLZ ( the speakers in the 6 Plus are starting to play up and cant be replaced) Price for a 256GB model is around $450 AUD worth it ? I only use it for real basic browsing texting, calls I like the size of the 6 plus XS Max which is slightly bigger - any other recommendations ?

I switched to the iPhone 12 from the XR and the only chip improvement I got was 2 seconds faster but everything else is way better tho
Did anyone notice the 15 Pro Max drained 5% in the Wild Life Extreme Test vs the XSMax, which lost none.
29 fps vs 6 fps lol it didn't get to process as much of it.

man the xs and 11 pro are still quick but the ram lets them down a bit. the 12 pro max is not just fine day to day its almost neck n neck to the 15 pro max tbh only slightly behind

Nah Nick... no lag at all during Call of Duty... I'm a legendary ranked player here... Using XS Max with 81% battery health... Only disadvantage for CoD is we couldn't take advantage of the Max frame rate option of the game..... the phone does have some stutter while switching apps etc... still a pretty good phone but definitely upgrading soon
Had my XS Max from new and battery health is 76%, but still runs perfectly and lasts well, too. Just received a 14 Pro Max and did a test like this between the two and the difference in performance was minimal for day-to-day usage. Besides the obvious differences like 5G and 120 Hz refresh, I’m not too impressed.

I switched from my 13 pro max and went back to my XS max only big difference I notice is the pro motion display but that’s about it. XS max is still a beast!

@@promo2099 that’s because it is bigger & heavier. It gets uncomfortable to hold or even to just carry around in your pocket, unlike the xs max I feel that it is the perfect size and the rounded edges are just a tad bit more comfortable to deal with over the square design…

Great neck! I still have my iPhone Xs Max and it works smoothly for my day to day use battery health is 81% but I’m using 16.6.1 software version and haven’t yet updated to the latest version because i think it will slow down my battery performance should i update to 17.1.2 version ?
Since iOS17 got some good updates, go for it man! Actually from my experience it works better than 16!

fyi.... I tested an iPhone 12 Pro boot up with these....and it was smack dab in the middle of the two. I thought that was interesting.
Xs max is my very first iphone and never coming back to android again. Still using this as my backup phone. It's 2024 and 12pro is my primary phone. Don't have any reason yet to get the 15😁

I believe the Face ID is a little different. I had an iPhone X and moved to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. The 15 will read Face ID from the horizontal position, but the X (and XS) will not.
Even the regular iPhone 12 does not support landscape mode

This is an interesting comparison, makes me wonder what the performance gap would be between the Note 10 VS S23 Ultra. I would bet the gap is far more significant on Android

I feel like the apps you test aren’t intensive enough anymore. Temple Run and Subway Surfer can run in a potato.. I’d say modernize your app sequence in some way so we can really start to see a difference because it’s definitely there if you look for it..
iPad 2 operates smoothly
I think when people want to say much faster they can use ‘’much faster’’ words when you see very very big difference for example 10 seconds or something like that but right now i am watching your review and you are opening games and millisecond later old phone opens and you are like ‘’ much faster ‘’ . Say just a millisecond faster not much faster
Apart from poor battery life and a bit slower performance this phone is still usable
My wife has a iPhone 14 and I have an iPhone 11! We both run iOS 17 and some how I get more battery life daily on my 11 vs her 14. Not sure why that is and considering I have 77% health and still can get through a full day of charge. I end off my day around 48% and she ends off around 15% we do fairly similar things on our phones so to me that’s pretty odd.
She definitely doesn’t do similar things on her phone then. Also that could mean she’s downloaded something dodgy or been on a dodgy website that’s draining her battery in the background.
@@mrwiz124her SOT is 6 hours on average and so is mine. And we mainly just text or use social media. The only thing I can thing of is 5G. My 11 only uses LTE and that’s pretty much the only difference! But maybe it’s an app so I’ll check it out.

why didn't buttery go down on extreme wild life test on xs max?
Bruh is it just me or does anyone else instantly notice the 60hz on the iPhone XS Max also the 15 pro max has the a17 pro chip which causes it to be much faster but also overheat a bunch
It is instantly noticeable but given it's age this is not a big deal but a newer $1000 iPhone with 60hz like iPhone 15 Plus is not acceptable

iPhone 15 pro max is have a major network chip issue, most of the people don't even notice this problem because they can still use the Wi-Fi or sim card but the speed is significantly reduced. I have personally gone through three 15 pro max and they always fail network hardware test. I would suggest you to get your phone tested.

