For better understanding, here my translation. But as usually at Rammstein, each verse has a double-meaning...
    When the kids are naughty,
    already the father has threatened
the bogeyman, he will come for you,
if you do not follow my commandment.
And we believe that till this day,
Country and people are full of fear,
    Something bad will happen,
Evil comes and will no leave anymore.
    Chorus:
And the fear grows in the night,
    Door and gates are guarded,
    The back wet, hands clammy,
Everyone is afraid of the bogeyman
    In darkness he creeps up,
If you aren't good, he grabs you,
    So, don't trust any stranger,
So much nightmare, so much madness,
And so we believe till this day,
    Heavily armed is the mob,
    Oh, they can't help it,
    Shout fire in the streets.
    Chorus:
And fear grows in the night,
Didn't close an eye at all,
    The back wet, hands clammy,
    Everyone is afraid of bogeyman.
    Who's afraid of bogeyman?
    Who's afraid of bogeyman?
    Who's afraid of bogeyman?
    who is afraid?
    Chorus:
And fear grows in the night,
Didn't close an eye at all,
    The back wet, hands clammy,
    Everyone is afraid...

I think, the song is about people get manipulated with the right amount of fear which is spread due the mass media and social media. If you watch the video, at the beginning all were happy, had a nice live and the end there a isolated and full of fear, bought weapons and security equipment.

    Great reaction.
Isn't it ironic, the more we get connected with each other with today's media, the more we become disconnected with each other?
    With love from Germany

There are two reasons I watched this video. One was Rammstein's great music. The other was the fantastic storytelling of the music video. Yup.

Hey Sky! Dang, that was something! I agree that while it would be cool to know what they're saying, it's not essential to enjoying good music. I refer to that as "The Rammstein Principle". Haha. Rock on, Ms Anderson! 🤘😎👍

thank you for reacting to Rammstein. They have some drama going on right now and people love to jump on anything bad. Till ist meine liebe
they are talking about divided people and how people are afraid of others, are racist, are hateful and stupidly wall themselves in away from the things the media tells them to fear

took me a lot of reading up on this video as well, as theres so much here to take in, its about fear of anything foreign, especially anything from the far right which Rammstein use their colours in the video, and the use on social media to drum up hate etc ..and how people react to it..the cheerleaders selling arms etc..its normal for most of us mortals to be confused but this is Rammstein, masters of performance art.

Why do people enjoy watching others react or comment on piece of media or art? In my humble opinion it fills, in part, a role you might only get with friends who share your passion and the understanding that comes with that. In a strange way you feel connected to this person in a way that was almost never possible because of factors beyond the internet. Most people would be lucky if they could write and read their own language, never mind understanding some other distant peoples language. It brings us comfort and unity but we are cursed with the iron law of trade offs and adverse effects in everything we do. We feel "unplugged" from the physical space and time we must live within while being "plugged in" into the artificial world where a lingering hope of friendship is more than a mere illusion, and yet it isn't real. Is reality real if your mind is in the artificial world way more than in the real one?

There is a difference between being awake, aware, and otherwise conscious. Being "woke" encompasses nothing. We up out here in the world tryina live. Imagine a world where it's not ok to judge. You can choose this world.

In a nutshell, people build walls between each other out of fear of difference; racism: everybody is afraid and hates "the black man" (self explainatory)

    • @richardstrand2130
      @richardstrand2130 Před 11 měsíci

Or ppl people build walls because they don’t won’t ppl crossing over that they know nothing about. You know like carrying diseases, human trafficking, smuggling China made fentanyl etc.