My iPhone XS Max gets warm and then freezes during use. I have try a lot of solutions, restarting the phone, deleting apps and other videos just to get enough storage, but no solution. Is there any help please?
Ouch, I haven't experienced this much other than it be slow to restart and a couple of app crashes here and there
doing an entire firmware restore via iTunes on your computer and start from scratch, not from a back up. Yeah you’ll lose some things but that’s important stuff (iMessage, photos, contacts, mail) can be downloaded from iCloud
My xs max is still a brilliant phone! I’ve only just had to replace the battery after 5 years! Bit of a silly comparison really what do you expect from a 5 year old phone against a new gen phone??

I have both phones and I can say that the camera difference is not that big, yes it is normal for the iPhone 15 pro MAX to take clearer pictures, but if you, as a person, are not passionate about taking pictures, it would be worth it to make a change.

I’m still using an iPhone 11. It’s fast and works great. What’s killing me is it’s my only device and the battery is absolutely shot. The Apple Store near me I can’t go to and mailing it in isn’t practical.
I’m gonna have to buy a new phone, all over a battery. I wish we had a sealed design that could somehow have it to where a user could atleast replace the battery with no particular skills. I’d love to use this phone til it’s slow and unstable. I spent $900 on it cash in 2019 so it’s not like they didn’t get their moneys worth out of me.
I’m afraid I’ll get stuck having to buy a cheap android because of this one issue. I’m still hoping maybe I can get lucky and somehow get an official replacement same day.
The Apple Store near me is in a bad area in a mall where gangs wait and rob people. For as much as I want a new battery I’m not willing to do all that.

Longevity with apple is very good, my iPhone 7 Plus vs my 15 Pro isn't that even big of a difference in terms of speed. Obviously modern IOS kills the battery but usable with a powerbank nontheless.
7 Plus is considered very weak at the present time. 3 RAM is suffocating the device, and the 15 update has poor performance with it, and even if you do not update the device, it is finished.

My XS Max is the 256GB version. Functioning at 84% battery capacity and purchased it in August 2019. Around 4 years and 4 months of usage and still have 173GB or storage. I have noticed that Face ID function no longer works.
Crazy how I got 83% battery capacity for my old iPhone XR I purchased in October 2020. The battery life was horrendous and drained fast. I upgraded to a XS max a few months ago with only 81% battery capacity and the battery life was much better somehow than my old XR’s. I upgraded to a 12 Pro Max after and it’s serving me well. The XS Max also served me well and I’ve sold it.
Now do a note ten plus and an s23 ultra

The physical build quality seems nice and has samsung OLED panel. Other than that, I don't see much going for it.
3:21 that's not true. My Samsung Note9 is just as fast if not as fast as it was when it was new. Drawback is software and battery which ages and makes it feel slow.
I don’t know about how different the s9 and note 9 are. But I was using an s9 for a while (9months) when my phone broke. And it was pretty laggy. Like the keyboard would constantly lag, and there was quite a bit of stuttering doing non-intensive stuff, like scrolling.
@@broskibrobro1278 There is a difference between they way you use your phone and the way I use it. I just know the pros and cons of my phone, it's capabilities and it's weaknesses. I've been using it for 3years and I've made tons of tweaking in it to give the best performance it can. I wish Samsung did atleast 50% of those and the experience would've been way better.

iPhone 15 doesn't even support BOTH physical SIM and eSIM. It's either 100% eSIM (US model) or 100% physical SIM (Hong Kong / China variant) which is stupid. That's why I'm still holding on to my XS Max because I need BOTH.
I have xs max and 14 pro max and the xs max feels so much better: lighter thinner better overall design and ergonomic. Sorry but iPhone 14 pro max feels like an old brick in the hand and in the pocket. I remember the time when a new model had to be lighter and thinner . What happened to use that we accept to pay so much for such heavy equipment compared to the old ones ?
How in the world did the XS Max get better bandwidth than the 15 Pro Max? And it wasn't even close lol - you should have done that test again or twice more to see if it was just a fluke. But I think the XS Max won this battle just simply based on how old it is it performed very well. If you're not a phone gamer you're more than set.

Apple should make devices with 6.1 inch display( non-pro with 90Hz display), 6.5 inch display( pro motion display with 120Hz display) & 6.8 inch display(ultra device with 120 or 144Hz display). It's my opinion.
